I didn’t see the crash, I was on the hill, but it sure looks like this one hurt, and maybe got ran over?  He finished well all things considered.

Thanks man.  I guess that actually could have been a lot worse.

He got dragged behind another bike for a pretty long stretch on the start. Definitely admire him for gritting that one out and finishing both motos.

Still looks painful as hell.

Something about this pro moto thing just isn't working for Austin.

As soon as I saw a green bike going down on the start I immediately thought "Oh shit please don't be Forkner" and sure enough it was. Thankfully nothing serious but he'll be hurting for a few days from that huge gash.

Honestly I was more impressed with how he recovered in that first moto than if he came out and got a podium. Once again he goes down hard, once again on the start, the dude has to be sitting there beyond pissed and frustrated in that moment. But he got back on the bike and rode his ass off to move up in the pack. He could of went back to the truck and said fk this but he fought hard, I give him props for that. Luckily a few weeks to heal up.

Idk, looks kind of serious to me. Roast beef torso ain’t no walk in the park. He needs to seriously worry about infection for the next couple weeks….and his body is going to be spending a lot of energy repairing that.  Imo, absolutely “outstandable” that he finished both motos!  How can you not root for, or at least feel for the guy?

It's going to hurt like hell for a few days or a week but at least it shouldn't cause him to miss any races. At this point he just needs gate drops and race time. He still has a chance to get in for the SMX playoffs too. Seeing the pics of him after the race makes it even more impressive he was able to finish and do fairly decent.  I was more disappointed in Shimoda and Ryder D than anything today.

just started a thread and missed this one! I gasped when they showed him down and just thought "You gotta be kidding me". Then I watched timing and he fought back to 21, so kudos. and yes, that rash is gonna be fire today. that kid needs to build a shrine to the moto gods to pray to before every race.

Forkner’s post above speaks volumes, IMO. In the past he would’ve blamed everybody under the sun, but this time he owned it: “I gotta be better.” I’m really hoping he can kick the bad luck right in the teeth and start getting some W’s.

He is going to be a walking scab. Would love to see how it went down. Was looking for him to have a big day.

I’ve never really been a Forkner fan mainly due to his cocky attitude early in his career.  Having said that, I now feel myself rooting for him especially after all he has been through the last couple years.   The kid can’t buy a break that’s for sure!  Hopefully Ryno can help him get on track and back to being competitive.   Heal up AF!

I’d like to see him on a 450. Easy to forget this guy had Sexton seriously covered in speed.

Two times this year he has tangled with someone on a start straight.

When the same thing happens over and over and over its no longer bad luck. That being said hes clearly made some changes by going to ryno and trying to get his technique perfected and most of all hes not making any excuses. Count me in as one of the ppl who didnt like his attitude in the past, but Ive been rooting for him lately to make a comeback.

I think hes been plenty humbled by life at this point and he no longer seems to act like a cocky asshole. He seems down to earth now and is willing to just do whatever it takes to get back on top without any excuses. Hopefully we can see him make it back to the top, it would be a great story of overcoming extreme adversity.

Looks like quite a few of us. I'm really pulling for him now when I never did in the past. I did see an overhead view of the start and he really got dragged a good 10'-15' behind the other guys bike. I can't remember where I saw the video unfortunately

They showed the replay on the broadcast.

He really has the right to consider himself jinxed or hexed.
