Here’s a link to last year’s thread if you missed it. https://www.vitalmx.com/forums/moto-related/so-i-started-arenacross-tea… To sum up last year's AX team thread: year one (2024 season) we had amazing results thanks to Cody Groves, started out with great engines but I made a dumb mistake using another engine builder to handle the ecu duties and had some DNF’s. 2025 the bikes were absolutely dialed. Doc Smith had the most speed, qualifying well in practice but missing mains due to bad starts and bad luck. Travis Smith expected nothing of himself but to redeem his crash at round one the year before, and...

I agree with you. Cobra 50s are the best and not much issue if you change the oil and keep filter clean. Most these guys talking from experience years ago or from here say

I just really don’t have any problems to be honest. Change out the air filter at the end of a ride or race day, change out the clutch oil at the end of a weekend, check the CFD every few rides or if it’s a brand new build then after 30 mins. Adjust as necessary. Keep it clean, WD the...

That’s the problem with all 50’s though including Cobra. The “maintain it properly” statement is the issue, proper maintenance on a 50 is a pain in the butt and nobody has fun with it. That is current information from a current mini dad among many others in here unfortunately.

Cobra is the best with the most dealer support and parts availability by far. 4 to 6 yrs get the 50 junior. 7 to 8 range get the 50 FWE. They aren’t that bad at all, buy a new one and maintain it properly. You won’t have any problems. This is current information, not from years ago..

Ski resorts to moto tracks = really big apples to orange seeds (barely). Mammoth Mountain (admittedly one of the ten largest ski resorts in the US) single day - adult ski passes cost 179.00 mid week and 219.00 weekends. I roamed through a bunch of sites and could not get an average of skiers on the mountain, but the ski lift capacity is able to move 53,330 skiers PER HOUR. You do the math. Kirkwood Ski Resort (a small, somewhat out of the way resort) (where I usually ski) the mid week lift ticket price is $143.00. (I buy season...

I don’t think it’s necessary. Bring a bicycle or pit bike if your doing amateur day. No big deal. We arrived Friday late afternoon and it was fine. Like the person above said, it’s a bit further out and is grass vs gravel. Seems like they pack you in tighter with the reserved parking.
Was it just me or were opening ceremonies terrible and very lame? They couldn’t even manage to light up the rider. No lasers or explosives. Couldn’t hear much. Not to mention for us long time fans no lap around the track with the top guys.

I’ll second suspension. I send my sons stuff to PR2 in PA and their motto is “it just works” and it really does. If you feel safer, you go faster is my experience. Not to mention not having to be quite so concerned about going a little short or long and it hurting. Like others said good tires and everything...

Just watch what Carson Brown can do on 20+ year old roached 2 strokes and you will quickly realise that all our 'mods' are a total waste of time But to answer seriously.... Tyres, sag, fresh brakes, properly aligned forks, cleaned and greased bearings, clean air filters, fresh oil, fresh top ends, valves in spec. Then with all that done, revalved suspenson. No point having a rocket ship of a motor if its in a chassis you aren't comfortable to push hard on.
