Instead of spending tax dollars dragging scum like this through the court system and putting them up in county, I've always thought a new program be implemented:

Following a mountaineering crash course, drop these bastards off in the middle of nowhere with nothing other than the tools and necessities to survive on their own. 90 days later, they'll emerge a changed man if they made it.

I think the fact that they were home when it happened and the quantity of bikes stolen forced law enforcement to treat this as more than just simple theft. Glad they caught them.

Sounds like they were watching these guys, probably saw them trying to sell stuff and figured they'd check and see if it was legit.

I live in ma and once got a $500 ticket for riding without an ohv sticker…on my own private property. That’s more punishment than most bike thieves will ever face.

Yeah, the mep routinely patrol the sand pits behind my house looking to stop dangerous criminals like 11 year olds riding klx110s in the summer. Occasionally they’ll wander into my parents property too. Sucks because it’s a great spot that many locals including jimmy d used to ride. According to my uncle back in the 80s the sand pits were owned by the father of a local racer that let anyone ride there for free but the state used eminent domain to take the land and closed it down. Such is life in this state.

At some point you have to really scare people into following laws.

People who commit crimes like this have no idea what delayed gratification means. They only respond to the here and now. So basically you have to physically hurt them to teach them. Jail time does nothing.

Russia needs money, we need a place to put criminals that is economical. Export criminals from this country to Russia and pay Russia half what it costs us to incarcerate them here to put them in Siberian Ghulags. It's a win/win for everyone.

This man is thinking out of the box with some creative ideas. I think the cold climate would be excellent for their rehab.

Do what the  military does too... : Let one of them go back to their people after being in the cold with various body parts missing and let them tell/show their pals what happens when they get caught.

Sadly I've seen this type of thing before. You got the ticket because you can pay it. They want the revenue. They let the douche bags go because they don't have jobs and are a drain on the system (they can't pay a fine etc - or won't). So they turn a blind eye to them as they lose money/ time and resources on dealing with them. But if you have money ... well you get the ticket as it means revenue.

Sucks to hear this but it is true. I built a house one time and it got broken into 5 times during construction. They took tools, air compressor... Syphoned gas out of the dump truck we had on the property. I called the police...asked the cop “are you going to get finger prints off the hose?” Nope was the answer. “You want to take pictures of the shoe prints they left”.. Nope. They didn't care.

But thank god they caught these guys. It's horrible what Kailub has dealt with. No one should be ripped off. And when it happens there should be real punishment. Cold climates... No food. IT needs to get real for these people. This being soft on criminals - real con men - it hurts us all imo.

No just the left hand

In 3 rd world countries thieves will have their left hand cut off

As that’s the hand they eat with

Due to poor sanitation ,lack of water etc to wash one’s hands after wiping the shit pipe most people use their right hand to do that

Therefore in these countries they never use the right hand for hand to mouth tasks

You've got it opposite.

Right is for eating, left is for wiping.

BTW: presuming your comment is a dig at Austalia, it's worth remembering the US colonies were the place convicts from the UK were sent before the US War of Independence...

don't know exactly what time frame you are talking about, but Australia was FOUNDED as THE penal colony for all UKs criminals.

Two people in bad paths in life. Not sure what the solution is for them. For now it will be jail.

those long rap sheets with them continually back on the streets to re-offend at will shows there is no solution contemplated or implementable to deal with career criminals like them.

FFS bro...

People always like to talk big words, but that picture is how it looks... History doesn't forget, only people forget the history.

One of the thieves tried to sell a stolen Cobra 50 Factory Edition to an Raleigh NC undercover officer for $1,700. That's what got him popped.

It seems their is a correlation with many people having face and neck Tattoos and making poor decisions.

Stealing a little kids bike just feels even more scummy than stealing an adults bike. Also hilarious that of all the bikes stolen the cobra 50 is what brought them down.

There’s a movie called scared straight.
That El Salvador prison would do the trick for many.
