The consequences of "grow the sport" keep hitting the fans harder and harder. Come out to a national, and you can't get anywhere near a decent viewing area without paying outrageous amounts for VIP access. Want to watch the up and comers? Open the wallet now. Based largley on Lewis' recommendation (and my travel schedule) I attended the Latvian GP this past weekend. What a tremendous event. The circuit was wonderful for spectating. The food at the track was the best I've ever had at a moto event and reasonably priced. The people were knowledgeable and very welcoming. The track itself appears closest to Southwick (which I've only seen on TV). €95 got me a weekend pass with paddock access and a program. The gate for MX2 was thin but EMX 125 and 250 were full. Family shit can go sideways sometimes. Been there, done that, it was awful, but now it’s all good. Pro racers aren’t immune to the same stresses and strains us normally folk are. I’ll be rooting for Jason when he returns.

I had not been to a race or gotten to shoot one since 2019 because of health limitations, but the convergence of a bit cooler day, the fresh rings the docs gave the top end last year, and literally a Friday last minute hook up by Davey I was able to get out to Hangtown.
