I listened to both parts, ML, great job, you’d make a great lawyer.

The Yamaha guy, Cotter and Matt Walker are trash, and Deegan is a coward for not coming on.

C&C338 makes sore loser look good, really good. Did sore loser get banned? I thought SL was kinda adding another dimension to this multi dementional situation. He definitely wasn't just a fan, definitely more to that story. An ignore button to eliminate C&C338 types would be really cool
SL has skin in the game, it's as obvious as the sunrise in the morning... c&c338 is down the rabbit hole of stupid and irrelevant crap.

Blows me away that we have gotten to this point.

Netflix could hire the real people as the actors. Then when the script guy asks if they mind embellishing a little on the story, they ALL would say "yea, we can do that"

Well into Part 2: Matt Walker = Not credible at all. Comes across as a snake oil salesman.

Deegan wasn’t allowed to come on, per Star Racing. He wanted to. So we chatted so I could get a rough statement from him.

I even went to Regan myself to get the okay for Deegan on the record and got shot down.

They all got in a room and aligned their stories.....it's so obvious.

I'll say it again. Next time whoever pulls a claim....pull out your phone and tell everyone in the room "This entire process and conversation is being recorded".

"Here's my greenbacks....where's my bike?"

I listed to both parts, every minute. From what I gathered, it was Matt Walker and Brennan's dealer sponsor who forced him to rescind his claim. Sure, a lot of other people may have been upset about it going through, but Walker and Dealer were the ones that "threatened"/strong armed him into backing off the claim.

a lot could've been handled differently, as most agreed in the interviews, but it came down to Walker and Dealer. Sounds like the dealer took Brennan's dad into a room and said "Drop the claim, or I'll drop you" and then proceeded to drop Brennan anyways.

Brennan Schofield will still always be remembered throughout the sport as the guy who claimed Deegan's bike regardless of if he dropped the claim or not. It already comes up first for me in google when just googling his name.
So the logic of "you don't want to be known for that" is already well out the window and was from the time he made the claim.

Great job ML getting everyone's side of things. I too believe the kid should have gotten the bike, as per the AMA rule.

My biggest takeaway is the 2 GYTR motors from Yamaha. The explanation from Walker on how that went down was as if "Nothing to see here", just a USA Yamaha rep offering up 2 crate motors to some mid pack amateur B rider at the largest amateur motocross race in the world, who happened to try to claim a "Factory" Yamaha bike.

I'm sure that the Canadian dealership putting pressure on dad to drop the claim might of had something to do with it...now we see how much that helped with their continued sponsorship. But while dad was away "Saving" their relationship with the dealer, all of a sudden the 17 year old now has 2 crate motors coming their way from a sit down meeting with a Yamaha factory rep?

And after all the commotion in Walkers pit; near fights, free motors and ride days at the Goat Farm; its all Kumbayah, the claim is dropped as is Brennan from MotoX and his primary sponsor, who both happened to be involved from the get go and got the results they desired.

Brennan got hosed on this deal, even if his motor builder put up the cash. He would've been better off getting the bike and throwing the finger out the window as they left Loretta's...

"Here's my greenbacks....where's my bike?"

. . . "It's in the Star pits, and it has one more moto tomorrow. We can retrieve it for you and return it to them for the race tomorrow, but without maintenance your bike might blow up. We can leave it with them but then we can't control what they do to it overnight. Maybe we should work something out where we have custody of the bike but allow them reasonable time to prepare it for the moto tomorrow? I have to warn you though, this will require some discussion. I hope that doesn't scare you too badly, having discussion with other humans about the logistics of this extraordinary situation. Oh, and thank you for recording these conversations so the mob at Vital sees I'm not trying to exert undue influence over you"

Ready for part 3. My mind has shifted after watching part 1 and 2. I believe sponsor acted on his own for fear of being associated with claim. Possible sponsor made up things to pressure the kid into a withdrawal of claim. It’s seems very likely this is how it went down. I don’t have a problem with anything else that occurred besides the meeting with deegan where all parties have said they would do it differently.

Why not just make the claimant anonymous? Ama can change this in the rule. Then nobody knows who it is, and they can't be bullied or persuaded.

They are probably smart enough to know they aren't going to improve anything from their stance. They'd rather just have no direct representatives in front of a camera fueling this. They can only look worse (for good reason) if this continues on in the spotlight.

Change the rule so anyone can claim a bike at anytime. Right now the rule states they must be in the same class.

That's what perpetuates this type of intimidation that has happened.

Let anyone claim a bike at any time.

2x msrp if in same class
3x msrp if not in same class

This will keep more teams in check. No reason a kid at the ranch needs a $50k factory bike. And if he does, then be prepared to have it claimed.

We should encouraging more claiming. Make it easier. This will make teams accountable.

again, the question is, if the dealer was pulling support anyway, what could he possible say to get Brendan to withdraw the claim? Clearly whatever the dealer guy said worked, but what was it he said? How could he threaten his support if it was over anyway. Doesn't make sense. And why would he need engines if the bike are gone? Super fishy

At 58:00 in the first VitalMX video, Cotter claims "I heard one of the versions say [the bike] went to an AMA officials camper. Look, he's right, it went to my camper and we locked it up"

Why is Cotter referring to himself as an AMA official when he is an MXSports promoter?

Abd make it a rule that you can't revoke it. Once you make the claim that's it. Then nobody can interfere.

He's an AMA official also in the WV district I believe.

I think John Knox head of security babysat the bike for a while and he was the one who brought it to Cotters camper.

It is already a rule that you cant interfere, with a pretty harsh penalty. But they did anyways, and it doesn't matter because they're above the rules.

Apologies if this is known (too much info spinning in my head), but who got Donnie Luce (Yamaha employee, correct?) involved? Did Deegan text/call him or someone else with Star? So then Donnie now calls Walker and says get back to the track, we have a situation (to squash, lol). What didn't pass the smell test for me in Donnie's segment on Pulp, was after Donnie asked Brennen why he wanted to claim the bike and then tried to explain the pros and cons of going through with it, he then wanted to discuss what issues Brennen had been having and try to understand what parts he was having issues with. That just seems like such BS - "oh, after the quick 30 second conversation to understand why he wanted to make the claim, I then, wanted to dive into any of the technical issues he might have been having with his current engines".

I think it was a bit slimy of Luce to tell Brennan about ways he could make it up to him just to go on record with ML and say he made some promises he couldn’t or shouldn’t have made or could actually stand by when they were discussing all the reasons why that bike would be a paper weight come service time.

How good is his word when he just admitted that he said things that he couldn’t necessarily come through with?
