Apparently he didn’t pay some bills... bit embarrassing.. good luck to him though, I’ll get following his progress!

Pity you dont get the back story of a rip off Mercedes garage charging for something they didn`t fix. Pity you dont get the story of him trying to work with the garage to sort the problem whilst being overseas racing and out of the UK but that doesn`t make for great sensational TV. If the TV told the boring story it would have been pretty embarrassing for the garage.

Follow him on Instagram His life is a riot of fun. Somehow he juggles managing the Pivot Factory Racing MTB team and riding at the level he does and take on this crazy dream of making the night show at A1.

He is a fun guy to be around. He enjoys life.

Surprised at how cool and collected he was when calling the garage. I would have lost it.

Don’t hate the player, hate the game...

Looking forward to see how he does

He’s got a few chances as they let that Ford guy give it a whirl several times, even being 50 seconds per lap off pace.

Are we talking like the second coming of Shaun Palmer kind of 2 wheel level talent here?

I very much doubt the ACU will grant him license to compete, if he was road racing he would have to go through a novice induction to even get on track, with MX he would have to get someone to sign off that he is of a good enough standard, and as the inference is that he hasnt actually raced , i cant see it happening. To get Clearance to race SX he would need a full international license and the insurance that goes with it ,and i dont see them signing off on that .

In fact , thinking about it , when i raced in the US, i had to take out an AMA Pro License, which the ACU validated, but as you cant hold a license for two FIM organisations at the same time i had to surrender mine, but still take out their Repatriation Insurance.. i say it cant happen.
I'd say it's already happened. He's been out in America with Jordan Booker for 2 weeks already, I doubt he would have done that without having all the licence stuff in place. He's sponsored by Fly, Maxxis and Renthal so will have plenty of connections to 'guys in the know' in the moto industry to help and advise him on all the hoops to jump through and the various application processes.

If you post pointless crap that has nothing to do with the thread title expect to be called out on it. Its Vital after all.

Im a 51 year old Vet rider. Maybe my age helps me appreciate these kids doing what they do.Why would anybody not root for him unless they are bitter or jealous but i bet he would appreciate the support.

If he makes it then great! If he found a loophole that lets him get his license then great! If I could have found any loophole back when I was trying to make it happen I would have. But money talks and my wallet was too thin back then.
Hell I even emailed DC himself with no luck!

Good for him! Keep it on two wheels and enjoy the ride!

Muddy he makes it, not muddy he doesn't.

Racing an AMA SX is a whole different animal, just ask the euro MX champs who have tried one off races.

I just hope his big hairy balls don't get him seriously hurt.

I can’t tell for sure from this thread, but are some inferring that he’s never actually raced a single MX/SX race ever? Only ridden without racing?

If that’s the case, any federation issuing a pro license should be banned from FIM recognition.

Doesn't look like he's done any MX racing, much less at the pro level.

talent on 2 wheels is talent on 2 wheels. I do feel like it usually works better the other way around though....moto guys catch on to mtb better/faster than mtb guys catch onto moto. While alot of it is transferable its a lot easier to go from wrestling 230lbs to 30lbs than it is 30 to 230. It worked out good for Aaron gwin anyway..
Wrestle? What do you ride that you have to wrestle it? Finesse... ask Roczen

I don't like the Palmer comparisons. Different times, different people.

Right so this sums up vital.

People moan that gates are half empty, should be easier and cheaper for privateers to ride. Fill the gates!

Fast dude who’s getting helped by McGrath gets bashed and told he shouldn’t get a entry cause it’s insulting the sport, showing it no respect.

So what do we want? Let the guy ride, if he qualifies fair play. If he doesn’t then least he can say he tried, unlike 99% of us on here.

Just to be clear, you're saying that someone who has never actually raced in the sport should be able to get a professional license and do what's basically a time trial to enter an event of the highest level?

Doesn't that just sound absolutely crazy?

Has anyone found any MX or SX results for him?

I just can't imagine that any rational person would believe that someone's first attempt at a sport should include having the ability to enter a World Championship (or even National Championship) event. Unless they actually believe that the sport really doesn't take any time to learn and it's really just an easy sport that anyone could ride a little bit and qualify for a World Championship event......

Enough so that they are willing to risk the safety of other riders who have been riding for many years during qualifying.

Totally agree.... palmer was a generational talent.

Don't forget, he had a factory honda ride for the outdoors, but he got hurt right away.

Should make for some good storylines on tv if he can make it to the night program. How much amateur experience does the guy have? qualifying on a track that you dont know with limited time, near other racers is not easy.

This... exactly.. and only this. Take your emotions out of the mix. He is openly hoping for an "also-ran" and that's cool... that's all the better I ever did...lol

To me this is one of the coolest stories of the offseason. I'm a big fan of downhill racing and Kerr, and really want so see him do good.

As "Micky Mouse" as Pro SX and MX rules, racing, and decisions can be at times, Bernard Kerr wanting to line up for A1 is the biggest disgrace since Ronnie Ford to some of you?

I wish him the best. Pro SX/MX has 99 problems and Bernard Kerr is not one of them.

It’s embarrassing that you’re likely this Bernard Kerr guy based on your username, lack of previous posts until this thread existed, and that you commented somewhere else saying that you’re from the UK. People make mistakes I know I sure have...but still weird to read.
