My wife developed HELLP syndrome when she was pregnant with our 2nd child. I was born with faulty kidneys. The two local hospitals tried , but could not do anything to help. The second one told my parents of the new kidney dialysis work that was being done at UCLA. They donated me to science , but were able to take me home after successful completion of the process. The Dr told my parents he’s gonna make one hell of a drinker. He was wrong 🤣 The biggest miracle in my adult life was putting the drink down and getting sober 40 years ago. My entire life has literally been on borrowed time.

That I lived through my late teen and early 20s. So much stupid, how I lived through those years is definitely a miracle.

I survived being born. My mom told me that at one point the doctors didn't know if she was going to make it or if I was going to make it. Emergency C-section. When I was born, I was blue. They showed me to my mom real quick, she didn't get the chance to hold me, and they took me away to some other place. Not sure what they did, but I'm here.

Our daughter, Ella. She's is the beautiful miracle in our lives.

To be fair, torque on the lower triple clamp pinch bolts does make a difference on feel, but that is one of the very rare exceptions! And it has nothing to do with the bolt being tighter (and somehow stiffer?), but rather that the fork tube gets distorted and the lower fork bushing will bind up as it passes through the triple clamp area.

Here's my take: Sweep: This is what I notice. Give me less of it and I'm happy. Width: Oh yeah, I think these bars might be wider. Clamping area: Yeah, it fits when I go to put it on the triple clamps. Flex: What's flex? The only time I notice is during the first 2 minutes of riding, then I'm used to it. 3 minutes if the bars are bent.

A few things at play here: Measurement Technique: The measures of all these dimensions seems to different slightly by bar company, so I wouldn't take those number to be an exact comparison. Manufacturing Tolerances: We're talking about a bent, tapered, tube of aluminum here. I bet the bending is consistent bar to bar for the most part, and most importantly right to left. But I wouldn't be surprised if the final numbers had tolerances of +/- 1mm or more. And unless they're cutting that total width after the bending, That's the value that will vary the most as 4 bends...

I have retired from College Football beginning with the 2026 season. As an alumni member, for many years we poured 10's of thousands of dollars into a major program each year and dedicated our fall months to it. We hosted huge catered tailgates with as many as 100 people there. I knew every player and every recruit's story and progression through their career. We all need to let him know that he did the right thing during an incredibly difficult and horrible situation.

I hope...I pray...that he's doing well with dealing with this. He's obviously a good dude and he's got a lot to deal with. Look at the 1st thoughts he has after removing the threat to all those kids...? A damn good dude.
