I’m not a Tomac fan, but he definitely looked good riding that Honda.

Another f*ck up by Honda, letting him go.. imagine if they’d kept hold of him, they’d have that elusive SX championship and multiple outdoors by now.

As it stands, I don’t believe KR will ever win the SX championship and it’ll be another few years until Sexton is really championship material.

I am really intrigued to see how Eli adjusts to the Star machine. More power(useable) as well as a predictable bike means he can really really turn on the heat. The one thing that I believe still needs to be answered and I believe it will this coming SX season is the bike in SX. Heck of a lineup under that tent next year!

Star is going to do what ever they can to make the YZF work for Tomac. From what it sounds like, he has not always had the same luxury at Team Green..

While being a fan of all these guys if I’m 100% honest for some reason Tomac is the guy I generally root for. I’m not even sure why really but maybe it’s because it seems like he just does his own thing and I kinda dig that. Anyway as a fan he’s literally had me yelling at my tv for something completely amazing (pass on Webb Saturday) or something completely head scratching. It’s kinda fun though. I don’t believe the bike is as much a factor as change itself being good. If he does well or doesn’t on the Yamaha I’ll just keep watching for the chance that he uncorks a moto like last Saturday. If/when that happens it’s mind blowing and reminds me of the other great rides by bad dudes that are out of the game now. So I’ll appreciate those rides like Saturday because as mentioned above, the sun is setting on his career.

Remember all the talk that Kawi was stubborn about setup, tuning, trying different things that led to a kind of purge there? Star will give Eli anything he wants for the bike.

Take a guess at how many races and potential titles mechanical issues have cost Tomac since being on Kawasaki.... I'd doubt very seriously that he thinks it's funny.

I still suspect he did not have himself in top shape at the start of the season. Tomac 'Beast Mode' level shape.

Clearly, he has worked up to it now and can pretty much go as fast as he wants to at the moment.

Also looks like he does not want to ride aggressively when he doesn't 'feel it' anymore. That is pretty obvious and understandable.

First moto he follows CW around forever and that cost him the win. Second moto he made quick work of him.

I think Tomac is going to start off #2 on that team. They’re not going to put all their effort into a guy that just got beat for a championship by their other rider right off the bat.

Craig said they go to Dylan first, then AP/Craig for bike changes. I think Dylan’s going to be the go to guy in the beginning of 2022.

Totally agree with this. Star seems to have the freedom to change a lot of stuff on the bikes ( more than the Yamaha factory team did as well ) .....and Kawi has always had a rep of only letting them mess with the bike so much. I think ( hoping ) that it lights that spark again , like what we saw in Moto #2 at Pala. #crossingfingers.

Would be cool if they brought Tomac out on old-school yellow yamaha plastic and graphics so that we can always tell him apart from Dylan when they're battling.

To me (when he is on), Eli is the most entertaining rider out there...still. Yes, it will be sad when he is gone.

The biggest issue for him in his early days on the Kawasaki in 2016 was that he was still building strength back into his shoulders after his 2015 injury. He and John both said they struggled with bike setup most of the year because his body was still recovering. Initially he could not ride a really stiff setup, then as he got stronger they were not adjusting the setup quickly enough.

As to Tomac and Kawasaki and the relationship, I think it's been pretty obvious that the relationships have been strained at times. Remember Mike Williamson got the sack very abruptly (2019?). And to be fair, in his time on Kawasaki, Eli has had quite a few mechanical weirdo things happen: brake problems in 2017 at Dallas SX and Glen Helen, a dead bike at Red Bud in 2018, and the Loretta's issues in 2020. At the same time, Eli has delivered some really weird shit in his years there: East Rutherford 2017, getting pants'd at A1 in 2018, and then weirdo races in 2019 where he's just riding around and getting a 12th in a SX race (Dallas?).

As a fan, I just hope he has a good transition to the Yamaha and he's in a happy spot. If that happens, I think we'll get to see some of the beast mode riding continue.

We've had a lot of first-time 450 champions come out of nowhere recently. I don't think a lot of people expected Anderson, Webb, Osborne or Ferrandis to win their championships.

I wouldn't be shocked if Sexton was a contender next year. He was amongst the laps led leaders this year.

Why would you think Beast mode is going away?
I'm thinking that Ferrandis and Tomac on the same team is going to be a problem for everyone else.

Tomac was the first rider I was ever a fan of I still remember when it felt weird to see him on a green bike. Hope he has continued sucess with Yamaha. Here’s a shot of ET passing MM in front of MM’s wife (forgetting her name), from Mx Nation.
