I thought the original first turn that went up and around the trees was the coolest thing ever
I’d love to see a good aerial view from each year, 2014 -2025. Just to see how much has changed. I miss the up hill triple of course, and that long downhill high speed section after it, to the right. Hell I miss all of it lol. Hardly the same track. I still enjoy it, and really hate to complain so much. But damn LEAVE THE TRACK ALONE lol
My first thought watching the broadcast yesterday was "I have never seen this track before".
I watched some of the old vids in this thread and it was clear they completely neutered the track.
The point isn't the Euros. It's the Bolivians and Chileans etc.

I don't think this layout is BAD, I actually like the woods section, but its almost unrecognizable from the track that nearly every rider said was becoming their favorite. Wonder if Matthes polled the riders on it during his post race interviews?
They completely destroyed the track. They removed the most iconic jumps.
“Alright guys we locked in the MXDN, time for one lined switch backs, wet mulch, dark trail riding, and take out the cool jumps”
Tell me this doesn’t sound like an old club “leadership” making decisions lol
No , it’s bad lol 😆 just go back and look at the previous layout. You know it is bad in hurry
Isn't there a rule about not having the MXoN on a track that has a country’s National Series on it the same year?
I was pretty out spoken at the beginning of the day yesterday and I still feel they have taken a lot of the character out of the track. It did become a rough ass bitch of a circuit with borderline ruttiness but not too rutty imho. It did provide some good racing.
Just rewatch the 2nd motos and look at how wet and sloppy the track still is.
Bro, think about Team Kuwait showing up on a showroom stock RMZ450 with their Jersey on backwards!!!!
Yep. In recent years the riders and fans were starting to become very vocal about how awesome the track was and how it was one of the best tracks on the circuit. People were pumped that it was moved earlier in the year this year so that way the title wasnt wrapped up by the time they got there. Watching the race yesterday it was like watching a whole new track Ive never seen before. I didnt recognize it at all. I actually found myself fast forwarding through parts of the races because the action just died out in large parts. In the past even if the action died it was still fun to watch, but now watching them go around this shit track was just… meh.
Watch the Herlings race from 2017 and tell me this isnt one of the best tracks on the circuit.
Almost none of that track is left. The start is different, theres a new woods section, godzilla is neutered, triple is gone, back section after the triple is gone…. Wtf are they doing? Idiots.
Why are they trying to ruin the track? It’s only been getting worse.
“This track is awesome, it would be a great track for MXoN!”
“”Awesome! Let’s completely change the track for the MXoN!”
LIke others have said, hopefully it will be built back up to the original state before MXDN. It kind of lost its character honestly.
Greed. Just greed. The only way to stop this kind of behavior and the destruction of our sport for the purpose of making more money is if fans turn away in droves, or if the track owners grow some balls and tell the Italian criminal and his cabal NO.
The crowd looked very sparse this weekend in all honesty.
Pit Row
I bet there will be a massive crowd for nations and most are saving up for nations.
As a TV viewer last weekend the track looked kind of like crap. I swear tracks must get paid by the length and depth of ruts.
The local rumor mill is that Toms Marine, the landowners, have zero say over the track layout and they build it to whatever spec MXsports wants.
Listening to all the podcasts today everybody has been mentioning how much worse the track has been made now and even the riders were saying the same thing. Its crazy how just a few years ago they were saying how its becoming one of the favorite tracks and now it completely sucks ass. Hopefully this is a wakeup call that theyve gone way too far with the changes and they had a good thing going. Its a pretty crazy choice to see how people love the track so much that it gets selected for MXON, and then they completely flush it all down the toilet. Its a bold strategy cotton… lets see if it works!
Panoramic view. I was bummed with the layout. The back section after the bridge was way shortened up. This is about the best spot to view most of the track
Same exact perspective from my end. It was beyond disappointing as a fan who had called this one of my top three favorite tracks.
Sounds like more than 50% of the riders feel it's good Godzilla is gone. Harsch landing no flow.
So maybe the people not riding the track and jumping it should be humble and be fine with it 🙄
Tree section seems a poorly decision. It's not Enduro, we don't need trees in the middle of the track. Assume its for laptimes and TV they are re-routing it.
What do High Point and Ironman have in common? The layout gets worse year over year and MX Sports is tied to the track…
Getting rid of the Godzilla jump doesn't bother me. The jump back down was way cooler. I always thought it would be cool to have a slow turn at the base of godzilla so it's about carrying momentum and racing up the hill rather than coming at it at 50mph.
The obsession with 2 minute lap times needs to go away too. I really don't understand what the point is?
For old times sake..
Did you pull these numbers out of your ass? I heard one person say they were okay with it being gone.
