Was/is he the H in HEP? Also I would really dig it if someone did a podcast with him.

Yes, he's the H in HEP.

Edit: The two other people are Billy Ezernack and Dustin Pipes.

To show you what a great guy George is.

Back around 1989ish, I had problems with chronic shoulder injuries and was hanging around at a Perris race when Goat Breker was running his GFI races.  Goat saw me in a shoulder sling and said he was sorry to see I was still having shoulder problems and mentioned that maybe George Holland could give me some advice.  I told him that would be great but had no idea how that would ever happen.  Goat asked for a good number that George could call me at and that he'd ask him to give me a call.  Gave him my work number (pre-cell phone days)  and thought to myself, I'm never gonna hear back.  Few days later in the following week, I get a call at work from George!  He was super down to earth and friendly and it was like he had all the time in the world to talk about bum shoulders and other stuff.  Will never forget that...so cool of him to call a total stranger to talk to me about shoulder stuff.

He told me the best shoulder doc to go to  in SoCal was Dr Almquist in Orange and even though I was already seeing another guy I set up an appointment.  When I went for my visit, Dr Almquist asked me what procedure the other doc was planning on doing. I told him the procedure name and he laughed and said "that's archaic, you don't want to do that!"   Yep, I switched docs and he got my shoulder fixed like it was almost new again.

Props to both Goat and George for being great guys!

Looks like he took his money and went into the Almond farming business in Kerman. I think he's done well for himself. I remember reading about him wanting to do that years ago when he retired.  There is a guy that grew up near where I did that got into that business too. He was doing around $200 million a year in business and did very well. Apparently a lot of it gets shipped to the middle east.

Any interview would be great. And a current picture. He and Kehoe had epic battles in the 80s. Also on 80s in the late 70s. Kehoe was a bit older I believe. After he dominated on minis George took over when Kehoe went to 125s. In 1980 I think?

Around 1980 I lived in Central Ca and went to pretty much all the races at a little night mx track by Madera called Little Oakie.

Some fast guys like Magoo and George would occasionally show up.  When George came he'd show up in his bright yellow factory truck with the Suzuki graphics on it which was cool to see at a little night track!  His bikes looked so sano...I'd imagine he had his practice bike for that kinda race. Yep, he'd pretty easily smoke the other local pros that were always fast on that track.  Don't believe Magoo and George ever showed up at the same time there.

Aren’t almonds tanking right now?  They let chinese almonds in I believe.  I know walnut orchards are worthless right now, they are being ripped out

I only remember that as I watched it again recently 😁.

In fact, I think I'll watch it again.

Don't know how that would get messed up, Holland on Suzuki and Burnworth on Yamaha

Very cool to know that!  Such an interesting place Smile .  It was right next to a pig farm and a bunch of other houses around....sort of like the way Perris is situated in a neighborhood kind of area.

After moving to southern Ca. in 1987, I went back up to that area around 1988 specifically to race at Little Oakie for old times sake.  Thought I'd show the 30+ guys how it was done...LoL, far from it!  There was a triple in a corner and did it for the first time in the 1st moto.  Came up short, got the toe of my boot caught under my handlebar crossbar as I ejected over the bars and twisted the shiet out of my knee.  So much for my fun homecoming to Little Oakie Smile
