Well they have 2 weeks until the Daytona Supercross by Honda. You'd think they would have a body or two on the track for "their" race. I say call K Dub. Maybe it will rain. Wink Smile
It's not "their" race any more. It's sponsored by Monster, just like all the other rounds.

I assume they'll pull some riders from GEICO. I'd guess Craig could be one...but I wouldn't see Jeremy as out of the question.

Also, Cole didn't go to the Alpinestars Mobile Medical Unit...he was transported directly to the local hospital.

I'm starting to feel a little guilty about being interested in and following supercross...I'm no new age lefty sooky la la by any stretch of the imagination...it's always been dangerous, I have a seriously deformed right leg after a bad break, I'm shorter due to compression fractures in my spine and my right ankle is more or less fused...all due to injuries I sustained either racing or practicing for supercross here in Australia, mostly through the 80's and 90's... It's always been extremely dangerous... And I've always loved it!
it just seems to me now that it's gotten far too dangerous when we are seeing superbly trained athletes going out with seriously debilitating and ultimately life changing / affecting injuries like these poor bastards have been enduring this year...these guys are the very best and yet they are still getting badly hurt...
Something about me feeling like I'm one of the Romans up in the cheap seats at the coliseum witnessing the blood bath...
I think I might just stop looking up the supercross results every week and just wait to follow the outdoor nationals instead....

Not gonna speculate as to what can be done to make things safer...we all have our own opinions...I have mine for sure...
Just gonna stop following supercross so as to make myself feel a little better...
These riders....all of them are just amazing...it's starting to really annoy me seeing them get so busted up..

A valid point.

It is turning from a race series into a survival contest.

Could be the actual last man riding.

This thread is full of some seriously good posts. Some dark maybe insensitive as noted, but solid thread.

Sheesh. Never took him as the guy to blow up like that after retirement

It’s not genetics. You aren’t genetically a fat person. It’s from eating calories and not working out anymore. And James is a lazy guy it seems like. Well I mean I know he trained hard while he was racing but I don’t think he enjoyed it.

Where someone like Dungy rides bicycles for fun and will keep doing and stay fit because he likes it.

Now that the races are timed why not work on making more tracks that are a hybrid (daytona-esque). Maybe a few less jumps or rythm sections. The sand rhythm section was cool and slowed the guys down.

I say make change's to the tracks, these guys have to be so perfect on timing especially as they start pushing the envelope to be at the front. Why not help them out a little and make the tracks a little safer?

Daytona has always been a cool track even when it didn't have as many jump's. Just my opinion.

Oh and if I were Honda I would pay js7 a fair salary to come out and race. The exposure would be huge and he could be a contender by the end of sx if he stayed healthy.

My bad. Didn't get the memo. Honda has sponsored that race for so long, I just assumed they still were. Daytona will have a different look then this year.

They should apologize to Ricky...maybe that will end the red curse.
Might be worth a shot.

Not sure about SX but Nicoletti is still available for outdoors. J-mart and Phil. Factory Honda. I'd be a fan.

Well Ken will be ready for outdoors, but Cole’s out till at least next SX season.

Can’t imagine HRC running the Outdoors w/ one guy.

I thought it was Ricky's choice to leave Honda and that they even offered more money than Suzuki?

He's bigger (a round) than Malcolm
He’s bigger around than RC. And that’s almost as hard to do as beating RC in a National.

Agreed. Same boat for RC, MC, Dungey. Will be interesting to see if Dunge can keep it off.
Ummm...Ryan doesn’t exactly come from skinny-stock either! You seen his folks?

That said...JB10 to replace Seely. Stamp that.

So basically, if you’re a good rider as a kid and your parents are fat asses, you’re going to be a legend in MX/SX?

Awesome! I’m hitting a pizza and a pack of Klondike bars for lunch today. Wink

Cite your source on Seely being out for the rest of the year.
