Kawasaki will have a different view when it’s the second rider in two years. One occurrence they can explain as unique circumstances; twice will establish a pattern they won’t want to be part of. Ultimately they won’t want a rider that doesn’t want to race for them but my speculation is that Kawi won’t roll over as easily as they did for Prado. It might cost Chase dearly to exit early.

Where is this debate going? The payment arrangement for MXdN is pretty much identical to Supercross and Pro Motocross - riders aren’t getting paid by the promoter, they’re being paid by teams and sponsors. If, as professional riders, they don’t feel the financial equation adds up they can opt not to race. Same as when they are shopping around for an SX/MX ride - if the dollars don’t make sense for them they can find a different team or go and do something else. All that aside, MXoN has never been about the money; it’s about the one opportunity each...
