" I hate getting old but I'm very thankful to have been a teenager in the 70s" Yep, I agree 100% mumbles. The 70's was awesome to be a teenager and especially with the explosion of Dirt Bikes and Motocross! Would not change it for anything. Although I wish I could find that time machine Mr Wizard... 😬 75 RM125. Across the street from my childhood home, what was left of G hill after they put the #2 Glendale freeway through it. 😬 The tree in the background use to be our treehouse, the whole mountain connected with awesome trails...

I hate getting old but I'm very thankful to have been a teenager in the 70s. Started racing MX in 72. Had a 1969 Camaro in HS with an Sanyo 8 Track player (had a case in the back seat with 24 8 tracks). You could ride in any open field and nobody complained. And there were a lot of dirt bikes in the 70s. No internet, no social media. Just riding dirt bikes, hanging out with friends and listening to rock. Life was good.

I’m quoting a longtime member here, SoCalMX70… Being within 1-2 seconds of Jett is the most useless metric in motocross.

The base Suzuki that Kenny and his crew developed is arguably one of the best ever. Suzuki Japan are in a fucking great position to refine the bike, whilst sticking to the same geometry, they can deliver the most user friendly bike catering to the average rider at a great price. Roczen and his crew proved to the whole world that the old Zook, at Pro level, can get the job done. We all witnessed it. Kenny proved that we don't need new untested shit sold at astronomical costs to us every couple of years. It's a money grab that...

I find stats interesting, and I’m an unashamed Hunter fan, so thought this was awesome and hard to believe that after so many legends, that it’s a first. Stolen from We Went Fast: “ Never Been Done: Hunter Lawrence is the first rider in premier class history to finish top five in each of his first 25 starts.”

Back in business school, I did a paper on the commercial viability of Honda’s last gasp in the 2 stroke market. Things might be very different if they continued to pursue this technology.

How about a Honda RC250MA? Full automatic! I believe the tech from this went into the Goldwing auto gearbox. Imagine a CR340MA for offroad.

According to Ian Harrison there’s very little difference in the bikes apart from fuel spec and noise regs. Nonetheless the impressive part is them flying directly from Europe, riding a track they’ve never ridden, different race day format, and getting great results. Not going to read too much into a one off result, let’s see how Southwick and Ironman go, but they’ve certainly shown the potential to be front runners. This is as much a commentary on the US 250 class as it is on Sacha’s abilities but I think he would be the title favourite if he moved here...

Those guys came over here, kicked ass and took names with very little in the way of preparation. Those bikes must have been in the ballpark at best and not even close to their normal comfort and confidence level. Probably sharing very few components and feedback levels. Un freakinbeleivable. And meanwhile Sexton and Prado are bitching up a storm.

Watching Lucas’s bike coming into corners, his rear wheel never seemed to be tracking correctly. Rebound appeared to be off. Very understandable with the lack of time they were presented with. Imagine once they get a bike set up for him. I do love the fact that he goes out and races, hauls the mail and is so thankful afterwards. Nothing about the bike set up, getting acclimated or any other excuse. He was happy and acknowledged that he lost to the best rider in the world, thanks everyone for making this possible and thats it. Love that stuff.

If the Kawi 2 stroke thread has taught me anything, a 100 page thread is necessary to conjure a new bike.

There’s no rivalry, just one sided infatuation. Deegan is obsessed with Jett and Jett ignores Deegan. The end.

Here is what I saw, HD riding on the very limit and looking sketchy a number of times, if you like, a faster Barcia (both love the rev limiter) JL struggling with flow (not his normal smoothness) but still controlling the pace and staying in front.

Or leave the wood chips and sawdust at home and just let hardpack be hardpack? I don’t understand why every track has to feature a rutty, intermediate terrain surface.
