If you could only pick one watch. US Supercross or Motocross and why.

If you could have ice cream or cake, or both, which would you prefer?
More like ice cream and a hostess cupcake

Outdoors - it’s more wide open, rougher tracks and just shows the grit and determination of the riders hammering out 30 + 2’s!

It’s also more relatable as, for the vast majority, we all have damn good memories of travelling to, camping at and racing motocross!

MX & it’s not even close. Always go back to the grass roots & how it all began.

Plus one or two rounds (or more depending on how much you travel I guess) are held on tracks we've actually raced on. Much easier to relate to than SX. But MX is more of something I usually watch by myself, whereas SX is more of a party, the races are at night and we tend to get together more with friends to watch the races. So one or the other ? MX. But having said that, it's hard to beat being camped in the desert, riding all day with friends, then watching SX on someone's outdoor big screen while bbq-ing and partying with your riding buds and families after a day of riding.

MX, but I hate not being able to watch them live, peacock not streaming in my county sucks. I give that to the videopass, works everywhere.

Supercross for me, although this motocross season could change that.

I don’t usually have the attention span to sit through four 30+2s. I can watch heat races, LCQs, and a main event.

..High Point had me on the hook though!

MX for me too, however Daytona Supercross is my favorite race period. (And honestly the rest of the Speedway races this year were fantastic)

That’s hard to argue with. I chose motocross because it’s awesome, but when I think of the best battles, the majority are in supercross.

Motocross...,60/40
But if supercross had 2 motos per round like motocross does, then it would be far more closer.

So MX is the refereed discipline to most US based moto heads. Why is there more emphasis on SX to the detriment of outdoor standards. Do the TV rights business guru’s make more therefore better bonuses for SX results. Surely bike sales is more outdoors fans oriented. I’m wondering if you had a night race outdoors broadcast on a Saturday evening with floodlights would it be a real money spinner. It’s a pity as US MX nationals look very competitive this year and the MXON USA riders suffer due to SX commitments.

I picked moto and prefer to watch it, however I like the timing of supercross more. So hard to sit down and watch MX in the middle of a beautiful summer day, and not watching it live doesn't have the same thrill for me. However even with all that still prefer an MX race.

Ah Tasmania, my exact recolection of the 1982 Australian mx titles, 0 degrees and fucking flooded.

I'd rather have both to choose from than one option.

Probably because this industry tries to cater to the general public that doesn't care instead of catering to the ones who pay the bills. I know things have been booming lately, but pre pandemic, the sport has been on a downward slide for over a decade and I don't think catering to the general public has helped at all.

I prefer SX. SX is a better show. More gate drops. More action. With the heats splitting the field and the LCQ's, you get to see a lot more riders. At a typical MX, the coverage usually only focuses on 5 or 6 guys per moto, with many of the same guys being focused on in the next moto. I like it better that they are at night. It doesn't help that some of the best guys tend to skip MX.

I do prefer that the 250 MX series isn't split into regions. I really wish they would change that for SX.

For me it's probably a 65/35 preference for SX.

Part of this may also be because when I was a kid in the 80's, Supercross was on TV sometimes. I don't think I ever saw MX on TV until the 2000's, except when Wide World of Sports would cover Carlsbad on occasion.

I'm pretty sure SX crushes MX in TV ratings. Also, I assume there are more fans in attendance at SX events than MX events.

The people on Vital are more die-hard fans, and 1,000 fans here is not a great sample of the general population.

Motocross. It's why I love the sport. Where I got started. More racing, instead of 2-hours of media posturing before the racing even gets started...then less than 2-hours, and it's over.

Not even a close call for me. Having seen both .....MOTOCROSS ANY day of the week!

So much more fun, walk around, see The riders take different parts of the track differently. Outside super great speed etc. etc. etc.

Supercross is like any other event for me in the dome. Not a bad thing to go to see. An evening out, get some snacks watch some guys race. But there is absolutely nothing like going to an outdoor national.

Motocross.

I love SX but it just takes too long to get to the mains! 17 Triple Crowns, preferably at speedway venues, would move the needle closer to Motocross in my book!

Definitely Moto, but the few speedway Supercross races were a step in the right direction. The bigger tracks and longer lap times were a welcome addition.

I'm a self admitted supercross junky...

However with the outdoor racing being how its been.. give me outdoors!! 24/7 and twice on Sunday.

What we need is some back to back Saturday Sunday MX rounds to make the series more economical.

Both great, but different. Sx is nice because I can drive to Minneapolis, take the teenager, hotel, restaurant exc, all that stuff.

Outdoors, if I was with a few buddes, as we've done at millville.... also, it can be ungodly hot out there, without much reprieve for the kid , or lady.

Roczen skipped last year.

Brayton always skips. Reed skipped a few years. McGrath. Anderson seems to find ways to not race.
