6 hours ago Used 450s are where the deals are at. Literally dozens of them on marketplace near me with under 10 hours or less. People buy them new thinking they need a 450 just to ride them a couple times and realize they can’t handle the power and sell them.

8/1/2026 11:17pm Oh come on now - this is VITAL! There is no place for data-based decision making and/or logic here. You have to smell and taste your oil to really know. Or change it every break between motos. Air filters every 15 minutes even if you need to do a pit stop mid-moto. Get with the program!

8/1/2026 11:03pm I've seen Vet ridden bikes that were better than new at 100 hours. I've seen a fast guy wear a bike out in 50 hours. Any 250 over 50 hours is a hard no for me.

8/1/2026 11:01pm I'm not touching a used 250 with 80 hours on it I dont care the price but especially $6,000? Hell no. If its had a recent top end by a reputable shop/dealer then maybe. Even 40 you are going to have to do a top end in your ownership. Yes I know there are trail riders on here with 1000 hours on a stock top end that have only put gas in it and no issues etc etc.

8/1/2026 11:01pm Don't put to much stock in hours, these are dirt bikes, it depends on the owner and how well it was taken care of. Dirt bikes need constant maintenance regardless of hours. Talk to the owner, ask him about maintenance history, look at his shop does he have the tools to be able to work on a bike properly. The biggest "bad sign" for me has always been when the seller doesn't have a dirt bike stand... How have you done any work to this thing?

8/1/2026 10:59pm Hours are only part of the story, it largely depends on how it was ridden and the maintenance performed.

8/1/2026 1:49pm Easy guys.... He is absolute gold to them at the moment, plus he has proven loyalty to them.... They are up to something beyond BNG. Besides, even if they decided not to drop an all new scoot in the next season or so, the old 450 still looks great after all these years, and still wins..... Older , proven, and slick beats new and flashy any day of the week. Cuss all you want..... BTW,,,,, It is fucking rad to see him having this much fun! So glad he did not burn out, and fade away. God bless that man...

7/31/2026 7:39pm For local NESC races, the frog pond loop was open only for the expert class, and was roped off for the Novice and Amateur classes, since the uphill was pretty steep and a lot of riders didn’t make it up.

7/31/2026 7:39pm I've got some old photos I took as a kid in the 90's of races there that I'll post if I can find any decent ones. I used a disposable film camera. I've got them someplace. And I have video from racing the older layout in the late 90's and early 2000's that is waiting for me to edit together. I was thinking of doing a video showing the history of the track and layout changes. Here are some of the images I've collected while working on that project. Some unfinished track maps that are just rough starts to get...

7/31/2026 7:29pm If you’re there for a local race, you can walk down in the woods and see the frog pond which is still very much there. It’s just covered in new growth pine trees. The fencing is still on the hill. I believe the TV camera stand is gone and I would guess the massive berm is still there it’s just grown over quite a bit, but you can definitely see where the track was if you look at the vegetation. It’s pretty awesome. It’s been a couple years since I walked in there and checked it out but it’s definitely...

7/31/2026 7:26pm Yea the frog pond was cut out and in turn the section before the finish was added in to keep the length about the same. The frog pond was after the long straight away after the start instead of the left turn after the deegan scrub jump instead they took a right across where the hill is to the start and dropped down into the frog pond then came back in and linked up about where the exit of that left turn is. Then in that drop down where christain craig crashed instead of jumping there it was a left...

7/31/2026 7:15pm The current track shares very little with it's original counterpart. 2003 it recieved the first of it's major changes and has been consistently updated since then. Gone are the frog pond, the tower straight, the Buckley berm and the track now runs where the pits used to be. The video from 1986 is about as close to the original layout as you will find.
