Where else did you want them to mount that electronic power valve? Cylinder heads have been almost identical on every single Japanese/Euro 2 stroke for the last 20 years, both these bikes have entirely different bottom end designs, both have case reeds, the cylinders themselves are different, not to mention Kymco isn’t producing Chinese cylinders for Kawasaki unlike KTM 😂

They’re different, that’s like saying, Honda, Kawasaki, Suzuki, and Yamaha were copying each others engine designs back when 2 strokes were still at the forefront because they looked similar. The Japanese brands all looked similar but were different. Were you expecting a modern fuel injected Japanese 2 stroke to look like what they were developing 20 years ago? 😂

I think it's funny that people (incl. people like Matthes) are seriously questioning his fitness. You really think someone can become an MXGP champion beating guys like Herlings, Febvre and Gajser while being unfit? Fading in SX races when you have less than 20 races in your life (none on a 250) is a completely different thing, that was down to lack of experience and wanting to get through the season.

People demonise the carburettor specifically, but as mentioned above some bikes require constant fiddling, then another bike with the same carb can be mostly set and forget. The entire package matters for good carburation. It's often the manufacturers fault for bad carb experiences, spec'ing incorrect slides, silly rich/lean jets as stock, or letting the bike leave the factory with massive squish numbers or badly set ignition timing etc. Personally I like the old school carb, it used to be a part of the overall package of speed. If you were smart, new your bike well and could tune for temps...

Yz250 is a great bike and has stood the test of time. But it objectively falls short of the modern 2stroke.

I bought a used CR250 and my friend bought a Beta RX350. If the Kawi was released I would have considered it. Hard to hang out for something not even knowing what it is exactly.

Plus it's not even about checking bolts. To the best of my knowledge, the issue is about the clamps covering the full 360 degrees of the bar. You can't have that, because it will never be tight. The radius of one or both parts extends too far, it needs a gap under the bolt in order to provide clamping force. If that really is the issue, folks could probably fix this themselves by milling a small amount from the clamp face.

Chase stayed at home last summer. That goes against "fulfilling" the contract ones signed that everyone keeps repeating as breaking it. Technically probably both did but also none of them since one was "injured" and the other "did his best". Same with Webb, didnt fulfill what he was contracted for (outdoors).

vdrsnk04 wasn’t downplaying Jett’s accomplishment. They are saying that the class was thinned out, which it was. This season, the class will have Jett, Hunter, Prado, Eli, Sexton, and Deegan. You also have Lucas Coenen coming for three rounds. No one is going to go 22-0 in that field. So anyone saying if Deegan doesn’t go 22-0, he’s already behind Jett are making a weak argument. Now if Jett goes 22-0, it will be the greatest feat in the history of the sport and I will eat my words.

Roczen was part time MX at best, Sexton wasn’t full season, no ET3, no Hunter at the level he is on now, no Prado, I can keep going. It wasn’t a stacked up field as it is now, not even close.
