I'm in the 50+ class and my body can't take the heat like I used to. I haven't ridden all summer (other than errands on the dual sport). I'm jonesing to ride.

Was planning to take my son Sunday, but it's supposed to be 105 so I think we will pass. Funny when I was 16-18 I spent a lot of Thursdays at Glen Helen during Summer well over 100 and it never bothered me. No way I'm doing that now.

Does riding my fat tire electric bike to the mail box count as riding LOL.

The older ya get the heat gets harder to handle or smarter ya get and stay inside when it gets real hot.  Part of my career I worked in fossil fuel power plants, refineries and chem plants all hot as hell.  Hottest was working on controls and instrumentation on burner facings in power plants.  HF acid units in refineries, class C rubber acid suits were rough too.  I thinking about that doesn’t take much for me to hang at the casa on real hot days.

With that said may run up to Iron Dog MX next Tuesday.  They open at 8 am, ride some then pack up around noon ish.   Get a Reese’s Sonic Blast with as squirt of chocolate on the way home.  Hour and 45 min drive to Iron Dog but everything is a ways off in Texas.

I've been moving over to MTB-only in the hot months. It's hard to get up the gumption to load up, drive to a track, and then ride a few short motos before it's too hot to continue. However, I can ride the MTB right from my driveway to several urban-XC routes on the bicycle. If I get started before 8, I can get a great workout and not be getting killed by the heat.

I've been in Mammoth since last week on vacation. Just got off Lake Mary on a pontoon boat. It was cold! We were in sweatshirts and board shorts. My mom text me from home, san diego area, and said it fricken hot as crap. Vacation over in the morning, bummer. But going to the desert Sunday for a quick ride to sweat out all the tequila from the last week! Got to go, we are heading to the summit to go up the gondola! Solute!

Nor-Cal area, tracks have been 108-110 lately. No biggie, just get in and out early. Life is good, moto on...-)

Yeah I don’t drive down the mountain too often in the summer to the Norcal tracks. I keep those for fall, winter, and spring unless the weather is nice. The tracks just get so baked and dry all summer long. It’s hard to keep them real nice no matter how good Zeb and the other promoters are.

I have been riding in the AM early on the weekend at Tyler’s track in Fernley and tbh it isn’t too bad till around 12 or so. The heat comes later there so having them open more routinely this summer has been awesome.

After I ride, I drive straight from the track to the lake where the family is usually waiting for me and get my alpine lake time in.

As a kid growing up in Florida we would just ride early and then hit the beach after so this is just my Norcal/Nevada version of that I suppose.

You wouldn’t find me dead riding anywhere near that heat. Well you actually might find me dead because I can’t handle heat at all

On the flip side, I go running and ride my bicycle at 0F all the time in the winter

Yeah it's been humid as hell in CT. The rain is killing me. The track is washed out every other week

I was working in the Yuma / Gila Bend area today and my truck was reading 121F for a good 50 mile stretch between the two areas.  I also saw it peak out at 122F for about 5 minutes during one stretch.  I don't care where you are, that's fucking hot as hell.

I Love high 90,s wish for 100+ with 99% humidity & dew point. I think it’s been 1 of the coldest summers ever in the Midwest, ne& se. Wed in Ky. At 11 it was 70. Tn. 73 at 12.30. Last wed a high of 61 in gb. The worlds strongest hhg rig that would be the hottest place on earth. Mud rig has 2 big industrial Diesel engines 1 is a v8 . Behind you & below with no shroud, exhaust blows on you too. Below is a mud pump 9 ft square powered by 1 of the Diesel engines. In front is a 7k mud tank if you hv returns - drilling fluid from a 200 in diameter ream hole. That’s ovr 200 degrees.  I could attack like Bruce Lee on crank for 16 hrs 7 days a week. In 10 yrs we fired every military guy we ever hired mostly marines.  Real muscular guys but lazy & couldn’t handle the heat at all.  My phone ovr heats in the trk cab but not in a 200 degree sauna. Inside of a trl is real hot too. With a thin alum or super thin fiberglass roof.  Last summer I got Lucky & it was real muggy riding. I wore 2010 thick tLd pants for rd rash on the hard pack & a thick cotton jersey, kidney belt , old fox chest protector. Some 5 lap heaters I didn’t wear it. I like the feel of a cotton Jersey but after 1 lap it’s soaked. I think you get the most out of your body in the high heat& humidity.  Ya feel awesome afterwards. I think the heat is hard on a bike tho.

We operate in Gila Bend several times a week and it’s disgustingly hot there. Still doesn’t compare to Djibouti though. Hottest place I’ve ever been in my life, bar none.

I get up around 530 and finish riding around 9 on the weekends. It’s been a brutal summer. Hotter than I can recall.

The weather in Denver this summer has been great, only a couple mid 90s days and we have been getting record rain fall so everything is green and not spending a fortune watering the grass. Some of the local tracks are getting waterlogged but I wish every summer was like this. Almost the end of July and I have only turned on the sprinkler system twice all summer. Cool

It’s actually been a very mild summer in Vegas overall. It’s always 110 end of july august, but until a couple weeks ago it was only mid nineties… i really don’t know what everyone is complaining about. I grew up in Scottsdale/FH… I was there in the late eighties and early nineties for the regular 115-118 summer days. The record high for June was 122 in 1990 and 121 for July in 1995 so this isn’t anything new and isn’t record breaking!

I’m ride once a week on Saturdays kind of guy. Been getting hot even up here in Montana. I load up early, put 2 or 3 hours in and am out of there by noon before it gets ugly hot. Vet life baby!

Sent my old lady to Dallas 3 days ago in a car with no AC. She came home last night and just mentioned that the dash thermostat read 113 degrees while she was stuck in traffic, zero complaints of discomfort.

It's summer in California.

This was the temp as I went out for my final moto at GH today.

I want to go soak in an ice bath now, it's effing hot!

Today is brutal in Indiana. We got about 30 mins of rain earlier, just enough to knock the dust down. My son decided our little home track was “prime” and went out and rode for an hour today. I told him this is what makes you better is riding when everyone else says it’s too hot! Not gonna lie though I was dripping sweat just watching. 103 heat index is what the phone said.

Working in attics is good training for riding a dirtbike in the “heat”..

I went to Pala on 7-21. It was actually a nice day. It was a little warm but there was a nice cool breeze. When I left about 1, my truck was showing 91. When I got home it was 102.

If I catch all green lights, I'm 17 minutes to Glen Helens gate and on Thursdays you can get on the track early. If you treat it like a gym workout you can get done easily by noon.

As much weight as I’ve gained last few months,  first jump my pants will vent themselves!!!

I’ll have to vent jerseys before I go to the track.  Should be easy enough.

Oh my God, doing HVAC in summer must be brutal. They gotta start at 5am to get a jump on the heat. I was running plumbing vent lines in a 3rd floor attic today. I probably dropped 5lbs

Besides hurt left hand and can’t ride.  I stay close to the house this time of year and don’t ride much.  Retired now and kind of a fair weather rider ya might say lol.  This time of year it’s 95 to a little over a 100 most days.  Cools off at night into the 80’s.  Last  couple of days Houston area it’s been 102.   With our humidity puts heat index around 108 or higher.  Couple weeks back we had heat index of 115.

I may test my hand next week and hit Ultimate MX, I think they open at 9am.  Make a few laps and get back home before noon.

Anybody else dealing with hot weather not hitting the track much.

Thanks Billy

Yea it was 96 today, high humidity so I'm working on getting the standup on the water.
