Glendale track

Glendale tracks have always been very spectacular to watch.. high speed, huge jumps, long sand section, long start, technical dry hard base.. u name it.. But what it lacked in the past it was still a pretty one lined track all things considered. But yesterday.. name a better track from the past years?? Not a single one comes to mind.

It was great!

Best track for racing i can remember.  The giant singles that are steep, but not vertical walls they have to roll.  Made for great moments throughout the night.  Plus the turn before the whoops was a perfect example of how to do a small split lane.  

Yea very good track. To be honest all of the first 4 tracks have been good. 

Basically,  no 90deg turns.  And the singles to flat made for a huge variety of lines.  It was a good track for racing for sure.  

I liked Sextons line across the wall jump by the start line to the inside of the rhythm lane.  

But the way they were hucking that single before the finish line was incredible.

Nice track layout, dirt looked good, @ 60 sec lap time. No complaints here.

Just listened to a bunch of post race interviews and I'm now convinced the key to good tracks such as this is do not listen to anything most of the riders have to say about it. Sexton was the only one who seemed to have anything good to say about it and dismissed a lot of the other's concerns as just being afraid of consequences but that's SX.

I mean in the riders defense who wants to spend the night slamming from the sky? They probably have some sore backs today. I can say with certainty that what we and the pros like to ride/race vs what is best for racing is not always in the same ball park. 

Glendale needs to get an SMX Finals round.

Big indoor floor space, huge outside area to go outside the stadium, even elevation up the ramp outside.

Imagine if the let them tarp and plywood over the field rolled outside also. 2 football fields worth of SMX track would be sick.

You know they are throwing those wheel sets and frames used last night in the trash Monday morning 😂

The track created some good racing. I'm glad to see the track builders cleaning up the sides of the obstacles. Helps the guys out if they go off to the side for whatever reason. Like with Hill last night. Now how about them tuff blocks....

Best track, location, stadium and pit party on the tour. Great event. Glendale 2?

Not very often we get a glimpse of how hard these guys can send it - the equipment i'm sure took some beatings - guessing there a few sets of wheels and some frames headed for the practise bike pile.  

The hucking of that single before the finish line was even crazier during the 2nd qualifying session. On Jett's last qualifying lap he pretty much landed at the base of the finish line take off. Cra-zay!

I noticed that by the 3rd mains, there were fewer riders launching to flat off of those steep singles.  

And I read somewhere that bikes were getting damaged, mostly wheels I believe, and axles were also getting bent.

Best track I've seen in awhile.

Probably some sore necks on the riders as well, I was sitting by the finish line and watching them huck that single and landing their head and necks were slammed down, imagine it wasn't real fun for them. They worked on the face before the third race and it really reduced the jumping. 

Say it every year....we need better tracks like this one.   The repeat-o-cross tracks get pretty old, real quick. 

Best tracks we have had in a few years. 

Flat turns usually suck, but a bigger radius like the last turn before finish was great, the sand was great too, fast and flowed well. I’m surprised there wasn’t any big ones, track was very fast and big jumps. But it definitely showcased how damn good these guys are. On off before whoops was brilliant. 

The whoops were great too. Skim speed was all that mattered. 

I thought it sucked, the top guys really didn't have much passing or separation. Most supercross is start dependent, but this track was definitely get top 5 out of the first corner or bust. 

I don't know... a lot of ski jumps,  dry slick and hard packed. I like watching slower, rutted and more technical. 

I’m not crazy about them jumping onto flat ground. 
 

Tomac, Sexton, Kenny, and Justin Hill all seemed to have no problem finding ways to make passes up through the field. 

I thought there were several nice jump options that allowed for consequential amounts of time to be made up if they cleaned them, and lose time if they couldn’t do the entire big rhythm.

A lot of the riders may have complained about the track being "dangerous", but we really didn't see many crashes.... were there even any injuries sustained aside from Futures?

Supercross is supposed to be daunting and dangerous. Even if tracks are "easier", injuries will still occur at a similar rate because more riders will be confident in nailing everything, which results in a bunch of non-elite guys trying to find speed that is above their skill level. Think Detroit 2022... half the field crashed out, not because the track was treacherous, but because Eli was schooling the whole field and the other riders were doing everything they could to find comparable speed.

The sand section was a little strange not being able to see it except on the big screen. 

Walls slow speeds and lap times over 1 minute are really good. 

The turn and obstacles before the woops was extremely technical.
