Time to dial down the pyro
owner likes to get the sun in but not the smoke out 🙄
Stadium not ventilating as much to save heating costs?
need to dump the excessive pyro....geeze looked like the 2 stroke silverdome races back in the 80s

Too much pyro in opening ceremonies
Drop the displays out of the gate.
Leave them for the end of the last race.
This is miserable.
Roof is barely cracked….but it is still a little chilly here in the DFW area. That said there is still some haze lingering from opening ceremonies…it was real bad for the first 250 race.
Looks like Kiedrowski on the screen....lol
Maybe Mirtl snuck into the stadium and was having a quick pipe...
I think it was like -15° F at the last Minneapolis race and they didn’t vent the air out so it wasn’t freezing in the stadium and everyone had bloodshot eyes because they weren’t airing it out to keep the temps inside warm. Between the pyros and exhaust, a lot of people were not happy and there may have been a class action lawsuit if I’m remembering correctly.
When I was watching the opening ceremonies live in Detroit a few of the mortar fireworks were hitting the cloth banners covering the whole ceiling. My wife asked... "Woah.. is that safe?" It was honestly pretty sketchy.
I second getting rid of the indoor pyro.
Maybe use em outside and indoor go lights and lasers for effect? Also when I wrote this I heard the word “laser” in my head like Dr Evil
I was at Detroit last weekend and the smoke lingered for a good 30 min after opening ceremonies. Was wondering how the riders were able to see. Between the pyro show and being at the stadium for 8 hours, breathing race gas, I had no voice and throat was hurting after the main event. Ventilation was definetely not great at ford field. Looked the same in Arlington
Thats what I was gonna say. The pyro is cool and shit but nobody shows up for the fireworks show. If its an enclosed dome just use lights and music. Were here for the racing and if you cant even see the first race because theres so much smoke they gotta back it down. The last 2 weeks have been ridiculous. I dont think anybody will care if there isnt a million fireworks before the show. The only pyro I care about is the flames going off at the gate drop and the flames going off at the checkers, besides that really dgaf.
Which was OK back then because of, well, you know, THE SMELL! 🙂
The haze is just another obstacle in SX
This was a complaint at last years race in Arizona. Everyone was complaining of red eyes, burning throats, and headaches. Looks like nothing is being done at all. At least its included in the ticket price and no extra charge
Spicoli!!!!!!
Pit Row
I bet they could easily make them 'smokeless', and same price. Except, somehow, they want an extra 100k for it!?
Although I agree that the smoke the last 2 weeks was insane, both Glendale and Arlington had the roof cracked open about 20 feet this year. Last year they were both closed.
The fume-gate was 2 years ago at Glendale in 2023. They had it fixed in 24 and this year. Now that I think about it, I don't seem to recall much pyro in the opening ceremonies this year.
Funny about the Camel cigarettes. They said they did not want beer and cigs as sponsors because of the minors racing the series.
Now they have jumped into the deep end of the pool of Sports gambling.....which you need to be 21. Perplexing.
At the Glendale round, the roof was open about twice that and the air was clean.
I was there last night and 10-15 minutes before opening ceremonies there were smoke machines pumping smoke all through the stadium. I’m assuming it’s to accentuate the lasers but it was a bit much last night.
once again FELD shows their disney on ice roots. imagine teh NFL making 8 figure athletes breath sulfur fumes in zone 5 (heartrate).
They also do military appreciation and have WWII veterans on hand then have loud explosions that make everyone jump and I imagine trigger ptsd on the poor vets. When I was younger at an airshow the fake "bombs" caused a vet in our vicinity to have flashbacks and feel like he was back in war so I assume the vets on hand might have similar experiences.
I went to a fireworks show in San Diego a few weeks back. After the show, there was a Supercross race. True story.
The first 250 race was inexcusable. That looked even worse than '22 Minneapolis incident. And we have 40ft side doors on the building to vent and they didn't open them. They have to start thinking about crowd experience and potential lawsuits more than the heating bill.
I was there and before opening ceremonies I kept thinking “what’s the deal with the smoke machines surrounding the track?” Guess all the cannons and fireworks and flame throwers weren’t enough so they pre-smoked the place. The stadium has a giant roof that can be opened but we all know that button never gets pushed and both end zones of the stadium open. When me and the fam got home I pulled the races up right away to see how it looked and wasn’t surprised how foggy it looked. I’m all for a big show but I’d much rather have a clear view of the races we paid to come see. Still had a blast though and finally have the little one getting interested in the world of moto so can’t complain too much!
Pyro almost took me out one year.. was leaning against it during opening ceremonies not even realizing what it was and next thing you know I see Dirt Shark yelling at me to run away and I was super confused but I listened to him and I felt that neck burn happen right behind me lmao... ok sorry story time is over
