20 RMZ at 8600 or 21 CRF at 9500?

Both 250s. Those are the OTD prices, at least where I live . I'm leaning towards the Honda, a bit more $$ but I'm concerned about the notorious suspension issues with the RMZ (I would definitely have to get lighter fork springs at the least). The dealer was willing to go down about a thousand on the RMZ (6900 before TT and L, still had it at list price). Thanks for any advice.

At those prices I'd do the Honda, just based on resale value if nothing else... It's a newer model year, a more sought after brand, and 900 is not a big up-front price difference.

Dealer is not giving you a lot on the Zook for being older stock. Just the factory incentive is $650 off plus a free wifi tuner.

The ‘18 RMZ (450) I have is my friend. Good motor, chassis, suspension/handling. IMO, the Suzuki’s are for the everyman. Honda more advanced (Pro).

Never have been a big fan of resale influencing a decision. A lot of happy RMZ owners out there.

Pick the bike that is “you”. Regardless, two amazing bikes.

$6000 vs $9500 makes the savings worth it. $900 savings is absolutely not worth it.

This. The Suzuki is an " everymans" bike, but their price is too fucking high. Look around, drive a spell if you have to, there are plenty good deals near you, if you hunt. Honda is great as well, but for the savings...IF you look hard enough, go yellow. Solid, reliable, plenty good for the regular guy or gal.

Also are you a low-mid rider or a mid-top rider? Because the Suzuki has GREAT roll on power where as the Honda doesn’t have the same roll on, but it revs and makes better power up top.

Honda all day long. Think about when you try to sell them in a few years. Honda will be worth quite a bit more just having electric start.

Definitely low to mid... I'm a vet rider, so the HP deficit on the Suzuki as compared to the other bikes isn't an issue. If I could get the RMZ OTD for between 7- 7500, I'd probably go with it. I still can't believe how much they want for the RMZ. Both dealers keep bringing up inventory issues, one of the reasons (supposedly) they can't come down more on price. This is the first new bike I've bought since 2007, (not counting my dual sport) and my first 250f. Major sticker shock, especially with the taxes, etc.

Ive got a new Suzuki here and it is a great, fantastic bike. the magazines are wrong about shitting on it. that said loosen all the triple clamp and engine mount bolts a bit and go straight to .46kg fork springs day one dont even bother riding it before you do that. you'll be happy. $ is just $ get the one that looks cooler you'll be happy with both

I’m a 66 year old just starting riding.. the rmz
Has been great zero problems! I weigh 147 so I put some race tech 4.2 springs in myself easy! For 115.00 I won my First Mx Moto at Cahuilla ca last month against all the other dudes riding all the big name bikes 450’s so the Suzuki won’t hold you back...Estart would be nice but mine starts first or second kick!

Yup, seems awfully damn high to me, too. Especially for a leftover 2020 RMZ250 (8640 for that one). I'm in Louisiana, not a huge market for MX bikes where I'm at, may be why they're so high.

I own the 20 Honda . Best bike I’ve ever had but that price is way high! My son just bought the 21 crf450r for less than 9800 out the door. I would be looking at some other dealers for sure.

Shop around. Dealers can ship you the bike in the crate for around $250. Those COVID prices are high on both bikes.
Go with the Zook. You should be able to find one for $5999 plus fees. So 65ish.

Don't pay those prices. You may have to travel a bit but you can do way better price wise. And screw the whole dealer support thing since these said dealers are clearly price gouging.

Just got my new 20 RMZ for $5870 plus the fees. Paid $229 to have it shipped.
