I,m in alot of pain here too in a fight to get back epidural, etc.  the good ones are in bed by 9 to get up at 5am to work jobs no one else will.  I see them in every st doing jobs that no one else would take.  Some are 1930,s type sticking there arms into a press when it goes up for a sec. It was illegaly built on the res . The Tribe was getting screwed by the gov. So they knocked on the door new yrs eve in a snow storm & said our car broke down . 2 entered then & announced where The Mennominee  warrior society & where here to seize the property, crazy stuff. That was intense because everyone said kill them all .  The near by town was our fair & we shopped there. Everything was boarded up.  And being part Indian your at risk of being attacked . This created tension for yrs.  Even today nobody goes on the res at night. They thought they where going to start taking town s over & reclaiming there land, paranoid people.  I thought ice was going after the criminal illegals . Now there raiding manufacturing co.s , construction sites.  Getting the 120 counties of illegals out of trucks should be the priority. Having 3 to 5 in one truck is messed up . Only one is paid . Slavery is at a all time high in America.  I took 2 co.s to iL. Labor dept court . Racist judge denied the claim because of my Native American last name .  Retaliation maybe because iL. Lost a 175 yr court battle in Decalb in 24. The Indians where awarded a 132 acre park . Not there millions of acres. The Tribe went on vacation to Ks. Came back & there land deeds where forged saying they sold it. All of Chicago land same thing .  Because iL. Doesn’t hv the money to maintain it.  Get the economy going because it’s worse than the 1930,s.  The government gave away free condos , mini vans, 5k each for cloths , phones, furniture, computers etc . To 53 African countries of people do they all get deported ?

Our immigration system is broken. We allow individuals to enter our country claiming amnesty, but we don’t allow them to work or pay taxes. This leads to this mess, trying to sort all of this out.  Biden should be ashamed for allowing this to happen.   It will take Congress to address this issue, not an ineffective billion-dollar fence. Fixing this system should be their top priority. These individuals are not villains; they are simply trying to support their families, just like anyone would in desperate times.

The unfortunate truth is that we don’t have enough young Americans willing to take on jobs that require physical labor, such as running jackhammers or wheelbarrows. If we need workers, we should allow them to come here, work and pay taxes.  If we don't need workers, then by all means keep them out.  I’m not advocating for exploitative labor conditions; they should receive fair pay for their work and not be subjected to unreasonable hours. That’s just my two cents.

As far as AI is concerned, the closer you are to the real work, the less effect AI will have on your job. AI isn't  going to be replacing head gaskets or transmissions in our lifetimes. Or pouring concrete or plumbing pipes, etc.

Dude, they're developing Ai machinery to shoot missiles out of the sky, perform unassisted surgeries, and print 3D houses... if you think pouring concrete and plumbing pipes is going to be safe in the long run then you have no idea the scale of hurt that is coming down the pipeline for the working man.

Yup, but less so as a new home owner. If shit goes wrong I want to be able to point to someone with a certificate should insurance ask who fucked it up.

Yup, but it's far and away my least favorite thing to do. Got shocked once 20 something years ago and fuuuuuck that. Also, same deal as plumbing, if there is a fuck up and the house burns down, I don't need insurance pointing the finger at me.

Framing?
Yup, it was a summer job when I was in high school. Framing and building fences was how I was able to buy my first brand new dirt bike.

For building houses, no, but I started my career in marketing and I do a shit ton of PR, pitching, and fundraising in my current job so I am very experienced with the process.
