N word with the hard R is whatever young teenagers say stupid shit but coon is pretty rough in my opinion.

The N word with the 'er is much worse than the kids saying it with the 'ga because all the hip hop songs promote the 'ga version.  Kids hear the songs and think it's not as derogatory when they're all using it.  I don't think I've heard the 'er version in a hip hop song, but I don't listen to much of it.

I have no business telling anyone what words to use. Whether I like a word or not is not really something I expect anyone else to consider important. But I really like this perspective.

That’s not true it’s is also offensive to indigenous people and people who think everyone should be treated fairly. I grew up in a town with a large indigenous population and many of my friends at school and on my footy team were aboriginal. Racist morons would throw that word and other slurs around and it was disgusting and hurtful.

Yes, I have seen that pic and remember it.  But, it was not like a widespread issue, there was a few isolated incidents that we no doubt have all read about.  My only point, they were few and far between, it was not at all like a rampant issue as the other cat was trying to portray.  The Stewart family has been by large praised and embraced on and off of the track.

I think that most of us seriously underestimate the cumulative effects of racial bias and prejudice. Not saying that everyone that the Stewart’s came into contact with was overtly racist, but the times that they felt it is probably a higher number than you think. And I’m not talking about something as egregious as holding up a sign, I’m talking about the huge number of moments in a day that you are treated differently because of your ethnicity.

Re "underestimate" I'm not sure how old most posters are, but going to public school in the modern era as a straight white male and being told you're the cause of all the worlds problems and you're going to have to give up opportunities because of your privilege and to atone for the sins of your ancestors might be why white males account for 60% of suicides at the moment. There's a lot of divisiveness coming from the top on all sides to be sure, but you can stop with the white guilt . It's not 1960 anymore.

@Black Diesel Bomber it doesn't matter what Mirtl tries to blackmail the Lawrences with because he's still getting taken to the cleaners by Wasserman no matter what.

yeah, and i don't disagree. I just think the term never really did hold weight. And again, as Aussies we tend to use words and sayings that other countries would consider racists or nasty... but in AUS it's our tone of voice that dictates how things are meant. which can be confusing for foreigners haha.

I grew up and still live in an area with a pretty large Indigenous population and if I called one that name on the street or at school I would've got my arse kicked! Obviously not saying you're wrong just that it's gonna be different in different areas.. In fact I had a bigger problem with Jett saying that than the N word.. Not offended just disappointed as there seemed to be a bit more context behind it but still he was 14..

I remember seeing an interview with Reed talking about the differences in racism between Aus and the US, in the US he noticed there seems to be more hatred behind their racism.. (obviously not saying the US on the whole just the racist people being racist)

No worries Gerg, maybe it's because you are from AU and you don't have the rap music over there that we have here.  When I was growing up and in my teens, some of the gangster rap that emerged in the late 80's started heavily promoting the word Nigg*a and it's been like that ever since with hip hop.  Back in my day you couldn't avoid this in the late 80's and 90's because it was so popular, it was played everywhere among the high school kids bumpin' (2) Cerwin Vega 12's in the trunk.  Tons of these artists were at the top of the charts and made millions of dollars by selling millions of records to white kids like me.  You couldn't sing along with any of the songs without using the word Nigg*a.  I don't listen to today's hip hop but it's still the same as I hear the kids listening to it, it's still littered with the word Nigg*a everywhere.  As a result, over the last 30+ yrs they have desensitized the word Nigg*a by selling it on their top hit albums.  On the contrary, I have never heard top hit rap songs that constantly use the word Nigg*er, and this is why there's a difference in severity between the two versions.

I'm not saying it's okay to say either version, but I will say it would be much less offensive if a white kid like Jett says the word Nigg*a, because you could just write it off to him listening to hip hop.  Nigg*er on the other hand is not promoted everywhere because it's the more derogatory word that blacks don't use to refer to their buddies. If they didn't want people using Nigg*a, they shouldn't be selling it in their albums.  The unwritten law is that only blacks can say it without issue, but they know they are selling millions of albums to white kids so you really can't expect them not to use the words they promote in their "cool" songs.

