mike117 Started a new thread Bring back little trucks!!!
6/8/2022 8:18am Used to (and still do) love little trucks like this... long enough bed to hold a bike, much lower to the ground than today's trucks which makes loading much easier (especially for short guys like me), good mileage, etc. I've got a 2012 Nissan Frontier which I think is officially the "smallest" truck made now. Still quite a bit larger...

mike117 Added a reply to Riders wife questions?
8/16/2021 6:41pm I had no clue about any of that; I don't follow any of the riders on Instagram. From the picture I saw here, plus your input... she doesn't seem like the type to hang around when the glamour disappears (Weston no longer being a pro racer...). It just sucks for Weston, I don't know if the split was his idea...

8/16/2021 3:55pm That's a shame, I didn't know Weston Peick and his wife got divorced... speaking of Peick, has anyone heard any recent news on him? Has he got vision back in his injured eye? Any hope of it coming back?

8/6/2021 6:57pm Those were always cool to watch... can't say the riders didn't have room to pass! If I remember right, they reversed the course for the bikes as a opposed to the course the trucks ran.

8/5/2021 5:03pm Once I noticed I have been riding with the middle tabs unhooked I had the work to get the seat to fit correctly. I bent the tabs on subframe up just a little and took a file to the tabs on the seat base. Once I got it to fit right it goes on without a problem now. Just get everything started and hit the seat with a chopping motion towards gas tank, don’t have to hit it that hard.

8/5/2021 5:35am When I say pop the seat with my hand. I hit the middle of the seat with a karate chop motion towards the gas tank. Like you say the tabs slide forward, so pushing down wouldn’t do much. So as a fellow RM army guy my advise is karate chop your seat and enjoy your badass zook.

8/4/2021 7:29pm Try it with the seat at about a 35 degree angle and push a little bit around mid seat. It’ll go right on. As long as those tabs are under the subframe tabs, push down on the back of the seat and the holes should line up perfect

8/4/2021 7:17pm This sounds similar to the setup on my MT09. The standard seat is pretty easy to get on, but I purchased a "comfort" seat and that one needs pretty much all my body weight pushing down on it to flex the seat enough to align with the tabs.

8/4/2021 7:11pm It's crazy... 30+ years of removing and replacing seats on dirt bikes, this is the only one that's stumped me. I just went ahead bolted it back on with the seat tabs sitting on top of the tabs on the subframe. Probably swing by the dealer on my way to the track this weekend to see if they've got a...

8/4/2021 7:08pm I lightly pushed down on center of seat with one hand and pushed forward and down on the upward front section of the seat and never had an issue so I will assume something else is going on. And honestly, I down remember where the tabs were when it was on

8/4/2021 7:08pm I have a 2020 450 and I put 40 hours on it with the seat tabs on top of the subframe tabs. I got to looking at it one day and noticed. When I install the seat I get all the tabs started and when I need to get that last 1/2 inch I pop the middle of seat with my hand a couple times.

8/4/2021 6:26pm That's exactly what I did... but something didn't look quite right, and I realized the seat wasn't completely flush with the side panels, which is when I discovered the mid-seat tabs. I actually considered doing what you mentioned, just pounding on the middle of the seat, but it doesn't look like they're designed to go in that way (not a...

8/4/2021 5:38pm I should say I can get both tabs where they should be, but I've got about a quarter inch to go before the front part of the seat is flush with the tank, or lined up with the bolt holes at the rear.

8/4/2021 5:09pm Picked up a new 20 RMZ 250 last Friday, going to take it out this weekend. Wanted to see if the dealer oiled the air filter... (they did). I've never had a more difficult time getting a seat back into place in my life- it's got the usual tank tab that all bikes have, it's also got two plastic tabs...

mike117 Started a new thread Yoshimura muffler bigger than stock?
7/31/2021 3:43pm Wanting to upgrade the exhaust on my 20 RMZ 250 (most of FMF systems are out of stock). Looking at the Yoshi exhaust (at least the pictures) it almost looks like the Yoshi muffler is larger than the stock one. I find that hard to believe, but can anyone here let me know if it's true? Thanks

7/31/2021 3:17pm Speaking of that, anyone heard anything about when FMF's inventory might be back to normal? And thanks for the advice.
