CCR Racing/Race Tech, prepped 2009 Honda 450. That bike ruined riding for me. I have yet to ride a bike that had suspension that good. I have spent endless amounts of money to get my bikes to handle and feel like that and have yet to get close, other than my 09 RMZ 450 that I bought from them and it was amazing as well. Just not quite as good as that honda.

1981 rm 125, back in 1981, I was in 6th grade, we had a good riding spot right behind my middle school. A few of us skipped school to go riding. kid showed up with a brand new 81 rm 125, water cooled, single shock all shinny & new. Kid let everyone ride it, up to that point all I rode was total junk beaters. That bike may as well been beamed down from outer space! We could not stop talking about it that day. Later that week we found out the kid stole it from his next door neighbor. Been addicted ever since.

Only 2 bikes ever scared me. GSXR1000 and a V Max. Had just piped and jetted both. Did not realize the GSXR had been spinning the rear tire doing a WFO run and after turning rolled on the throttle and it stood straight up instead of spinning. V Max .... Shit FAST but brakes sucked and you can not turn it.

Bought a full blown RPM 1981 KX250 from a rider that was hit on his bicycle training. That bike was so fast I could let everyone jump off the line and still pull the holeshot. That bike moved me to A class then broke my back at my 1st A race.

Nick Weys 2004? rm250 practice bike with factory suspension on it. He had the rebound damping so slow, I almost looped it out over the first two jumps.. I was amazed at how it felt low in the rear, but still turned sharp. I could ride that bike as hard as i could, and never felt out of control, and the track was rough and choppy. That suspension was a highlight of my life riding mx bikes.

most memorable bike. I came across a 2002 team green bike. it had JS etched in the subframe (which was lowere a few mm) and the cylinder pipe was cut to accomodate too. Suspension was stiff for my dad who was 220. The motor is what stood out the most though. NO bottom but the bike pulled and pulled. I was actually pulling faster lap times than my 250f all the while railing every outside turn to keep momentum up. BUT it was a lot of work

I'm surprised nobody mentioned the 1981/82 RM125. I had a brand new 82 CR250. I friend had a 82 RM125. He wanted to ride my brand new Honda. I said sure if I can ride you're RM. He said ok. We were riding at the E Street track up in Yuba City California during the winter. It's a sand track and it was after a rain so it was fantastic.

I was a 6'1" 205lb guy at the time so I didn't ride 125s. I was only a good top three novice at the time. After one lap of getting used to the little bike I felt like I was a pro. I never felt so smooth and fast on a MX bike ever. That thing had perfect power and the suspension was the best I had ever rode with. I was sorry I bought that 82 Honda.

I have been actually thinking of trying to find one of those 125s and restore it.

It was my first bike, when I got it home in the summer of '99 I literally had only ever been on a CR80 for about a quarter mile.

I pulled out of my driveway and took it up the hot tar and chip road only about 100yards. At first I was very disappointed thinking the bike had a bad clutch. As I returned, I noticed all the black marks on the road....What I thought was slipping, was spinning.

My Face=Dizzy I knew then that shit had just got real.

kind fo 2 really for me 1990 cr250r. (first bike I bought with my own money and raced too. and 1990 kx500 was the craziest bike I ever rode when I was young. loved to roost guys on that bike so much id always look behind me to see who I could get ha ha

This POS almost made me quit riding mx!! For the life of me I could not ride this bike at all, was constantly swapping and power hit so hard you could not control it in corners. When we were practicing I came back to the pits after I did the biggest swap I had ever done in the whoops at Marysville e-street. I sat there, and said I think I am done for the day and maybe for good just cant seem to ride good anymore. My best friend said here go ride his Zook 125 floater for awhile. I took that bike out and i swear after just a couple of laps I was like 10 seconds a lap faster and did not come back in for 20 minutes!! Had the biggest shit eating grin on my face, and my buddy let me ride it some more the rest of the day, didnt even touch the Honda. I went out the following Tuesday and ordered the 250 watercooled floater and said bye-bye to the Honda!!

(they ran three motos back in the day kids). it was sooooo light, shifted without the clutch, blazing fast and handled like a dream, at least compared to my husky!!!! For me it was my 2003 YZ450. The bike that was "too powerful". I ride in Michigan in a lot of sand and my home track is Baja Acres for those that are familiar. That thing just ate up those sand hills and whoops and I was in good enough shape to hang on to it back then. It seemed like it had awesome over rev power. I got a new 2005 and I was really disappointed with it in comparison.

Most MX bikes I've owned have seemed pretty much "run of the mill", some being a little more dialed in than others but nothing out of the ordinary. Except for two, my 1996 YZ 250 with full Noleen motor and FC suspension done by Ziggy himself. I swear that bike fell from the heavens and landed on my stand. The other would have to be 2003 YZ450f, ungodly fast hard hitting power allowed you to do the fastest 5 laps you've ever done in your life but then you were toast, that is if the terrible forks didn't put you in the hospital.
Very honorable mention would have to go my 2006 Gas Gas 300XC, in the tight New England woods riding that bike was an absolute dream and was the most unique bike I've ever owned.

I totally agree. Best motor ever. 4 speed was awesome and it pulled like a motherfucker. Loved that motor, and the bike too actually.
