Welcome to amateur racing.
The Yamaha guy, Cotter and Matt Walker are trash, and Deegan is a coward for not coming on.
Blows me away that we have gotten to this point.

I even went to Regan myself to get the okay for Deegan on the record and got shot down.
I'll say it again. Next time whoever pulls a claim....pull out your phone and tell everyone in the room "This entire process and conversation is being recorded".
"Here's my greenbacks....where's my bike?"
a lot could've been handled differently, as most agreed in the interviews, but it came down to Walker and Dealer. Sounds like the dealer took Brennan's dad into a room and said "Drop the claim, or I'll drop you" and then proceeded to drop Brennan anyways.
So the logic of "you don't want to be known for that" is already well out the window and was from the time he made the claim.
My biggest takeaway is the 2 GYTR motors from Yamaha. The explanation from Walker on how that went down was as if "Nothing to see here", just a USA Yamaha rep offering up 2 crate motors to some mid pack amateur B rider at the largest amateur motocross race in the world, who happened to try to claim a "Factory" Yamaha bike.
I'm sure that the Canadian dealership putting pressure on dad to drop the claim might of had something to do with it...now we see how much that helped with their continued sponsorship. But while dad was away "Saving" their relationship with the dealer, all of a sudden the 17 year old now has 2 crate motors coming their way from a sit down meeting with a Yamaha factory rep?
And after all the commotion in Walkers pit; near fights, free motors and ride days at the Goat Farm; its all Kumbayah, the claim is dropped as is Brennan from MotoX and his primary sponsor, who both happened to be involved from the get go and got the results they desired.
Brennan got hosed on this deal, even if his motor builder put up the cash. He would've been better off getting the bike and throwing the finger out the window as they left Loretta's...
Pit Row
That's what perpetuates this type of intimidation that has happened.
Let anyone claim a bike at any time.
2x msrp if in same class
3x msrp if not in same class
This will keep more teams in check. No reason a kid at the ranch needs a $50k factory bike. And if he does, then be prepared to have it claimed.
We should encouraging more claiming. Make it easier. This will make teams accountable.
Why is Cotter referring to himself as an AMA official when he is an MXSports promoter?

I think John Knox head of security babysat the bike for a while and he was the one who brought it to Cotters camper.
How good is his word when he just admitted that he said things that he couldn’t necessarily come through with?
