450 MX predictions

Zacho - not sure about his back, he's not sure either. I can see him being up and down and defending this title will be a struggle.

Marvin - definitely a threat for the title, he's been close in 2017 and 2018. Needs to not have as much bad luck as SX 2021.

Barcia - when it's soft and wet he'll be really good, interested to see how it goes on the GasGas.

Webb - he will start out OK, but in the middle of summer he'll be full stride. He should be top-3 in the series if he races all 12 rounds, I think he wants to prove he can do it.

Anderson - who knows? His outdoor record is pretty spotty. He can be super fast. If any adversity strikes with a small injury look for him to be packing it in.

Deano - nice guy, always want to see him do well, but in this class with where he's at he's a 5-10 guy.

Plessinger - expect much better, but with him leaving Yamaha I can see him stepping it back a bit late in the series unless he has a bonus at play.

Ferrandis - his starts will hurt him more than in 250s, but I expect a moto win, a few podiums but probably a DNF as well.

Anstie - Mad Max will do well, land a few podiums but also likely have some rough motos too.

Roczen - who knows? He's incredible outdoors, but his health seems to be the biggest obstacle. He really wants the SX title, if things are not going really well by halfway I see him stepping back to focus on SX.

Sexton - I have to admit, Sexton impressed me a lot last MX season. His 250 MX career was nothing special, and I wasn't sure the 450 move would be good but he was REALLY good. I think his desire to win is massive, he just needs to take the points some days and be happy with a bit of consistency.

Tomac - the beast is still in there, but with him leaving Kawi I can see this going either really well like "Let's end this on a high", or I can see him just riding around. A lot will depend on the first 3 rounds, if he scores well and is in the hunt then I think he'll be in for the fight.

AC - this is my guy for 2021. Assuming his arm/nerve issues are resolved, I really liked what I saw from him last year. He's loose, but in MX he's actually a lot more consistent. Plus, outside of Sexton, he's the guy I see as the most motivated to go out and get it done.

2. Webb
3. Sexton
4. Musquin
5. Tomac

Going to be fight between 2 past championship winners in Tomac and Osborne. I think between those 2 and Sexton and AC will be champion. I don't see
Marvin or Kenny being able to tough it out all summer. Throw in Anderson, Ferrandis and Plessinger for top fives as well.

AP will be top three. My crystal ball gets pretty cloudy after that.

AC, Kenny, and Sexton will be ahead of the rest and I think we will se AC take the title this year.

If Webb all the sudden becomes an outdoor title contender I’ll be shocked.

1) Eli wins the title if the Kawi has no DNF's AND he does not have any really bad motos that are self-inflicted. He has to have two good races to start the season though. He should at those tracks. He showed beast mode at Pala last year in the 1st moto. Is he tired of letting these guys beat him???

2) No doubt Kenny can win the title. He seems to be in shape now and is a former champ outdoors.

Those two have to be the favorites.

3) Barcia is never going to win a 450 title...come on Barcia supporters...it is not happening.

4) AC & Sexton will win motos...be super fast, blow away Eli at times but they will also crash enough to take them out of title contention.

5) Zack will be solid but not win this year.

6) Webb is a wildcard...he has to find a new level to stay up with Kenny and Eli. It is possible.

I ain't predicting nothing. I just can't wait for that first gate to drop.

A podium would be nice, and possible if he is healthy at the end of the season and able to capitalise on others misfortunes.

Agreed it would be awesome to see Marv win, and I wouldn’t be surprised if he did, but Ryno’s a narcissistic nutter!

It feels wide open. I’m gonna pick plessinger for top 3 in points and Tomac for the championship.

I know Matthes and Weege said on a recent podcast they're doing an outdoor preview show like they do for supercross. Times ruining out though, anybody have any info on if they will get one together?

They fight Tomac hard but I have not seen it with their best buddy for many years, old Kenny.

Are we just assuming Kenny is riding outdoors? Does anyone actually know?

Why else would he be testing?

As someone who was skeptical a few weeks ago about whether he would race the outdoors this year, I think it's safe to say he is. He's been riding outdoors seemingly a lot and I believe he's even posted that he is looking forward to racing this summer. Would be surprised to see him opt out at this point.

Zach had a slow start and had an injury during 2020 SX, then came on at the right time and won the final round and carried it into the outdoors. Who else had a slow start to SX in 2021 dealing with an injury, then came on and won the final round? I would love for Musquin to finally get a 450 title. Currently the best without one.

Don’t know why, but my gut says Sexton could be a huge surprise this summer. We soon shall see.
