If AC gets the Kawi position and Joey is out, that would be a tragedy. I think that Joey has earned that spot. He's gotten better and better all year. He doesn't crash or lose focus as much as AC.
I know AC is good, but I think Joey's upside is better.
If I was at Kawi, I'd try and keep all 3, or let AC go to another team.

Also, IMO would be strange to see Musquin on anything other than a KTM to be honest
TLD has too many contracts in place for big moves. Smith is set for next year and I believe Shane is as well. Then they have Drake moving up. Falk and Cantrell’s deals are up though. Cantrell won’t be there next year but I think they will retain Falk.

What about Pierce Brown?

I was surprised Cantrell did not do better than he has. I thought he was kind of the next big thing. Interesting how so many kids can't make it from star amateur to success in the pro ranks. Those guys have a lot of extra pressure I would imagine. Wonder if he ends up in full privateer mode after this season?

Any possibility of a Kawi satellite team? I really think they have to keep JS17 but they should also hold on to AC92. If ET3 stays, that might be their only option unless they decide to field a 3 man team.

AC is still 250 eligible for next year

Didn’t read every post so if this has been posted I apologize.

Marvin has an offer to return to KTM but doesn’t want to be around Little Doooshe Coop so he has talked to two other teams.

Ken is returning.

Eli has a third year option, he shopped for a new deal but no takers for the money he wants so he will stay put another year.

Ciancirillo will be Eli’s team mate.

This part is pure speculation, Marvin will ride a Honda next year

So if AC goes to Kawi, and Marvin goes to Honda, then does Joey go to KTM and be teammates with Zach and Cooper, LOL?

Kaw : no way
Yam : already full

AC is 22 years old now correct? Stay another year in the 250 class?

I think that would be a bad move for someone who has visions of being a 450 champion.

The fact that Ciancarulo is a MonsterEnergy guy is not to be overlooked. I don't know if that can match with HRC. And I assume that Monster push to keep AC92 at Kawa.

Musquin want to race supercross.

Forkner in SX, is regulary injuried (again this year, while the title was almost done). Maybe not the most reliable option from the point of view of KTM.
Honda has no energy drink sponsor, therefore no conflicts for AC92 remains a monster athlete at HRC Honda. Not saying I know anything, cause I most definitely do not. I do know that a rider could essentially ride for any energy drink they want at HRC though, Kenny brought redbull with him.

Edit- this has already been stated. My bad, carry on...

I don’t see Marv going to Rocky Mtn KTM because he wouldn’t be able to do his own gear, helmet, goggle, and boots deal and I’m sure he makes a lot of money with that. And they’re sponsored by 51/50 energy so he wouldn’t be able to continue with Red Bull either. I see him going to another factory team before going to Rocky Mtn KTM.

If Prado wins the MX2 world championship again this year then I think Roger gets him over here, but not on TLD KTM, Prado will go straight into the factory KTM rig. Prado has expressed his interest in racing Supercross and racing in America and if he wins the title again he’ll be forced to move up to the 450 for next year, unless they change the rules out of nowhere. But TLD KTM needs to get some better contenders. Smith and McElrath are title contenders in SX but not outdoors. They should go after Ferrandis if his contracts is up. Is Derek Drake better then Cantrell and Falk? He’s going pro at Hangtown for TLD KTM.

If Prado wins MX2 title i would put my money that the FIM rule gets lifted. It won't be the first time. Prado has 0 interest to compete in AMA. He wants to collect world titles and beat Tony one day.

It's correct that Prado isn't particularly interested in the US anymore. He was a few years ago before he started racing the world championship but it has faded now.

I don't think YS will bother changing the rules for him because I don't think he's interested in staying in mx2 anymore if he wins it again. He has his sights on becoming a mxgp legend and want to move up to challenge Herlings and TC, no matter how young he is

I didn’t know that Prado wasn’t that interested in coming to America now, that changes things. I think the FIM will lift the rule also, they change rules whenever they want even if it’ll affect a rider that already has a contract signed like Weltin. I don’t see Prado being able to challenge Cairoli next year, let alone Herlings. But I get why he’d want to stay over there, I really wanted to see him race the outdoor series over here on a 250.

Eli stays. Ken stays. Marvin stays.

There are three major questions to be answered, who does AC sign with, can JGR find a title sponsor, and does WP18 come back?

AC goes to Kawi, then JS17 would need to find a ride...either with HRC or JGR.

AC goes to HRC, JS17 stays at Kawi and if JGR has funding, do they hire Deano, who still needs a ride in '20. If they don't get a title sponsor, do they go racing with WP18 and CR22??

Cole Seely would be left out unless HRC went with a 3-man team. His only options would be JGR (if they find a title sponsor and WP18 can't return) or MCR with HRC support. But who does MCR let go? JB10 doesn't seem ready to retire, Mookie looked good before the crash, and VF is probably a good value.

There could be an opening at RMATV KTM but that deal includes gear, which guys like JS17, Deano, and Cole make good money from their gear sponsors, so unlikely. I think if JB19 stays healthy, he stays there.

There will be a lot fewer changes this year than in previous years, as all the big dogs are staying put. A few of the second-tier guys will be moving...Deano, JS17, and Cole. That's about it, IMO.

I don't see HRC taking a shot on JS17 this season, I think HRC will only make moves for Marvin. If not, a healthy/confident Cole is a safer bet than JS17. Also if we are speaking silly here, Can Honda pay both Marvin & Roczen big $$$?? Who would get more? Marvin is higher in points in sx and a better national rider as of late. But no way they start paying Marvin more.. unless they believe Ken will remain a top 5 guy for the rest of his career.

Side note: It seems everyone finds a way to violently throw themselves off of the Honda. Besides Kdub who was stayed healthy on that bike?

So anyone that isn't American is "Euro" now? Laughing

I dont believe there´s a good candidate for it right now. Maybe another french SX rider takes another shot? (Like Soubreyras)

Reed stays at JGR, he wouldn't move up there and plant roots if he didn't end his SX career there in a year or two. They also keep WP18 due to his crash, be a pretty crap move if they fired him after coming back. HRC has deeper pockets than any team out there, Honda is MASSIVE and racing is at their roots. They have spent a ton of money on KR94 and will be looking for a good #2 rider. Seely fits the bill but maybe they expand like they did in 07/08 when they had Millsaps, Tedesco, Townley and Short?

The thing with CR22 'staying' at JGR. It is not his choice. It is JGR's choice on bringing him back. He only got signed this year when WP got injured. It was uncertain before that happened.

I hope JGR brings him back but not sure they will.

I can see Prado to the US next year a possibility, unless Tom Vialle is a solid 2nd place in the championship late on in the series, and Prado feigns injury again, losing the title to Vialle.

Would say that TKO (Olsen), if in a solid 2nd place late on, the same happens, but unsure if Redbull would be happy about a Rockstar athlete surpassing one of theirs for a championship.
