Coolant shouldn't be brown. Are you sure there's no cross contamination with oil in the coolant/coolant in the oil? I'd be concerned about that first and foremost. I'd also double check cam lobes when that valve cover is off if the engine was running ... more »

As Murph stated... remove valve cover, clean mating surface under the half circles on head and put a thin layer of yamabond or black RTV silicon and reinstall gasket cover. I'm sure it even calls for that in the service manual and there's a possibility ... more »

I believe it is called a dog bone cushion bracket or dog bone cushion absorber. However, I can't locate one just on a basic search. There are some search listing that pop up for ebay listing, but they are long gone when you try to navigate to them.

Did you experience this loss of "snap"? I figure a paper gasket would compress the extra. 005 to give you the same height as a metal gasket after torque. I could be wrong though, wouldn't be the first time.

Look on the cases around the oil drain plug, water pump, radiator hoses, etc. And look for the highest point on the bike that's wet and you'll find the origin. I don't see green, but if it is indeed green and you use green coolant, look around the radiator, ... more »

You can check the pistons and seals in the caliper and ensure there's no dirt stuck in there as well. Hard to believe the caliper itself is bent, but I guess anything is possible.
