It bothers me way too much when people mention Kitchen being "as good as the 450"s. I have not seen anywhere close to the consistency or mental fortitude needed to hang for the full 17 rounds. I would place many 250 guys over Kitchen as championship contenders
Kitchen has had his share of problems on track the last couple seasons but this has gotta be the dumbest argument
Imagine trying to punk the reigning 5x Champ before the season when you've never made it a full short 250 sx season without issues. Let alone winning on a regular basis.
Who is a 5x champ?

I think Deegan will have his hands absolutely full whenever kitchen gets off the damn gate just fine… Kitchen has been FLYING
Unfortunately for Levi….it doesn’t matter anymore his chances for the championship are toast…
Why the need to throw Hymas under the bus? Dude rode that whole season on a torn ACL. If I'm wrong, I'll fully admit it. Cite the specific examples of him being a quitter.
He's talking about Kitchen. Chance dislocated his shoulder. Apparently Kitchen just hurt his arm but no real injury.
I'm sure it hurt but I'm feeling the same about Kitchen. It's always something with him though his rides from the back were good at A1 and SD.
As of right now it doesn’t seem like Kitchen will have anything for Deegan. Even last year the only memorable moment Kitchen had was taking Deegan out.
I think one of the commentators mentioned this too. I really with they'd get rid of the holeshot devices. It's redundant as every rider has one so what does it really accomplish other than add unnecessary complexity and cost. Seems like a no brainer.
I'm from the PNW so I'm naturally a fan and want to see Levi win but damn, I've lost hope.
Same as the 250s, people have been saying hes a title chance for 3 years now this year included, if he can get through a season I'll believe it, so far in his career he has never shown hes a title threat apart from his occasional speed.
It's strange that the industry fully got behind Kitchen in the first place. Ever since he went to Kawi he was seen as a title threat. I always thought why? He hadnt proven anything up until that point but for some reason everyone was behind him.
I can only assume he's easily one of the highest paid 250 riders. Must be frustrating being other riders knowing he's getting paid so much yet they continually out perform him.
It must play on his mind too.
Speed
"he was seen was a title threat".. Yeah, maybe because HE WAS a title threat immediately in 2024 and would have won it without McAdoo? How do people just completely ignore that season, I don't get it. Yes, it has been a injury and mental roller coaster since then but he obviously showed he is more capable of doing it than most of the other riders.
Let's be honest, since the Lawrences and Jcoop moved up the whole 250 field (except for Deegan ofc) has been super inconsistent but there are really just a few that have winning speed and Kitchen is obviously one of them.
McAdoo and Kitchen don't come together in Nashville and Kitchen would be on a 450 this year. McAdoo also had the red plate then btw.
Too think this is the guy that Deegan stayed in the class for.
For all of Levi / Chase / Webb's trouble this year, I find it more incredible how Dungey was just "in it" every friggin race on 450s.
Pit Row
Dude, go look at Dunge’s vault. It’s insane how few races he had off the podium or outside the top 5. Like, you can count them on one hand
This is always my thought, argument, reasoning whatever the fuck you want to call it.
You HAVE to be in it. I feel like the pressure to win is the only think they think about, get podiums. Stack points, inevitably(and unfortunately) guys will drop out, with a shorter series if you want to be a “title contender” you gotta be consistent. If a 3rd is what you have, take that shit. If the win is there, even better. But damn, he’s shown he has the speed these 3 qualifiers before the gate drops & the pressure settles in… winning a race is cool. Winning the title is what you really WANT. So focus on that. Otherwise, the rides he keeps having, he won’t even have a offer from another team…
According to Weege on the review podcast after the hit to his arm Kitchen had no feeling in the arm and it was about 20 min before he could make a fist again.
Just tossing this out for everyone asserting that he just quit.
Kitchen has never been, and never will be, a title contender... fast af for one race.. a whole series, no frickn way
West coast has one fast guy and a bunch of crasher/headtrips/over the hill guys... and thy cringe lord still barely winning... 🤣
There’s a major nerve that wraps around your humerus. So checks out
Kitchen, Hymas and Forkner are all the same rider, so desperate to win, that they just dont think any further than the next jump , and a result, they never won a series with half the guys in half the races.
Forkner looks better on the 450, its crazy that is took him till now to get there, Sexton beat him for the series and has raced with 2 teams, and won championships, in the time it took him to come up. IMO , if you dont win a 250 crown in 3 goes , you never will, be interesting to see what the stats are for that .
Someone will tell me there are 10 guys now LOL.
I am also on the bus on wth happened to the big dawgs ; but i am also happy for anstie and mosiman who where at least twice short of sx championships. They are not slow. Now the kids need to figure it out fast because for instance, whilst very talented, 3 crashes at the start would make me balistic as a team manager, i think the of energy drink would hear me from the other side of the pit while throwing helmets everywhere, and i am on the calm side guys
I admire Kitchen for his skills, i wish i had just an once of that. However some of this stuff reminds me of the Brandon's first race video.
Watch Kitchen come out and take it in Houston, he has the speed. Incredibly disappointing season, I hope he turns this into winning motivation. Everyone saying he’s never been a title contender is conveniently forgetting the dominance of 2024. If you think he wasn’t that fast, go back and watch St. Louis and Seattle ‘24
Kitchen on Yamaha was a title contender, Kitchen on the Kawi hasn’t been the same. Gotta be hard racing against blue 250 with 450 power every weekend and being expected to win. Bike plays a larger role in the 250 class and it shows.
"If that happens to Kitchen or Hymas they would pull into the pits and quit 100%"
He never had the red plate while he was on Yamaha, but he's had it twice indoors, and once outdoors (I'm pretty sure) since he moved to PC.
