I don’t really know who is right here. It’s probably somewhere in the middle.

But Matthes skates by a lot when it comes to inconsistent opinions depending on whether he wants to be buddies with people.

There was a 15+ page thread on here on why Mike Williamson left Kawasaki. Two different stories came about and each side was adamant they were right and the other was blowing smoke. It was near the top of the page for a week straight. How did you miss it?!

When you combine Johnny T’s comments with what Nerd has said (and was supported by ML512) and then look at Eli’s results since Williamson left......... sorta hard to argue against this.

I’m torn in between. Do you really think Williamson on race day was like “yeah you feel comfortable but let’s go back to these settings”... I really have no idea but have you seen nascar drivers have dramatic results after they change crew chiefs? They really do believe it or not

I️’m thinking Williamson meant well. Eli probably is not a good tester. Maybe has a hard time pen pointing what he’s looking for. Mike probably pushes what he believes in, what he saw work for RV thinking it would work for ET.

That was 4 races ago....
Even with Williamson gone it would take some time to get his settings correct. Two races sounds about right. Certainly looks about right.

I do think that. I know it's been said here before but watch Jake Weimers episode of "Spectrum Series". I know its available on Vimeo. It's almost unbelievable to me, considering I always thought the rider had much more say in bike setup. He doesn't mention names, but he does say Kawasaki forced him to run RV's settings the entire time he was there. The only thing he was allowed to change was his clutch and brake levers. At contract time, they promised him things would change and he could run his own settings so he renewed, and it was right back to RV's settings.

Jake comes across like a pretty honest guy and gives a good interview. I can't see him making this up. Regardless, it's a pretty good episode all around.
