TDC Added a reply to STIC and Keihin 38mm experience on YZ125?

Good to see some Super X carb feedback. I've been having a back and forth with a guy over on TT that says the STIC products reek of corner store energy pills and late night commercial claims. He also really didn't like that I stated that the carb body is cast in Cali., that's what I was told anyways. Did...

yes, got it from george. The new carb will add low which the insert didn't And of course much more mid to top over the insert. Very impressed with it.

So I recently installed george's complete stic carb . I'm not talking the insert. Its jets much easier than the insert. Best running 2 stroke I have ever owned and I've been racing them for 50 years...

I know some guys have has issues with their bikes but my 23 300sx has been a great bike. At almost 80hrs on stock top end & clutch, the bike just continues to impress me. Mx, woods, it does it all. I”m going to 100hrs before I tear into the top end just like I have done with my other 300”s. I mainly use my bike as a practice bike, 75% of the hrs have been in deep sand and working hard. I do feel they require at least 50/50 mixture of C12 or 110 leaded Sunoco. Only engine mode...

Cheaper to buy the SX and 6500’s or sss, you’ll end up with better forks and transmission.

You may be right, the other day I rode a TC300 and it didn't feel as dead in the front. The TC guy rode my bike with the KYB's. He said that my bike felt more planted and the front tire traction gave more confidence.

I’ve had 3 as well. All 3 are great bikes with no issues. I put 130+ hours on my ‘23 XC300 and it still ran great !

The 114 and the purple(N3WJ) has an ideal .0065" tube orifice gap. Too big has lazy response. From working with a 125X rider extensively. I'll suggest trying the base as needle @1clip position, AS @2 out, 52p and then only tune with the main, step by step from 198 thru 210. This base keeps you from confusing things. Taking the...

If you get a chance, ride an XC to see if you are okay with the tranny ratios. As mentioned before, the spring forks could be an easier path to better front end traction and feel. The cheapest SX fork fix is buying any used SSS front end or fork. The lowers slide right into the WP uppers!

I see Georges post, but the biggest power gains are with the .115 tube. Previously the .113 tube couldn't support the early rpm thirst of the 125. But, the X passage feeds that reverse pilot jet vapor sourcing to the main circuit. Anywho, if using the big gun .115, it requires a needle lean enough tfor a proper tube orifice...

Hold up, lol You asked about the STIC, not the STIC X. That's why I said the 55 is not a thing. You need to post in the Super X threads hear and on ktmtalk. So, 65+ pilots with the right air correction jet is where you want to be. Prolly have the 85 ACJ. If the model you have...

BTW, that original needle has been replaced with the purple(N3WJ). It gets to a steeper tapper earlier. Fuller bottom and it feeds the thirsty 125 into a stronger mid to top. JD stic red is also an improvement. 6.5 slides help the off idle into low end rip. 7+ are nice for the 200cc+. Great to see an OG resurface.

I have a 114 STIC in my 96 CR144 plus two 2018 TC125's with 113's. They all run very well. My kid rode my '96 and came back with eyes huge saying fastest 125 he has ever ridden. I updated the other two but think I will leave this one alone for now.........lol.

Personally, for bigger power, I'd retro fit for my STIC Super X carb. With a less powerful early 90's version, pro Honda test rider Rich Taylor stated in an article that his stock Boswell carb'd CR250 was faster than the works bikes. For MX on my 200SX, I use the slowest turn G2 throttle cam to control the mayhem. Otherwise...

Grabbed a dialed slightly used 3hunert to replace a '22 YZ250F. Couldn't have made a better move. I like bikes that have front tire bite and plenty of YAT. This thing doesn't give me days of aching forearms, like my mod'd 200SX w/YZ front end?! It does weigh more than the 250F, even tho it's said to be 220lbs, less...

I don't think HPRacing and Tokyo OffRoad have stock as yet. Price is under $700, which is lower than other less powerful aftermarket carbs. I've seen one for sale over at KTMTalk.com, BTW. I don't know if it's the long/short body, X or X2 version.
