I wonder how much money they would have to give to get all the riders back?

$5 million? 10?

What a overhyped event 3x 12min of racing.
I always practice on my spinning bike watching the race of the night before, it was a sort practice.

I thought the racing was great last night, but the rest of the program was lacking as usual. The commentary was typically horrific (Ralph and Ricky), and the time for the event was just waaaaaay too long overall.

For one off races I suppose it's fine, but the rider turn out was poor, thankfully Eli, Malcom, and AC put on a good show.

Is what it is, but I'm looking forward to Paris SX and the other Euro races, always really good events. Super Pole anyone???

The whole place was cheering until the end. So I guess being there made it cool.
This, that was an epic event to attend. Between the freestyle/best whip, bmx demo, and the unreal racing this was an awesome event all day long.

The sounds of a gate full of superminis firing up was pure music.

I turned it off and watched a movie. Whatever floats your boat.

I was excited for it. Have to say I was underwhelmed while watching. Not a deep field, and a tough track for passing. The announcing is still a mess. Malcolm and Adam were feel good stories. Not terrible, just not great.

You can’t kiss a pig on the lips and make it look like a Victoria’s Secret Model. Tried it.

I enjoyed watching it. I also enjoyed straight rhythm, maybe a little more because I like two strokes and the 90s vibe. Idk why you gotta pick sides or act like an elitist douche because you like one over the other.

I enjoyed the actual racing but fuck me the amount of filler in between plus the sheer onslaught of constant fucking over and over again advertising on a paid TV service makes it an absolute grind.

I was watching with my FIL and was almost embarrassed by the amount of advertising time on ESPN2.

Is it that bad in the States???

It's the same format in the SX season it really takes the piss out viewing.

I just want more excitebike joker lane sections. That was a blast to watch them through.

I don’t see why anyone would ever wanna race it. It’s dangerous because they experiment with new stuff. Off the top of my head over the years:

Going the opposite way and making the riders remember two tracks at once.

Having the start on a downhill ramp into a tight left hand turn.

Having the joker lane re-entry cross over the main line.

Okay I guess that’s only 3 in 9 years but that’s still too many. Vegas is always high speed and little traction, so that alone makes things more dangerous as well. Plus it’s the off season. Who wants to gear up for some one off race smack dab in the middle of your only break after 9 months of grinding it out.

What if they made Monster Alley itself the Joker Lane? You stay inside the stadium unless you’re taking the Joker Lane, which is the same Monster Alley outside the stadium.

I also was very impressed watching the race this year. Wish they show more the racers behind the pack in all the classes. I wish minis and futures were part of every SX weekends. Would give the younger families and kids additional action to watch.

its always my favorite race of the year.. i like watching the upcoming amatuers and how they progress into pros.. i think MEC gives the abilities of non factory riders a chance to shine... Bike skills come out at MEC... IMO...

Like that chance Hymas kid in Super Mini 2nd moto jumping over the first jump into the sand(even though he was on team green bike, still a ton of bike skill and vision of the track)...

And then Jett Lawrence, that kids needs to go pro already.. this be his rookie year.. he made everyone there look silly it wasnt even close.. and then in 2021 he will be fighting for a regional sx title for sure..

yeah ! since so many people didnt show up we should just cancel the race so we get one less to watch ! I'd totally rather not have the option of watching the race.

Definitely paused the race to watch Altuve crank a walk-off homer...

Honestly the race felt flat...I was watching it and it felt so insignificant for what ever reason. Didn't even come close to a SX race. IDK what it was either. The last race was the only thing really worth watching. Talent in both AM classes were WAYYY down. No heavy hitters.

It appears the near capacity crowd doesn't share your opinion.

Was it near capacity? Looked pretty empty when AC was doing his victory lap or did everyone leave before the final race? Matthes was also mentioning attendance was pretty light on his wrap up podcast.

Finally watched it last night, was one of the best events we some great racing I have seen on the screen for awhile.

Between the great on track battles up front, Friese impressing, AC and Tomac going at it and Malcom killing it it was great to watch. Probably a lot going on behind them, but with so much action up front you can't blame them for only showing the front runners.

Add in the great attitude of young Ferry and Jett and it was a great event.

For sure the field seemed depleted somewhat but in fairness the racing and finish was so close it made up for it. So in someways it was really good.

Surprised AC got it but credit to him! Also was great to see Mookie and Freise right up the front, so also there were maybe a few surprises. Defo was some close racing, or so it seemed to me from alot of them. Was great when they were all level on 4 points going into that last race.

Think it has lost it lustre abit, or this year anyway but the racing made up for it.

Industry seating was packed and seats in other parts of the stadium were few and far between They also had an excessive amount of seats covered in black tarp with the Monster Logo near the up into the stands part. Safety first but they had areas covered no one could have launched into.

I had a blast! Pits were ehh, not much to see. But there was definitely some good racing.

Definitely nowhere near capacity. I would guess 60-70% in the stadium itself. There were plenty of empty seats all over.
