Even if it’s just a trail bike… how cool would it be to have a KDX200 available again? Play bikes are fun! Guessing it’s made in Thailand like their KLX bikes? Hope that doesn’t mean it’s heavy.
I’m strictly just guessing due to the “green” yz250 that they used in one of the science of supercross last year. But some thoughts to why a partnership is cost, time to market and Kawasaki has done similar things before with Suzuki on the RMZ/KXF250.
My guess.
KDX220
Low cost, trail bike.
Well look no further…

So someone at MXA saw the same PR and is insinuating that it’s a new KX? Based on what? Unless they stated they have more info than what’s publicly released (which they didn’t), that’s pretty piss poor reporting. They even say they’ll have to change their current naming scheme for the MX bikes because of it. It’s like someone asked an AI chat to make an article about the Kawasaki Instagram post and just ran with it.
Any idea on release date?
Steel or Aluminum frame?
Showa or….K Y B???
Regardless of how neutered it comes stock, I’m a buyer of any 2 stroke DS, but I’m quite confident you’re wrong.
What pronouns does it prefer?
They also said with prices going up everywhere due to inflation… maybe in everyday goods. But the Offroad/mx market is on a down trend. I think your right it may have been AI written.
IMO an Mx model would be a misstep. The XC/Offroad market is where most 2 stroke enthusiasts are.
Please be closer to the “X” line of off-road bikes and made in Japan.
A 19” rear wheel and kickstand removal away from being able to ride some moto.
Please. Please. Please.
I guess this is out the door................
They didn't say that the naming would have to change at all. Even a little bit. They asked the question and then offered a guess at the answer. Not the same thing.
Yeah, we’ll have to wait and see but I guess what I was getting at is the KX naming is designated to their motocross line up bikes and everyone else that seems to be in the know is hinting at it being an off road/xc bike. It’d be like saying “Suzuki’s developing a new RMZ!” before they dropped the updated DRZ-400.
It sounded like a 2t you say???
Do we actually think we’ll find out what it is today. Or is this a teaser for another teaser?
Guess they'll be sold as "used" bikes so no one calls them on that.
Another Triumph striptease?
Pit Row
Somebody told me 2 years ago Kawasaki was working on a 125 2-stroke, I didn’t take it too seriousky and only believe it when I see it.
Okay, sorry. I should’ve said they reinforced that it’s a motocross bike by asking and answering their own question implying that it’s a new two-stroke KX as the title states.
That was definitely not a 125 but we can still dream.
Not necessary if it is a 300!! who cares about AMA displacements (125/250).
the AMA position on (killing the) two stroke is obsolete junk at this point.
I did not know they were oil injected.
I am not a "two stroke guy" , but plenty old enough to have riddeen two strokes a whole lot throughout the 80's and 90's. the bike I always thank of when there is a discussion of simple, affordable bikes that SHOULD be available is the KDX.
These types of non cutting edge, non competition bikes are extremely capable, not intimidating, and at least as much fun as any new bike, two or four stroke, and in the final analysis, it is really all about fun anyway...
This news is certified boner worthy.
Just a reminder that Honda is the only OEM that isn't making any 2 stroke. They can suck it
I am all in for a KX 250 2 stroke, but if they revive the KDX, even the same one being sold 20 years ago, I would be just as happy.
The off road world embraced the 300 long time ago...so you are probably in for something even better
They’d better not release some emisson restricted, crappy suspension, heavy, boring, two stroke (like the two stroke equivalent of the klx300)…that would be a major disappoint…they’d better go full on Mx bike or off road race bike…250 or 300…
