What a selfless, caring move by Noren; cooler yet the acknowledgement by the AMA and ensuing reward. 

They have to pay?

As outlandish as it sounds, all major motorsports have some type of entry fee.

Freddie had a deal last year (  think it was last season) pay his  entry and get a race Jersey, I did it expecting whatever jersey and didn't realize it was the St Judes round so I ended up with a pretty cool jersey for relatively short money , pretty cool 

For those that didn't look at the link, Max had to pay $1.4M for his 2024 super license, based on last year's points.

I'm sure there is something in his contract with Red Bull where that doesn't come out of his pocket, but same general craziness of professional athletes paying to perform. 

Noren is a class act!  Some riders probably would have flipped the downed rider the bird and thrown a tantrum.  No one specific in mind….just sayin.

Freddie's got a good heart and it's cool for the AMA to recognize it. Well done everyone! 

Freddie is first class.  No matter his results, to hear him speak after a Moto, you'd swear he won because he is so grateful.  Sportsmanship at it's finest.  Kids, take notes......  This is an elder you can learn from.

Rolex 24 hour drivers on the private teams pay up to $20K to the team just to drive the car. That was somewhere around 2008.

Someone commented last week that Freddie was a liability.  I still don't know because he doesn't get much coverage but when he does it tells me he's a stand up dude.  Still a fan.

He really flattened him, I would have  been concerned too. Stand up dude.

The only negative to this story is that the AMA charges the performers who fill the stadium to race. POS AMA needs revamped 

Noren is a great guy for doing that with Hill. 

Freddie is a really good rider and a great dude.  We need more guys like him and fewer like dangerboy.

When I started to read that, the 10,000 / 11,000 Euro (starting) license fee was not at all surprising. It's going to cost me over $6 /700.00 for licensing if I do the Masters World DH Championships in Cairns in a couple of months. Yes, a bloke on Sticks and Crutches is thinking of doing DH again. Cairns is half a (semi) reasonable track - the other half is a bloody flat, twisty pedal fest through a jungle= absolutely crap.

But Wow, things really rack up with the price per point set up they have in F1.

But, with what Max made last year, and the probable payment of it by his Team / Red Bull, it would be sweet FA to him.

Interesting stuff - even if I take little to no notice of F1.

As for Freddie - he's a Gem of a Bloke.

It's good to see the AMA / Feld recognizing his care and concern for another rider. That was a hell of a hit on Hill.

Fast Freddie is one of the best guys in the sport. We've been stoked to support him for the last few years and hopefully many more!

So to hijack this a bit, (and yes Noren's move to check on a competitor was awesome) how much does it cost a rider to enter a supercross? Yearly license, individual race entry fees, etc? Not counting bikes, transportation, etc., as those costs are so variable per rider. How about outdoor MX entry fees?  

It has been a few years but the last I saw it was $250 for the license, $200 entry fee, $50 mechanic pass

When Noren first came to the US to race, wasn't his girlfriend his mechanic? If I'm remembering this right (you know CRS), what a cool story!

Yes. I pitted with him under the Novik tent at Thunder Valley. 

Amy got the boot a couple of weeks later as he was under the Honda tent. 

It's ironic isn't it. The people that put on the show that makes the organizers big dough have to pay for the privilege of doing so. On top of that the purse money in this sport has been a complete joke until last year.
