Will Malcolm be running the 2021 outdoor series?
Have we ever seen him race a 450 outdoors?

My understanding is he is racing a few , not all.

I also hear that Craig is riding a 450 and the amateur kid is moving up.

Isn't Kitchen moving up after Loretta's?

Edit: Might race the nationals or Loretta's.

He is going very fast during outdoor testing and he wants to move up. I hear that’s what they will do, but I could be wrong.

I've been on the Mookie Train for years, not so much this year. He needs to Level UP. While consistent he is not progressing, although not being hurt is progress. Whatever it takes for him to have a upside breakout I am for.

What is the love for Malcolm? I know he is the younger brother of James but he is not on the same planet James was on. He is an average mediocre rider who i dont think has even a podium finish in the 450 class.

Saw the entire Yamaha team at Pala on Friday. Mookie was looking good in the recently added sand as was Craig on the 450, however he was in and out a bit, appeared to be working on settings. JMart, Fry, Nichols, Kinchen and Ferrandis all puttin in the motos. Barcia flinging that GasGas all around and Vohland looking smooth and smoothly running the hand guards. . Was a treat to see in between my motos on the vet.

Malcolm may not be James but mediocre is pretty harsh. He is a consistent top 5-10 in SX and pretty damn close to a podium. Hell the top 10ish guys are separated by tenths of a second this yr! Malcolm is a bad ass and hasn't faded the way he used to. I hope he lands a podium before sx is over!

mediocre 250 SX Champ.... uh right dude... why hate on him? he is the little brother of james and has made a career for himself, won a championship on his own, and is a top 10-5 guy in 450SX, with a great attitude and permasmile on his face... so yeah he sucks then?

It's called personality. He literally IS on the same planet as James was on. Is that your way of saying your fandom is related to a racers speed?...you only have love for the podium finishers? "He is an average mediocre rider"Whistling ....really? Do you have a podium finish...and what is your mother's love for you?Huh IMO, Mookie would definitely add some entertainment value to the series. I'm on the Mookie wagon!

People seem to forget he had Rhabdomyolysis in 2014. In athletes, this comes from over-training in combination with poor hydration. It can be fatal. I am sure Mookie would like to run some nationals, and hopefully he gives a few a try, but when the doc tells you could have died, it makes you a bit cautious about the thing that could have killed you.

Malcolm is running top 6-7 every race and looking good doing it. Running with Roczen, Tomac and other top riders throughout the race. Any of you that say he hasn’t progressed or looked good; are fools. The guy is riding great and we would be lucky to see him ride outdoors.

I did forget about that. Didn't his kidneys start to shut down in between motos or something?

In 2016 I was living in Cali around the SX/MX transition time, and I saw mookie all the time at pala,Elsinore, etc. on a gieco 450 #50 and he looked freakin gooooood. Pretty sure that was also his championship season so it really perplexed me that he didn’t even do a limited schedule outdoors would have been interesting to see as 16’ was a pretty injury littered season.

It really makes sense if Malcolm does not do a full outdoors. Move Craig over and bring up Kitchen. The kid has already smoked Thrasher every time he raced him at Mini O's and Thrasher is about the same speed as Frye.

It was towards the end of the 2014 outdoor season....when it was hot. I am not sure when exactly it hit him. The symptoms are such that athletes may try to "tough it out" and avoid seeing a doc, which could have terrible consequences.

He is doing okay today, about 4 seconds a lap slower than colt Nichols. I just took this as he came by my van.

Malcolm does appear to be doing 30 minute motos so who knows If this is outdoor training or just for fitness. He is not going super fast for the whole 30 like the other star guys cooper and Nichols.

The guy to watch is Coty Schock, he is lighting the place up right now, but only 5 laps at a time. Testing day I guess.

Not sure if its been posted here but Swap did an interview with him a few days ago.

He basically said that he's just testing with the team. If they wanted to work out a deal he would race outdoors but his current contract is Supercross only.

I'd think a reasonable expectation would be to see him at selected events, riding more (not necessarily racing) to maintain full-year fitness, and availability if one of his teammates goes out with an injury.

I really hope Craig can put together some great results on the yz450f. I also like to hear that he is taking time setting the bike up. I rode a 21' over the weekend on a national track. Man it was hard to keep the rear wheel down, that bike is a rocket ship. After 4 or 5 laps and some clicker adjustments I was moving just as fast as I do on my KTM. I see Mookie running Top 5-10 in outdoors easy.

Man, not being able to keep your rear wheel down must be one helluva problem.

Would love to see Malcom mix it up outdoors but man it will be tough with Craig already on a 450.
