I was feeling interested in the Triumph for my first 250f in 14yrs but now I see the new '24 YZ 250f rolling out to dealers and I'm starting to "feel dangerous"
Agreed. I'm at the point now that when they finally show the bike we will be like: "damn that's it?, that was what all the hype was for?"
For conversation sake, what will need to be on the bike for you to NOT say "damn, that's it"?
Their mistake was allowing everyone’s great anticipation to flounder into complete annoyance.
You’re right, they should just show the bike. Spy photos are an enjoyable part of a new model roll out, so even that would have tied us over until the launch.
I can’t understand what they were thinking. It’s kinda ruined the anticipation factor at this point.

The views we've gotten on each small bit of release has been pretty huge. So wether it's being commented on positively or not, people are interested based of the views we're seeing.
All the secrecy is bazaar because they're trying to create all this suspense but the chances that it looks really similar to every other bike is high? How different can it really be? It's like trying to re-create the wheel. Chances are it's still going to look like a wheel.
Posting about it in a negative light,on possibly the worlds biggest Mx forum, people in agreement that the anticipation has become an annoyance and others suggesting they'll now buy a different brand?
Absolutley, they've got me on the edge of my seat Brent 👌🏽
Ofcourse we are interested...There's a new dirtbike being released.
A 'view' is a click in a world of people glued to their phone and stuck at their desk.
Thoughts and opinions on the other hand are shared here and it sure sounds like people are over it.
I'm not completely against the rollout concept, I just think it's been a poor execution. One video per week would have been a lot more effective. They could have called it Triumph Tuesday for a month or so and the energy would have been more sustained.
No matter what we think, it won't change the lineup at A1... And we should be happy to see that.
Don't underestimate the Suzuki hate.
Plus, the Triumph will be "all-new." That's one of the things it apparently takes to win shootouts. Never mind if it's "all-better;" that's not important. The Suzuki loses every shootout because nobody likes that it was designed in 1894.
It's always easier to leave a negative comment over a positive one.
I'm not saying they've done a great job with their rollout but it's not going to be some downfall of the brand. They've built a lot of excitement and hype for the brand, the upcoming rollouts of racing info, the facility they've built, partners in the team, etc will get people pretty hyped. Seeing how much money they're investing into the sport, creating jobs and rides, etc.
The bike will be released, it'll sell well, and most will forget the drawn-out launch decisions.
I will never buy another Triumph, it's the worst bike I've ever owned. Constantly having mechanical/electrical problems.
If Triumph offered 0% financing for 72 months negative vitards will change their tune about the brand.
I've got a few before a meeting. In my eyes, I'd be impressed if it was truly from the ground up developed machine that is unique to all the other OEMs. Not a KTM copy.
Prepare for the Sept 5 riding video to be filmed exclusively using the Phil Nicoletti signature camera mount
Honest question..."I'm not saying they've done a great job with their rollout"
Why?
From a marketing perspective, you want people talking about your product, excited for it's release. Triumph, unlike Stark for an example, has created a buzz about it's product on a daily basis. Once Stark unveiled their platform, people were into it for a couple weeks but then the talk died down and was non-existent for a while once they revealed the bike and the release date. Triumph has everyone anticipating it's release. The talk is both good and bad BUT...it's being talked about. This is exactly what they wanted, so IMO it has been a great job on the rollout.
If you're "over it" why leave a comment??
Pit Row
They might also have called an audible with the release plan based on feedback and this is why we're getting a "riding video" next. The idea of releasing it piece by piece makes sense in some ways but after all the wait, people generally want to see the finished product.
That said, it wouldn't shock me if the riding video was on a "disguised" bike... meaning no graphics, undistinguished colorway, etc.
There's no such thing as bad publicity
Here’s what these threads look and sound like, to me
In the end, the most important thing is always what you present and not how. You can generate interest in a product by how you present it, but to sell it the quality, the performance, the innovation, the looks or the price need to stand out.
For me the disappointment doesn’t come from how they’re doing the launch, but from what they presented (the replica engine) so far.
I hope the final product will change my mind.
PR guy chiming in here.... I like the idea of the extended, group by group rollout of the different components (frame, engine, suspension, chassis/bodywork). It makes people pay attention to the details of your product and what makes it unique - and is also great way to shut down that common misperception that it's Austrian. BUT if you are going to roll it out over time, the content needs to be backwards planned from the unveil date and done at a regular cadence. Weekly, bi-weekly, whatever. You want the whole thing to build to the big unveil date. It's the unpredictable timing of this rollout that is frustrating, in my opinion. And when the timing is unpredictable, it gives the impression that the campaign is being made up as it goes along.
Will they have a 2024 450, but no race team? Or is the 450 bike itself coming out a year later as well?
Looking forward to whatever they bring -Triumph has been going in the right direction lately, with all of their product line -
the only negative is that regardless of what comes forward, it's sure to disappoint many on this board, and create too many more" I told you so" threads,
Yeah ----- can't wait.
I like their rollout idea, except it should have been condensed down to one vid per week. It is a little too stretched out, and losing momentum between takes. The motor reveal was a little disappointing for some, obviously. I see no harm in basing their first effort on a known, proven design, and developing independently from there. What manufacturer doesn't reverse engineer or flat out copy their competitions successes? Is everyone who uses KYB suspension copying Yamaha?
It seems like more a delay, stall tactic... All of the other brands are rolling out their 24 models, dealers already have inventory, and they are trying to keep people interested until they are ready to deliver their product.
I have always felt that the European manufactures missed opportunities to sell bikes in the American market in the fall and winter. Probably because most of Europe has cold and wet winters, not ideal for riding. However in America, where the summers are too dam hot, people get back into riding in the fall.
Give them a break! Patience.
They're showing you the parts as they arrive from UPS, but they've got to put the whole bike together first. Sheesh!
And it probably had an oil leak you could never find.....
