I think that there were rumors around years ago about him doing a MX/SX team.  Is he marketing his shoes with his NASCAR  stuff?  Or is he a team owner and selling sponsor space like other teams?

He’s purely in ownership and selling sponsor space at the end of the day. Pretty sure his cars rotate McDonalds, Columbia, Monster & DoorDash (don’t quote me, I don’t actually watch NASCAR). Jordan logos just happen to fit pretty nicely in some areas as well. Then the drivers get some Jordan branded Impact fire suits.

In my mind’s eye, Jordan brand involvement in motocross would probably come first in the form of a rider based endorsement (Jordan brand is essentially high end Nike, so they’re offering all types of sportswear). But, I would think you could potentially put a team in all APG Jordan gear. Thinking pit shirts, pants/shorts, hats, etc. APG is Nikes “outdoorsy” line of stuff.

I would say the military. I know Air Force is one of Fields sponsors, but it would be a great advertisement if you have each branch sponsor a team.

Always thought Ford, Toyota and Mercedes etc should push their van sales through moto. Other than courier companies, you’ll never see more vans than at the track.

Why? Because neither of us knew they were sponsored by WD40? A quick glance at images available of the team and bikes and I don’t see WD40, I could be missing it. Not saying ML doesn’t know what he’s talking about, it’s just that it must be a small sponsorship if I can’t locate them on their gear or bikes kinda defeats the purpose.

We should know as we are the core fans...we've probably have even seen the logos on the bikes and trailers but it didn't register. I would bet if they surveyed 100 fans who were the sponsors of HEP 95 or more wouldn't mention WD40...the question is why? Bottom line its easy for the teams to take the money but what do they really do to bring awareness to that sponsorship? Just put a sticker on the bike? JGR and RCH did it the best but many teams take the money and don't do anything to promote the product and then can't figure out why the sponsor leaves after a few years....

Accurate.  Riders and Teams do not understand ROI.  They just want a deal or the cash because of who they are and some IG tags.....not partnering in growing the Brand that is choosing to sponsor them.

I have always wanted a pit cam brought to you by Verizon(or whoever). These should be available from 1st practice until the end of the day. Charge us more on our peacock. So you would have the choice to go pit to pit and watch what you want. Showing all the sponsors to more eyes, in a bigger view than a blur of a bike .. Also having the option of the “CAT” cam. A go pro mounted on the machines working the track. We nerd out on big machinery and track conditions. Also every track side sponsor banner  will be showing as it grooms.. It would create more sponsors and revenue. Ring some phones, try it for a season. Prove me wrong.

Cat & Pepsi sponsored the Honda gp teams in the 90,s.  Chase Bank would b the biggest sponsor there is because there the largest bank.  MEDS is huge also,  mobile erotic dancing spectacular .  When your thinking mobile erotic entertainment.  Think  MEDs there simply the best . There not like other mobile erotic entertainers. All entertainers hv 2 hrs of fire & safety training.  Because we know you,ll be burning up.

Products and brands that share the same demographic:

Every pick up truck manufacture should be involved with a race team.

Insurance companies

Tool companies

Vans (shock that they haven't got more involved in MX)

Credit / finance companies

GoPro, I know they are better involved with MXGP, but they should have a much bigger presence in American racig

Video game companies like Xbox and Playstation

tech companies like Apple and Samsung

Chic-fil-a, seems to be everyone's favorite place to stop on the way to the track

Slayer (the band) always popular in dirt bike videos, yet they never really took advantage of their popularity in the sport.

There is so little advertising space on moto bikes and jerseys.  Title sponsor is the only one that is generally visible in any meaningful way.  I still believe the Rhino Skins type idea needs to be refined and pushed.

The sport is full of blue collar entrepreneurs so I think heavy equipment manufacturers and or financial arms of those companies, payroll/accounting software companies, and other professional services could be a viable fit.

I'm thinking truck upgrades: tow hitches, trailers, winches, wheels, tires, upholstery, stereos, camera systems, security for bikes.

RVs, especially toy haulers

Barbeques, coolers, portable fire pits, HydroFlask.

8/18/2023 11:31pm

Bicycle manufacturers.
given that we all(most) use bicycles for training.

specialized get involved a bit with Pro-Circuit and was it whisky throttle they sponsored?

we need to get Trek/Cannonde/Canyon and others involved.

2010-Honda-CRF250RALLSTATE Med resI Found a few of them. I've had drives fail and  was not supposed to share any of these images with anybody back then.I might have the rigs and Team shirts that were done for some of the brands who showed more interest  and some of the other bikes on a DVD or CD someplace. I think its been long enough now, and as far as I know the team has not been racing for a while now.  I also did a Busch Light, iPhone,iPod, 5 Gum, Dunkin Donuts, and probable others. The Team owner was a good marketing guy with some big dreams. He ended up inventing an organic mosquito spray and was focused on that last I saw.  When I made these , I used the company websites and advertising   to put together a mock up that went along with their current  advertising look. Mixed in with some of the designs the team had run on the bikes.  2010-Honda-CRF250Rmarine tan32010-Honda-CRF250Rmarine tanlowres2010-Honda-CRF250RmarinepsdCike Honda redNapster copysunoco kx 250 copyNokia kx 450 copy 2

Nice looking mock-ups but here’s the problem:

I’m looking on my phone and unless I stop and zoom in I can’t read the logo/brand on half of those.  And even if I can, when the rider is on the bike a large chunk of the shroud is covered anyway.

At TV viewing distances it’s impossible.

I think the answer is to cycle the size of the stickers from week to week or for 2 or three races at a time.

So, WD-40 is prominent for 3 weeks, while sponsor B is normal sized, then reverse it. Everyone gets better exposure.

Then part of each deal is to also promote sponsors on social media.  It should be part of the contract.

Guys, this is so incredibly simple.   If you actually support the companies that advertise in our sport, and let them know, that due to their support, you buy their products.  If enough do it, Win!  GEICO left, they couldn't gauge the ROI.  When you buy Insurance, LET THEM KNOW!   If you go to AliExpess to buy your fake FOX gear, yeah, I wonder why FOX are fading in their marketing?   Support those that support our sport, we all win.

Sponsorship is difficult. What are the benefit for the sponsor? What do they get in return?

For us our sponsorship season for excepting race resumes the next year is 3 months from after Lorettas to Halloween. I started paid advertising about sending resumes right before the end of Lorettas. Want to guess how many I have received? 1

IMG 9414 0

Hate to say this but how many sponsors have been brought in by teams or riders then plucked away by Feld or MXSports?

Lol! I think it's great to have engaging characters in the sport, more passion brings more excitement which in turn should bring eyeballs!!
