I am flirting with the idea of one of these. I'm seriously not trying to be funny. Does it feel gay driving it? My friend has one and we took it to lunch and I honestly would have rather worn lipstick in public. This is coming from a guy that pulls my bikes with a trailer in a hyundai accent so I'm not above anything. How do you like it?

Can you get the seats to lay flat inside so you could possibly camp in it?

Re read your post.

It is so cringe.

If you delete it i won't  say anything.

I use this small pickup as my daily and bike hauler.

1.6 liters NA, MT5, 2 seats, air cond... enough for me and my bike. In this picture, with my friend's Husky 450.

(BTW, I live in Argentina and this pickup is manufactured in Brazil)

Your cool little gray truck reminds me of these Subaru’s from the glorious 1980’s! Was called the BRAT (at least in the U.S. market?)

I had a moto buddy that had one (like this one!) with the T-Top option and I always thought it was cool little hauler!
)You could also get “jump-seats in the bed, back when the government let YOU decide if it was safe or not to ride in the back of a moving vehicle!)

Those were fun days cramming our bikes & TWO of everything into the tiny BRAT bed and rolling out to the MX track with the T-Tops left behind! 👍❗️

Anyone ELSE remember these? 🤪 👍❗️

I remember seeing that trk in magazine adds. I sanded & panted my Chevy g20 wheels today . I haven’t painted them in 2 hrs.  I used primer this time.  I got 20.5 mpg all loaded up installed a higher quality accell distributor & rotor with brass & replaced the 4 yr old accel hotter coil .  Long story I couldn’t unlock the storage unit , installed a new lock . Screwed up riding but I decided to work on stuff anyway .  I can’t ride in the wild fire smoke it’s hard enough working on stuff. The smoke was bad all week.  Not a mini trk but good luck trying to find one. The g20,s are out there the trans plates will need to be replaced . They dry out from sitting then when you drive it . They start cracking & chipping . IMG 3988 2.jpeg?VersionId=CIsRI6HtycYEo5T

Only as gay as the driver's intrusive thoughts 😉

I went from a Mazda CX 5 pulling a lawnmower trailer. Haven't had the chance to put anything but my mountain bike and my wife's gravel bike in it yet, I doubt the seats lay down enough to be more comfy sleeping in them than an air mattress in the bed. Which, with the outlet in the bed and the ford app, you can plug a fancy air mattress in and turn the truck on and off from the bed.

I was looking for a cheaper high mile Ranger or Tacoma, but every one I ended up going to look at had a frame that was almost rusted through. Everything was either about to fall apart, about to fall apart out of my cash budget, or nearly the price of a new Maverick while being 10 years old. Then of course the most perfect grandpa driven Ranger pops up on marketplace today after I already pulled the trigger on the Mav! Liking it a lot so far, though.

I have been bugging my brother in law to sell this thing to me but I think he wants to be buried in it.

That truck was my college truck. When I bought it it was slammed with 50 series tires. Was a really fun truck. That extra cab was great for a huge home made box for 2 12” subs.

Back in the day with my 1984 Honda CR250R - my Dad gave me the 1976 Datsun for my 1st car.  That truck made so many trips to Saddleback, Carlsbad, Ascot, OCIR, Corona and out to Baseline Road to practice on Tuesday's.  It just kept running.  Changed the oil every 4k miles

Colorado trip was great. MPG average was just over 21. Did 80mph going through Kansas with 2 mtbs on the hitch carrier and never felt it struggle up the mountains.

Diesel?

Back in the 80's there was a guy who owned the popular car wash everyone used who had one, white. The body behind the drivers rear wheel was all black with soot. I guess the guy never used his own car wash. 😀

Slate truck 🙄

Looks like a piece of crap. Even if you ordered all the options to install yourself and well over 30k.

Ford has an electric small truck coming in probably 27 low thirties and said it won't be bare bones.

I'm not into electrical all but if i was i'd wait for the Ford.

Gonna take a stab at the Slate. It’s electric. It’ll be perfect for running around the Southland and I might even get one for the shop where our electric is stupid cheap.

Gave them the $50 deposit and I’ve got a build siting in their “builder”. Gonna do the basic truck in grey, big battery, lift, all terrains, aux switches, dash speaker mount (JBL BT speaker), door cubbies, steering wheel BT switches…I’m guessing around $31-32K…I’m expecting the battery to be the most expensive upgrade.

We’ve got a Mach E and it’s been awesome. My wife uses it for her OC to LA commutes and it’s soooo much cheaper to operate than a gas vehicle (special utility plan for electric car owners: NICE!). So…I don’t have any issues with electric. Besides, I’ve got my Ford gassers for having fun. This lil’ truck will be for around town and local track days.

I put in a reservation on one of these too. Curious to see what the battery upgrade cost is as well. The biggest downside for me is lack of 4wd in the introduction model. But I could get by as long as I keep another vehicle with 4wd.

If ya think about it, if we use these as our commuter/errand runners/goin to the local track rig…and if you’ve got good electric rates (I’m guessing you do)…well…less is more in that sense when it comes to “operating costs” stand point. Less drivetrain is less weight and less motors on electric vehicles.

Funny stuff: our electrics/hybrids…we get virtually “no brake wear”; because, regen does most of the braking. Which is nice! I traded in the wife’s hybrid with almost 70k mile on it…stock brakes…over 50% of the brake material was on it! The brakes on the Mach E are still damn near new at 10K! My F150:Hybrid has just about 50k miles and the brakes are looking great.

Btw, trying to make the battery last or “go far” is kinda like a game you get caught up in. Long downhills are your friend again…like when you were a kid on your bike or skateboard 🤣

I loved that truck

Granted a new Ranger Raptor has more power…. But it doesn’t sound half as good

Came from a Tundra Crewmax to the Hybrid version, base trim

black plastic door handles, steel wheels. What a truck needs to be for me.

I can do all I was doing with the Tundra. Easy to park. it's zippy and fun to drive. zero problem to keep up with traffic on Interstate

And now i can load our bikes the night before and park inside the garage.

Few rattles, some plastic scratche easy. Interior space is actually very good even in the rear

Unless major problem (Ford not exactly doing well these day with quality of their vehicles) , i do not see the need for bigger truck or going back to a Toyota

It's cheap to run. 40 to 50 mpg in town, 38 with the 2 bikes, gear, tools and some crap when going to the tracks with my kid

Yea the lack of 4wd may not be a deal breaker for me, it just means I can’t take it skiing on pow days when the canyons are restricted to 4x4 only or you have to put chains on. Been there done that with the chains. No thanks.

Hey the wife also has a Mach E, she drives it to OC and such. Good car, got the GT so it's pretty damn quick and the brembos are awesome. My F150 gets me 18.5mpg, not terrible for a truck lol

To me, that's the best Toyota 4x4 truck ever made right there, after that they got bigger, uglier and way too expensive.

Same here. Have my reservation. Got it early so I am reservation 2000 or so.

I work 15 miles from home so I can commute in it for sure.

Not sure where they are on expected delivery?

I’m with you! I drove an S10 for like 7 years and I loved the handling it drove like a car. Could haul anything and had a usable back seat area. My bro just bought a Tacoma TRD Pro a month ago and that thing is HUGE!

I had a 1997 Chevy S10 for a decade.  Best truck ever.  All my friends had Rangers and they were great but I swear mine NEVER broke down.  And it was a stick shift.
