Yup, I've bought year or two old 1 owner bikes since 2008. This time I want a new one. If supercross futures happens on the east coast this year I want to hit a couple for fun, plus Daytona. Few vet races too. That's really the only reason I want a freshie for 21..

10k for a dirt bike , for any bike is a lot of money. I make an ok living, I'm baffled how so many people are crawling over each other to buy a new Honda. And a pipe, cool gear, a truck to get it to the track. Good for you guys. I want to hear people in this country are thriving. If I can't afford something doesn't mean I don't want other people to also.I just don't understand it.
As far as availability, have any of you been to Walmart or the home Depot lately? There is a shortage of everything. Including change. Don't you think Honda is effected sourcing material and parts too.

Surprised to read the wet weight on the bike of 244. That's only a 3lb loss from 2020 model with dual exhaust. I thought for sure they were going to knock about 10-12lbs off the bike with the re-design.

The weight isnt an issue, weight placement is.

Ive never ridden a heavier bike than a KTM, feeling wise..

Agreed- Not to highjack, but my 2020 YZ feels way lighter than the scale says-

I understand Kiwifan. I wasn't intending to single Honda. New bikes are all great and fun for us. I just mean it's a big hit and I'm surprised so many can swing it. If I could, I would too

Just went and put a grand down to reserve one....The scary thing is they are saying that they haven't been allowed to order it yet but we are in Alaska sooo.

They did have a 21 450X though, looked pretty cool.

Not all dealers will get one. You might search for another dealer with allocation left? The dealers already know who's getting one.

That looks alot better. Still sad for the future owners, that 40,000 passes across America on 125,s will be completed. High tech ignition on the 450, place a ectro magnet with in 5 feet. Retards the ignition, fart, pop, pop, fart.Smile

Money's down.. dealer is treating me right. I'm first in line which I was surprised by. Rather large dealership too. Says their first rounds are said to be shipped as soon as next week. Second round, February.

I kinda posted it as a feeler and it had lots of traction. I didn't REALLY care if I sold it because I really like it and it's set up good. I sold it for what I posted it for. Told my wife I'd toss it up and if it sold I was buying a 21.. here we are.. lol

Shoot, I just had to give my 2018 away for $4700, I only paid $4300 for it so i'm not too upset.

The entire dual exhaust system was only 9 lbs, a little over 1 lb heavier than a stock KTM or Kawasaki exhaust.

Isn't that EVERY bike/car/anything in its first production year? That being said my 17 450 was pretty awesome and had no major flaws the entire time I owned it.

I would almost call the 21 a refined version. Sure the plastics are new but it's mainly tweaks to things that have already existed.

Bad reputations for first year bikes stick in the memory for a long time. The 97 CR250 was a long time ago, but people don’t forget. 2010 YZ450, same. What other first year bikes from back in the day were a big disappointment?

Nowadays, IMHO when there is a “bad” first year bike it’s really not that bad and easily fixed, not fatally flawed, but the small issues get blown out of proportion with mags and forums.

Don’t think there’s anything to worry about with new CRF.
