I am a big fan of RD. My very first moto hero. I have zero issue with him managing the team, but sometimes an entire program needs a revamp from top to bottom. Mitch should take a shot. Maybe he can generate a new attitude, a new approach that will get some guys excited about going.
ETA: I guess I didn't realize just how polarizing of a figure DeCoster has become.
I did.
He's 79 years old. How many of ya'll know a 79 year old that is still operating at 100%?
It's FAR past time that he steps down.
Roger had about as much to do with last year's win as he does with the USA not sending a team this year. It's not him entirely. It's more the riders and the teams.
I'm the same. Roger is moto in my mind. The folks that are the decision makers need to make the call if they believe it's time for a change.
Unless Roger has lost his faculties completely...he would be the first one to say, "enough"...there's better folks out there. He never accepted mediocrity from himself or others.
There's much more to this story...will we ever know...???

Let’s be clear, the top American riders and teams have no desire to race the top riders in Europe. Every year they treat the MXdN as if it’s a massive burden. Team USA have not sent their best team to a MXdN outside of the USA for at least a decade. They’d all be delighted if this event went away and didn’t bother them anymore. The sooner they admit that, the sooner we can all get on with our lives. The only acceptable excuse for them not sending a team is that they don’t care about the event and don’t want to, because the budget and talent pool they have to work with is massive in comparison to almost every other team competing.
Not like he is doing labor work in the heat. Lol.
Holy sh*t... The pot is helping slather the kettle black. If anybody can recall your opinions and aggression during Covid, it is rich to see you say anything about people being motivated by feelings over facts, you wrote the book.
I suspect the gentleman you are responding to will say Roger represents an OEM. But that has not stopped Roger from bringing on pretty much anybody in the past. I think how certain teams are not allowing riders to race is clouding things to make Roger look like he somehow has some say in that - I don't think this failure falls on his hands either. It is definitely sad to see how this is crumbling, more sad to know why. I do buy the excuse that SMX is a contributor and teams have to draw the line somewhere (this year).
Everybody is entitled to their opinion, but whoever or whatever is to blame for this I just don't understand how anyone can see this as anything but an embarrassing debacle. And I still have a flicker of hope we send some kind of team .
If a team goes it will most likely be solely because of Roger and solely funded by KTM group.
I'd send JuJu on a 250 before Craig on a 250. But ideally Craig mx3 and Hampshire on the 250 would be best. Craig has always been a beast outdoors on 450.
Exactly. He's not the problem... just the convenient excuse.
I'm hoping the delayed announcement is because someone is burning the candle at both ends to get a team together. At this late stage it's hard to come to any other conclusion. If there really is no team going there's no value in delaying the announcement.
Is Kawi not going because Anderson hates Roger? Hmmmm
Mike Brown just took his shirt off!
So the #1, 2, & 3 plates won't be represented on the starting line. Awesome!
Roger at 80% is better than the rest at 100%.
All Monster Energy teams are backing out of the Monster Energy FIM Motocross of Nations...
Apparently DeCoster has a supreme court type appointment here. I tend to agree with its time for him to move on. Damn sorry ass state of affairs that the US had this issue all to often, embarrassing AF actually. Good luck to Chile and other shoestring budget teams that show.
Lord knows they have the funding…

I’m a big fan of Roger and appreciate everything he has done.
But I also think it’s time for a change. But let’s NOT do another person contracted with a bike mfg. No Mitch, no Lars, etc. There is enough conflict to avoid doing that now.
How about Broc? Or Zacho? I’m sure we could find a suitable replacement.
Stupid observation but… why would we want Mitch as the new head if one of the many objections to DeCoster was the ties to KTM? Kawasaki supposedly abandoned the event entirely off of the risk of sharing information, so isn’t it kind of ridiculous to expect everything to work in basically the same context?
I think he’d be great, but objectively I don’t see how that solves any problems.
Broc Helper would objectively be great.
Trey Canard
What about your president?
What is the conflict of interest? Is it because he works for KTM? So replace him with Mitch because he has no interest in supporting one manufacturer more than another?
Peep the jersey 🤞🏼
carry on with your debates !
"He's old and talks funny."
You forgot to mention he's foreign!

I would 100% donate money to this.
When Roger is replaced, he needs to be replaced with somebody who doesn't have conflicts of interest, is respected by the industry, and has previous experience as a MXdN team manager...
This appears to be the last ditch effort... I hope they pull it together.
