I would see him in the paddock while inspecting our hardware and he would say, "What are you guys at Metalore up too now?"... then wink, smile and walk aways with a hop in his step looking back while shaking his finger lol. He will be missed.

Back in 1985 when Yamaha found out RJ signed with Honda they wouldn't give him a bike and offered very little support to race the Rodil Cup - LA Coliseum race. So Innovation Sports (CTi) built him a bike with a fiberglass low-boy tank, PC Motor/Pipe/Silencer

Worked at PC during that era. PC milled the head and reconfigured the squish. Regarding porting, didn't run engine temp strips then. But Payton (or Jimmy Perry) would of engraved (with the porting tool) PC and and a #spec on it if it was one of the supported ... more »
