This prototype is from 2011-2012, a couple of years before Gasgas and Ossa signed an agreement to produce the Ossa trial at the Gasgas plant.
What good times, and what a shame that, as always in the Spanish motorcycle industry, all dreams, development and innovation are frustrated by lack of support, investment and management.
I know someone who examined that Ossa in the factory while he was there on business. He said that the motor was mostly plastic and non-functioning and was told it was made just as a proof of concept platform...He showed me the pictures on his phone to prove he was there looking at the bike.
I was very disappointed!

That's what bikes - well, new products - start out as - proof of concept platforms, with a fair bit of 'fakery'.
It's how it goes - start with mock ups, and go from there.
The article I found, said they'd built one (or 2?) up using the existing Trials engine, with the same (Trials) EFI system. And, that is what brought the discussion of the changes to the EFI system, that would be needed to produce the far more power needed for an Enduro bike, over the Trials bike.
Cripes, you go to EICMA etc, and a fair percentage of the bikes you'll see, are non functioning 'things'.
Though, I have to say, years ago at Cologne, that I was at, when they started up the H2 (Supercharged) Kawasaki, with what I think was a very 'non roadworthy' Exhaust, it was a hell of a thing. It shook the Hall - it was, Magnificent!
I wish I could recall the interesting stuff about the Radiator / Fuel Tank and Airbox on The Pioneer. It was all a bit unconventional, and if I had a guess about their various positions, years after I read about it all, I'd sure as s**t get it wrong 😁
It's just a damned shame that OSSA went under.
One thing you can say about the Spanish MC Industry and Enthusiasts - they have a Go, when so many others, Do Not.
Recent info I've found on OSSA 2025, is they've new ownership, and that they are going to be doing E Bikes........

The rumors that were heard here were that only one prototype was built, which is the one that used at Eicma. Rumors say that it was seen riding enduro in the Girona area, but there were never any pics, the doubt of whether it was a functional prototype was always there.
The layout of the engine meant that the tank could be lowered, occupying part of the usual place of the cylinder and thus lowering the center of gravity. The tank itself was part of the air filter box, located very high, where the fuel usually goes.
Others also tried to renew Bultaco with electric bikes a few years ago, but it ended up in bankruptcy.
I'm hearing we will see the bike next week. They have been releasing other new product every couple days.
To be able to take both the gearbox and crankshaft without split the cases would be otherworldly... now that's innovation, only seen in MotoGP I believe. What are the big manufacturers doing in their R&D bunkers? Why isn't this already the norm for bikes with short service intervals?

Never before, nor ever, will a two stroke Kawasaki be labelled ‘KLX’.
Kawasaki had another teaser video on IG that seemed like it was for the side by side market with a turbo charged H2 engine in it… the comment section had 85% responses that were something like this, and i’m paraphrasing, … no one cares where is the two stroke MX bike, or, when are you releasing the new two stroke!!! 😂

Good catch. I completely forgot about a lighting circuit. Given a choice between with or without lights, I'd buy one with them.
Salesmen for a huge Kawi store here. Kawi is really on the rampage to take over the market on everything. they brought out a HVAC SXS,a great electric golf cart, and some neat electric bikes for kids. Really think there going after the ktm enduro market with the woods stuff. I expect to see the 300 which our rep is hinting towards. But it may be in two flavors.
Then KTM fixed it in '23 with TBI. The new ones rip like the old ones, but better.
The 125, to me, makes the most logical sense. If you're trying to grow your customer base, and attract buyers to your brand or KEEP buyers on your brand, it addresses: lower purchase price, lower maintenance cost, simpler maintenance, fills a hole in your line-up, the resurgence of, popularity of, recognition of the importance of the 125 as a class and a stepping stone to bigger bikes.
PS: Nevermind the sound of the bike in the teaser, do you really think the marketing people making tweets are that savvy? It sounds like a loaded-up craigslist special.

Likewise BARGE. I do Kawi sales in Michigan, and when I mentioned a KX300 our rep hinted toward as well just last week. As an avid off-roader a KX300X is what I told my peers; maybe a 3-something like the 112. Regardless excited for the fresh foot traffic (which will probably late Fall so that works right?)
And yes, Kawasaki is active on many fronts all of a sudden. We just brought in a 20" e-bike and it's a load of fun in the showroom during downtime (or not).
Unless you follow the KTM 125 plan and make it impossible/highly impractical for the buyer to tune/modify without major expense and aggravation, not to mention questionable performance and reliability. Then it sounds like the anti-plan for success.

They brought it up at a supercross and the SX announcers (AC) said it was a full size race bike. A 300cc woods and MX version makes sense to me.
And that’s it? “We heard you…” The only voices calling for two stroke return, and the only voices Kawasaki heard, was for a 300?
Oh, and maybe an updated 85 and 65?
