What do you suggest he does, run into Hunter instead that controls the race being in front? Hunter turns down sharp, Jett follows in his line.
Barcia is far behind. If he have to, he should give up his position to Friese. You can't head straight into trafic because you didn't go inside line in that corner to protect himself from Friese.
This situation could occur in every 180 corner for at least the first lap if everyone take that approach that Barcia took. That should say something.
(Edit: Friese made the inside corner, Barcia did not, he would have lost his position anyway)
100% Barcia.
Tell me you don’t race without telling me you don’t race…
It was preordained by track design that someone would get T boned in that corner. Imagine if you found the center point of the corner with a string and pivot point. If you put the track boundary bigger than the corner center, you have an "open" design that encourages T bones. If you put the boundary more toward the outside it discourages T bones as shown with the "virtual cone" I drew in below.
Another one of these comments. So please, explain it for me.
Stewart cuts down in a 180, coming off a triple into the corner. Dungey comes in already at a bad angle to make the turn but comes up short and off balance making it even more difficult to get on the brakes to make the turn. You can see him adjust his position on the bike to slow up as much as he can. Stupid move by Dungey too, but it doesn't take away that a mistake in the section before attributed to the outcome.

I always blamed Dungey for coming in hot. He was not protecting a line. Here I blame Jett for cutting under a rider who was already cutting down and closing off the corner. Bam Bam was protecting his line assuming he didn’t want to get Friesed.
It's called racing.
Just imagine if this was Deegan.
I don't think it was intentional either-if it was Friese I would think differently. In any case, Barcia came in waaaayyyy too fast to do anything but what he did, to anyone that was in the way. If no one was there he would have had a hard time making the corner by himself. Just poor race craft to me. I still don't get what he was trying to do there. And again, I don't care that it was Jett, could have been Chiz.
In my opinion if Vince wasn’t coming in hot to the inside of Barcia the incident could have been avoided or at least not as severe.
What we saw on TV and the one pic on here doesn't tell the story but does look like Hunter cut down and Jett cut down a lot more but without seeing what was going on behind Barcia don't think you can make a fair assessment?
Maybe Jett's middle finger was damaged in the crash?
What's the white line?
Even if Jett comes out and says we're all good ,it was just racing ,we move on . There will still be people online who make it their life's work to let everyone know how wrong barcia was .
Jett’s turn down was overly aggressive, requiring him to back off the throttle. Barcia was charging and could have executed the corner, albeit somewhat awkwardly. Both made bone-headed decisions which hopefully don’t negatively impact the season.
Read it somewhere Barcia talked to him after the race. Had his hand on Jett's shoulder and if you're reading body language he was probably apologizing
I saw the video this morning and it looked like a civil conversation judging from body language ,no abrupt movements, no aggressive arm movements or helmets shaking violently while talking..
I’ve watched it quite a few times. Track layout had a lot to do with it. Hunta took a similar approach as Jett just not as far inside. Barcia wanted to square up in all together different part of the corner with VF doing the same but trying to get inside. Corners like that are asking for trouble, but it just racing.
Pit Row
Looks to me that Barcia is out front, just headed the wrong way. Probably ready to perform a brake slide turn.
Barcia's projected line
Looks like Jett's projected line to me but what do I know. Could be what Justin was expecting him to do, just sayin'.
Turn down for what!
Racing incident. You shouldn't turn down like that in the first few corners and Barcia came in too hot. Perfect storm.
They should put you in the booth, I love the analogy 😂
No I didn't.... because it's his normal M.O. Even during the broadcast JT was blaming Barcia so I did not care to listen.
Damn a couple more of those and the points gap is erased! Nice work Bam Bam! Sarcasm alert, you dumb Aussies.
10% Barcia, 10% Jett, 80% Friese the way I see it.
Track layout? As in left hand turns? 🙄 But its just a random coincidence that the human pinball machine Justin "Bam Bam" Barcia was the one to deliver the mist violent t-bone in 5 years; while the rest of the field was able to manage the 'layout'.
You guys are so naive.
He never has that problem when he gets the start...
But then we get to listen to how unbeatable he is...
Clearly was Hunter's fault. He was in Jett's way and slowing him down. Maybe Eli's fault too...who is he to get a holeshot???
Barcia, "Why was that Jett guy riding right in front of me like that! Geez!"
Could be track design. For sure, NOT Vince's fault. Come on people.
If Jett was not there Barcia would have easily made the pivot/slide turn...but Jett was there. Stuff happens.
I tend to agree. His turn down even required the smoothest rider on the track to dab his foot.
Post a reply to: Barcia/Lawrence what really happened.
