Slightly off topic answer but I say KTM does the best, the whole idea of racing is to promote your brand. Wouldn't mind betting Carolli and Dunge bring lots more attention than Web racing. Just look at the forum on the amount of posts.

Really looking forward to round 1

I think 222 will be top 5, and I wouldn't be surprised if he podiums, I think the long layoff for 5 will be extremely hard to overcome, I'm thinking he'll be good to crack the top 10 in the early rounds.

As much as I am a Dungey fan, I'm going to lean in the direction of the 222. Way more active until just recently, and his present fitness will still allow him to run the distance at a pretty good clip. Somewhere in the 5-7 range would not surprise me while if Dungey can break the top 10 that would be very impressive. 6 years is a long time-not George Foreman long....but in MX years pretty dang long. Tomac, Ferrandis, Sexton, Barcia, are all going to set a pretty blistering pace out of the gate.

I don't how many times they have raced in the last decade, but at the MXON in 2009 Dungey went 3, 1 for the MXGP class overall, Cairoli went 1, 38.

At the 2010 MXON Dungey went 1, 1, Cairoli went 2, 4.

In 2011 Dungey went 3, 2 for the MXGP overall, Cairoli had a bad day and went 40, 37 (can't remember what happened there).

Cairoli went 1, 1 at Lommel in 2012, Dungey went 7,9

In 2013 Cairoli went 1, 1, Dungey uncharacteristically went 6, 7. (US lost by 3 points to Belgium), Barcia and Tomac both laid an egg in one moto each.

If you guys seriously think dungey will come out and beat cairoli, you are delusional. Cairoli planned to race nationals when he announce he would retire last year. He’s 6 months or so out from winning gp’s. All the words he’s been saying are simply just him giving himself an out in case things don’t go well. He’s gonna be 3-5. Dungey will be out of the top 10 and will do two rounds and be out. Cairoli has said since last year his plan was to keep racing events he wants to do and be fast enough to race for Italy in mxon. He’s gonna be prepared

We don't know how long Dungey has been planning this. I suspect not too long. Seems like a play to have a KTM out there with Webb maybe not riding?

If short notice, Cairoli beats him. If Dungey has actually been planning this for several months then Dungey comes out in front.

KTM should have let Dungey come back when he wanted to race SX again. The guy might have won the title that year.

I expect either of them to overall podium each race,

The rest are STILL just seat fillers.

Hey that's a felllow Buckeye you're dissing. :-) Plessinger for such a big guy was so dominant on the 250 and I am still hoping he'll get a solid 450 season in. Outdoors in both classes should be great racing.

I give the nod to 222 for the reasons many have aleady given no disrespect to to 5.

Absolutely love both guys but it’s hard to imagine RD outperforming AC here. The #222 has been racing at the top level and should be fresh and well practiced. Ryan, as great as he is, hasn’t raced in years. No amount of practice track time will make up for gate drops and competing at race pace week in and week out. Dungey is honestly a huge question mark for me. If AC isn’t at least on the box I’ll be very surprised. Ryan could end up anywhere without surprising me.

AC222 always undersells himself, he’s been doing it for years. He will come into Round 1 with as much Motocross laps under his belt then any racer on the gate. He should be top 5-6 easily. Dungey is coming out of no where, but he was on such a high level that it would not be out of the question for him to get around Top 10. He’s had his lap times compared in California recently to other top pros, if he didn’t like what he saw he would not be out there.

AC should beat Dungey but we obviously win as fans.

222 is the 3rd or 4th fastest MX'er on earth. #1 and #2 both race in Europe (Asia and Patagonia).


If he's leading the series after two rounds, or close to the lead, he ain't leaving.

AC is only riding for fun and hasn’t been training. Dungey is riding and testing regularly with the team, and strikes me as the kind of guy that doesn’t do things half arsed. He’ll be race ready.

As for results, wouldn’t surprise me to see either make the top 5.
if you think AC is riding just for fun you don't know the man. This oppurtunity has given him fresh motivation to come over here and kick some ass. He has been prepping for months and will bring the goods

Well seeing how one has been out for 5 years and the other has been actively racing as early as last season and only raced outdoors his entire career. I’d say the 222 will probably do a little better