All the artists I mentioned in my previous post and many more started this trend back in the 80's/90's that I referred to as the NWA era.  There are hundreds of examples like the ones below, and a lot of them were top hits as you can see with hundreds of millions of views, and still very popular today:

I guess it depends on your relationship and how it's used. If you're using it as an insult. it will be taken as an insult.
If your just talking, taking the piss out of someone or just banter. You've got more chance of getting an upper cut from being called "Champ" or putting your beer down on a pool table.

Fotos de Coonamble - Imagens selecionadas de Coonamble, New South Wales ...

Punching on because of being called Champ! Fuck I'm out of the loop, or you eastern staters are crazy....maybe both.

You understand what you just said can be true, AND it can be true that the Stewarts put up with shit that white people haven't had to right? It has nothing to do with white guilt. Racism still exists. Not to derail the thread...

I've said it before on here, but I find this decision by some of the riders baffling. Leaving aside the fact he stands accused of stealing more than $600k, he's also clearly completely unhinged - likely from drugs.

Imagine sending this guy in to negotiate something for you? He's in no condition to negotiate his latest bag of meth or the hourly rate of his latest 'babysitter' let alone take care of business deals for motorsport professionals.

It doesn't have to be a dick measuring contest regarding the specific ingredients in each respective parties' shit sandwiches. My counterpoInt to Steve jobs was simply "we do know, actually." Boomers might not, but we do.

Yep same thing I quoted the other guy on… it’s mx smx super duper motoR Cross. It’s the good ol boys club and everyone sucks each other off to be in a position of power here. 99% of the guys don’t make much more than a guy at Home Depot but they are “industry”. I find it hilarious from the outside looking in at most industry guys. At the same time I hate how most of our moto mechanics make damn near nothing and work their asses off 24/7. The top mechanics who do make a decent living (ups driver like)…. The few I know act as if they are a Hollywood star 😂. Meanwhile I still love this sport and hope to see ya guys at Pala.

I don't have a dog in this fight because I don't like the Lawrences, or Mirtl, but he must be good at his job....as are the Lawrences.

I've also said this before - a single braincell in a vat of liquid being carried about by a large lobotomised ant could get Jett Lawrence signed to a factory team. He sells himself. I tend to think Mirtl has been a net negative overall for the Lawrences. I suspect most of the things that are distractions to them and problematic for the fans - donuts, wearing boxing clothes at A1 etc - were Mirtl's doing.

As for the other riders, where is your comparison? You could only make the claim he's done 'pretty well' for the other riders if you know how other agents working within the same context and conditions would have done.

Not trying to defend Mirtl at all here, because he’s obviously way out to lunch, but I wouldn’t be the least bit surprised to learn the boxing robe thing was a Feld idea.

Yep it was commonly used when I was in school, haven't heard it much for years though.

Mirtl shot me a message after their first case was dismissed and then moved courts. He sent a fairly shitty message towards me, when I tried to steer it professionally and stated what I knew about it being moved. He said that info was wrong, so then asked him if he wanted to share why it happened or to send a statement if he had one…and he went on a couple paragraph rant / attack instead.

This video comes out and I’m blocked, Vital is blocked, can’t see it. He messages me again about it. I point out that I hadn’t seen it yet due to the fact he blocked me. Then he had some sarcastic response and that was it.

There’s also the whole accusing me of taking payment to publish court docs, then asking me how much it costs to get what he wants up. He also reached out to one of my coworkers and wanted them to write a story (on his current situation) his behalf but wouldn’t go on the record for it. Basically “just take my word for it”.

I don’t need this shit. I can’t wait for the TMZ mess to be over with.

You knew the job was dangerous when you took it.🙃
