Is that the fifth week in a row? I’ve lost count..

Yes I believe that's 5 crashes in 5 weeks that has had an effect on the result.

If it was the Honda, then is it the KTM also?

I've heard him say often that he likes the rear soft..wonder how skatey that makes the front...Just a bees dick more then the other guys? But enough to make it tuck when the rear shock fully extends?...

Head scratcher man..Dude fucking rips one weekend from the back of the pack...then he lays it over whilst leading the next

All the best to him man...it's gotta be tormenting the shit out of him.

At this point, he is surely switching teams next year, right? In 2023, we had an eerily similar unfolding of events. Then, after he signed with KTM, they figured out the Honda for him, and he won the last four in a row, I think?

I suppose he'll probably switch bikes but it's very clear that the bike ain't the problem. The problem is 100% in his head.

Don't matter now. The Webb wagon is rolling coal and will be hard to catch. Webb showed he has the speed last night, something we haven't seen much in his 450 career. Look for more bone head mistakes from Chase for the rest of the season.

I have Sexton to win the last 3-4 weeks ……I just can’t see C.Webb winning….IDK if its the hat, the facial expressions or the dough boy looking physique….but he keeps getting the  job done while Sexton falters….last night was a snoozefest….

I'm gonna go ahead and call this championship for Webb.  I was there last night.

Agree that it’s not the bike, it’s the rider. I just keep wondering if his setup is off just a little, like ChaTTer said, making the bike less forgiving than it should be? Setup is still the riders job, so not blaming KTM (or Honda) at all.. it’s just hard to see his speed not producing the wins that he could be getting easily if he just had better consistency.

I bet the next bike does the same things..

People talking about a soft rear but his forks also dives much compared to the rest of the riders bikes.

Thank god he got rid of that awful Honda that used to make him crash…

With 8 races left, the title is still up for grabs.

Giving my own post a thumbs up. 👍

It's not the bike. He didn't look good on that bike last year but when he's been on this year, that bike looks incredible. Whether he's bad at setup or he's just a head case, the bike isn't holding him back. I'm a Chase fan and he's just looking like a total head case to me. It's disappointing when he can be so otherworldly at times.

Another 3rd place finish behind Webb in 1st and Webb won’t have to win another race just finish 2nd every time.

If he doesn’t re-sign with KTM where does he go? Honda has the Lawrence’s and Yamaha has Webb/Tomac so they’re out. Kawasaki has Prado. Suzuki with Roczen? Develop the Ducati or Triumph? He wants to be the #1 rider I think his only option is to stay with KTM.

There are big changes coming, I think all the rest of the stadiums this year are open air. We are in for some game- changing mud races.

It's not in his "head", or mental as people call it. It's all his riding style.

If he get a perfect or great setup, it will hide how he lives on the edge constantly. A beaten up track, his margin shrinks. He has only two speeds. Full ahead or 4-8 place speed. You saw the later yesterday when he got dropped.

So many examples from yesterday where you can see he doesn't have a finger on the clutch, when you really need it. Going through that kind of sand section or "whoops" without it? No one has the reaction time to engage clutch quickly enough without a finger on it.

When others can pull in the clutch and prevent a stall, fall or whatever. He can't. That's why you see so many mistakes. He is counting on that front end doesn't push, or he don't get thrown sideways in whoops.

Been wondering about that too. The mistakes are on him, but an injury might explain the late race fades.

I remember when Steve Sax went through this problem.
The yips

Steve Sax's struggles:

In 1983, Steve Sax, a Dodgers second baseman, inexplicably began having difficulty making routine throws to first base. He made 30 errors that season, and his throws were so wildly errant that some fans started wearing helmets.

"Steve Sax Syndrome":

His struggles became so well-known that the term "Steve Sax Syndrome" emerged to describe second basemen who can't throw to first base.

The "Yips":
Sax's situation is often cited as an example of the "yips," a condition in which a player suddenly loses the ability to perform a simple, previously mastered movement, like throwing a baseball.

Disagree.  Windham never won a title in 18 ? years of racing pro. He also didn't crash or fall that much.

Chase certainly need to spend some time with a therapist, focus is not his best attribute.

Jeff Emig seemed to struggle with a similar  phenomenon in 98 .  The whoops were his nemesis .  There was a couple races where he got good starts and ended up finishing outside the top 10 without crashing .  It was strange .

And KDub has admitted he didn't put everything he had into being a champion and relied on natural talent. Polar opposite from Chase

He’s mentally weak. That’s kinda all is comes down. If you had a video game controller for Chase he’d never lose as long as Jett’s not in the field

chase fan here but he is a total headcase......reminds me of chad reed (not the head case part) but constantly searching for a perfect setup ....which does NOT exist.

its a mirage CHASE let it go.....the pumpkin is good enough mate.
