Not only is this the best decision for himself, but it's best for the team also. If Chase hypothetically could race these next two rounds, but would be 5% off of his best, what good does that do anyone? Is it worth it to get a couple top 5s and not compete for wins, all the while stagnating his recovery with a playoff coming up in which he actually has a chance at winning it? If I'm KTM, I would be 100% fine with this. Now, if he sits out SMX while recovered, they should definitely be upset. But at...

It’s his life and his career and he can and should do what’s in his best interest. But I said early in the season that SMX fucks Pro MX by giving high-performing riders a good reason to skip some of the outdoors in favor of the bigger payday of the Playoffs. This should surprise no one.

Exactly. I get some of the criticism he takes but people are so quick to forget this is the same guy who already came back mid season when he didn't have to and was arguably the best guy out there in those two races. Anyone else ever fight Jett like that? You have to have a real selective memory to convince yourself the guy doesn't care, doesn't put in the work, isn't willing to put himself out there, etc etc etc...... yet the last thing some are ever going to do is give him benefit of the doubt.
