And yes Dungey has taken advantage of those times Villo was injured. But when they race Villopoto wins time and time again. Mechanicals happen to everyone and if Dungey was so unhappy with the technicians that are regarded as some of the best in the pits (Decoster, Harrison etc.), I'm sure he would have left by now.

East Coast in the dead of summer I do not see Roczen walking away from him like that. Kenny's as fit as he's ever been but I'm not convinced he can do back to back 30+2's at the lead pace when its 98* with humidity. Remember how cool last summer was?

Sorry mate, I'll never buy that shit unless it's the very last race.

The riders race and ride a series as they need to. If you've got more points to make up over the course of a series then they'll take more chances etc, likewise if you've got a big lead you're likely to conserve when need be... You can't just swap a mechanical for x amount of points, there are too many variables.

And either either, it's bike, rider and team. If it was just rider, it'd be a running race. If it was bike and rider, it'd be local racing, but it's pro, and the teams ability to make that bike finish counts.

People forget when RV broke his leg in St. Louis Dungey had the points lead and was leading the race, nothing was given to him.

It is a by product for those of us that rarely lose it that when we do it is a full meltdown. I've gotten wiser over the years (don't tell anyone please) plus I'm motivated to not aggravate my injuries by stressing out and activating certain muscle groups. Freaking amazing the effect the mind can have on the body. I probably have only had two meltdowns in the last five years and hope that number is zero over the next five years. The only thing getting angry did was make me hurt and did zero to change whatever had "woken the bear up" originally.

Counting to ten really does help plus it give you time to locate potential weapons to utilize in case the counting thing doesn't work. Tongue

Visiting this website several times daily, I've concluded that for some reason that isn't totally clear to me, RD is by far the most discussed rider. There doesn't seem to be much middle ground. There are many that just love to slam him every chance they get and there are others that try and defend him from haters.

The man is very talented. He is one of the top riders on this side of the world. He says the right things when interviewed. He gets upset when his results aren't what he thinks they should be (show me a rider that wants to win that doesn't). He may not be the most talented rider, but he isn't too far off and by that I mean, he is very close to RV, KRoc, JS.

I'm not sure I understand, but I think his detractors want to see him ride above his ability like others do and risk serious injury. I don't dislike any of these guys. I'm amazed at their ability. RV is a great champion, but he rides on the brink and sometimes beyond the brink of human ability and has suffered some serious injuries. JS used to either win or crash out. KRoc looks great, but imo, if RV were competing in the outdoor's and consistently winning like I suspect he would, he may be pushing that much harder and risking serious injury.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but some of us would rather see these guys riding totally out of control and constantly being injured. It doesn't really make a difference what any of us want our hero's to do. Their internal makeup is going to determine how they approach their professional career. I believe the RD haters can't forgive him for not crossing that line.
