I think it is horseshit that we allow a move like that in our sport. A good block pass is one thing but blatantly TBONING the shit out of someone when you are nowhere near close enough to make it happen just looks dumb imho. If I was Shock I would have dotted "Deegs" eye for him.

Coty experienced racing about one week after collarbone surgery, back in 2021. He's tough and his story isn't over yet, I can almost guarantee we'll see him on the line in Indy. Cool

I hope so, great interview he gave. 1st class guy all the way, rides with a lot of heart. Gotta pull for him, how could you not and he has so much potential…

Is it real info ? Cause Shock was interviewed after and it didn't look like he was injured.

The pass on Schock was aggressive, but not terrible. I don’t blame Schock’s fans from being upset, but it’s not really an objective viewpoint, I think.

The other Deegan incidents last night were different, and obviously cloud the issue of the final pass.

My grade of the 3 significant incidents that Deegan was involved in last night are:

Hammaker crash and resulting behavior on the track,  D+

Going to the PC truck and flailing his arms around bizarrely,  F

Last turn pass on Schock for an extra point in the championship race,  B-

Like everyone else, I feel horrible for Schock. But Deegan didn’t even knock him to the ground.  Riding with a cracked collarbone is valiant, but it’s a risk that you take when you line up for the gate drop. You don’t get a bubble around you simply because you chose to ride injured.

That being said, I hope that ML is correct and Schock is able to return fairly quickly. He’s made a fan out of me. He also looks incredibly a lot like my oldest son!

He appeared to be keeping his right arm still and that side looked a little droopy. Raised his left arm up in the interview. Deegan hit him on his left side. Angry mob will still say Deegan broke it. Facts be damned!

The pass on Schock was aggressive, but not dirty. The outcome sucks for Coty but it's hard racing.

But let's look at the rest of the 38's night: Poor qualifying, outside gate in the heat, makes a relatively high risk sweep to the inside and tangles with Hammaker. Hissy fit one is pushing Hammaker's bike to the ground, and shoving the track worker. Then he doubles down by going to the PC pits (where Hammaker's mom owns him). Then in the main, as others have pointed out he clearly goes off track by his own choice and gains positions. Then does the Schock move, which in isolation is not so bad.  Then according to people on site, Brian is losing it on the officials for docking Haiden for the positions gained. It's all just classless.

Everyone loved Travis Pastrana over Brian because he was always classy, more than anything else. Brian had a chance with Haiden to turn the ship around, but instead they are going for the bad boy image with the kid as well.  Haiden will suffer the same fate as Brian, he will always be looked as a punk compared to whoever ends up being his career-defining rival. But the clicks are more important to that family, and it is quite sad.

The mob has clearly already assembled with the torches lit in here for Deegan but that pass was for position and is part of racing Supercross. Nothing wrong with that pass but, again, the mob has already made up its mind so downvote away.

Except, it wasn’t a pass was it??

Agreed, we don't need this destruction derby shit, it makes the races worse and takes away from the respect that these guys skill deserve, it's the kind of crap that makes people think we're just some hick, circus, bumper car sideshow.

Hard racing, a little rubbing, a decent block pass, taking a line away, that's alllll good... decking someone or straight up t-boning a dude and smashing him off the track is just lame.

*Edit. I don't think the pass on Coty was terrible, but it was unnecessary to go in that hard on a dude with a duff shoulder... Deegan would be the first to cry foul if someone hit him and he banged his wrist up further.

To be fair, deegan went to seths pit solo, and seth had a army of people saying go away… speculation how do we know he was going to fight him? He could’ve wanted to talk man to man but the spoiled bratt who caused the damn crash has his whole family hide him away…. man the fuck up and talk 1 on 1 on the camera.

so i lost respect for seth based on multiple start crashes then hiding behind his family when the rider went to see whats up.

we didnt see any of haidens family with him or his pit crew on the walk over. So no i dont agree with alot of the takes.

DQ’ed for unsportsmanlike conduct would have been a better choice given to the punk. Deegan just got a slap on his wrist with a straw.

Coming from a fan of Coty's, Deegan's pass on Schock wasn't too terrible, considering it was for position and he's supposedly a title contender. Combine it with the rest of his actions last night, however, and Dangerboy lost a LOT of points with me.

They’re just downvoting because there’s too much to defend. Im not even sure what looks the worst for him from yesterday. But its definitely one of the two reactions he had to the first turn crash and last turn crash.

Its a toss up between causing a crash with Hammaker, throwing a tantrum point and going off, then pushing his bike over, then trying to start shit in the pits afterwards.

Or making an aggressive last turn pass to finish 7th, injuring the rider and then laughing about it afterwards.

The track cutting to gain an advantage is so minor in comparison to these incidents. Although i think those 2 combined show not only how much of a brat he is, but that he is a hypocrite too. He causes the first turn crash, throws a tantrum blaming someone else. Then he intentionally punts a dude on the track, injures him and laughs about it. He thinks no one has the right to contact him (even when its his own fault), but he can do whatever the fuck he wants to others? Atleast be consistent. If he wants to ride dirty, he should expect others to ride him dirty.

The Smith incident last year is all anybody needed to know about him. The posse was there to ride the haters into oblivion. He said he likes to ride that way. So far nobody has taken him up on that.

You are forgetting supercross is a traveling circus, run by Barnum & Bailey (Feld Entertainment), the riders are the entertainment, some are sold as heros, some are sold as villains, most of the paying audience do not race, they are there to drink and watch a show.

Unless the AMA changes the rules to specify what is acceptable and what is not, and then enforces the rules, it will remain the same.
