Any info on the tanks they used for the yz250’s?

I believe Docwob used GMX radiators on all of his builds for this event, so it's probably one of their tanks modified with the flush caps and 'FAI' as they call out. I checked their site and couldn't find anything more on them.

It was awesome, a few things I learned or remembered from the weekend:

A full field of 125s through the valley is still purely 100% what motocross is about

Ryan Voase is still silky smooth and rode that 500 with authority

English pissed up motocross fans can be twats

English motocross fans can be awesome

Hard pack tracks should still be used

2 strokes should have never gone anywhere

Pink TM’s were and are still cool

Chuck Davies has the best looking bike and gear combo

Mike brown is not human
Davies has some beautiful bikes. He's got an awesome Instagram page

Americans looked great by the way.
Sorry but no. It was amazing and I loved it but Matterly Basin Nations 06. Stewart vs Everts, 1 time only. That will take some beating.

What happened Saturday night? Guessing it was bad if they can'd the Sunday after party.

Not surprising unfortunately.

Beer + Dickheads = scuffle.

Tiny minority which didn’t really spoil the event.

Oh and to add to my previous comments, let’s just send Brad Anderson to Red Bud on the 500 and see what happens!

Thank you both!

Easily one of the best weekends of my life - Dave and Wobs put on such a special event and we're all still on a high after 4 days away.

I didn't have the best results on the Saturday with a start crash that ultimately cost me a podium by a point, but a holeshot and win in the final moto of the weekend was incredible in front of such a huge crowd.

I built a '96 PC KX125 replica to race. Put a lot of time into the bike over the past year which ran flawlessly. It has an ex-Pro Circuit race team motor from Mitch, period Factory KYB suspension built by Nick at Pro Racing Suspension and a cupboards worth of factory and PC parts. It's a rocket and the handling is spot on.

I had some replica AXO '96 kit made (Green version for Saturday, Purple for Sunday) by a new company over here called RIDE MFG, and a new custom painted Moto 10 by Image Design Custom in the '96 PC team design which came out so well.

Bring on next year!

You were long gone in the last race on Sunday and with how sunny it was it was as luminous as I've ever seen a KX 🤣 Awesome job across the board, bike, kit, riding, the lot 👍

Is that Kinger in the background with the Michelin cap?

Given the effort he's made with the VMXdN over the years, it's fitting to see him in what's likely to become an iconic image.

Good spot AK74. Could be him, and if it is, then yes, it’s a fitting and iconic photo.

Yeah nice win on the last race Chuck, and great to see someone win on something other than a Honda! Mid 90s Hondas are cool but every 125 race now might as well be called the Red race 😄

I'm wondering why they stopped people sitting on the main bank pit side, obviously for H&S reasons, but I can't see why personally
It's probably the best viewing point

They should definitely extend some fencing along there for next year so more of that bank is useable, it's gonna be heaving next time round, now that it's proven as good as most of us knew it would be, and like you say that's a premium spot there 👍

I thought, when I read the comment about the tank possibly being a GMX one, "Nah, the welds are just not gorgeous enough" . Nothing against the X Fun beads - it's about my level of 'pretty' welds - but each time I see GMX Tanks / Radiators, I'm just so impressed by their workmanship.

It's a great spot to watch from but technically, there was nothing to separate the spectators from the track even if there was a pretty big distance between the two. I've no doubt for next year that will be addressed and it would also be cool to be able to go down the hill at the top of the step up like back in the day, too.

I was only there on Sunday and it was much bigger and better than I imagined it would be. Top job by all involved.

Rv is a guy who I would have loved to be able to watch his career if it played out on two strokes… he was so damn aggressive as it was, would have been some moments I bet!

Agreed, he slid off in one race, in the zig zag at the bottom of the hill, on lap one and got back in it,

I am just glad they all got through it uninjured because they were all trying . Hard.

He’s definitely not lost it since retiring. I have a feeling he could be next year’s winner. He absolutely loved it and is fired up to come back stronger next year with some prep

Yes it really was a super event. Shame they cannot make it some sort of Championship also, with more rounds.

The age difference in riders made it really interesting- younger guys that retired not so long ago v. older riders- like Brownie/ Nicholl and more.

I would have liked to see more Euro riders though- like 1990's riders, Dewitt/ Bervoets / Moore/ Puzar and loads more. Bet they can still haul ass and could make event like this even more interesting. Does Johnny O' still ride?- he is probably fitter than a 20 year old, with all that bicycle riding! Dave Thorpe also probably could do well. Not sure but maybe alot of them have ongoing injuries that stop them from riding... So many older riders that have retired- would LOVE to see more of them racing events like this.

Great also to see the 500 2 Strokes out there mixing it up and doing good. Banks Browne did good also on the 500.

Does Stefan Everts still ride? now that would be interesting!

Really interesting event. Surprisingly good and tense also.Smile

I got a feeling next year will be way bigger. The buzz surrounding the event now, and how much RV enjoyed himself, next year it will be THE race to attend and everyone who is free in August is going to want to race it. I've been told too that the pits are going back to where they used to be the other side of the valley.

I'd like to see France represented next year. So many great riders could do it. Pichon, DV, Pourcell (either), Tortelli.. Hell I'm sure Demaria could still kick some ass.

As for Everts, I think the toes he lost would stop him from riding? At least in this kind of environment anyway..

To get even more Americans over maybe they could do an east coast team and west coast team? Or have 8 teams of 5 riders.. I dunno, but I do no August bank holiday weekend 2023 is what it's all about.

I was thinking the same thing while watching the VMXDN. RV's smile was a mile wide, something we didn't see much of during his pro career. Pretty much every time I've seen RV on camera since he retired, he looks genuinely happy. He clearly still loves motocross, something I imagine would be difficult after competing at the top levels of the sport for most of his career.
