TDC Added a reply to 04 KX125 swingarm alternative's?
4/14/2026 7:02pm The swingarm with its shock link was at a machinist shop for repair and the dang place burnt down from a transformer fire. If it is wrong at the pivot, I will hit the guy up for trimming things down. The 125 shock clevis fits the 05 shock link just received. Appreciate your input.

4/14/2026 7:06pm The STIC being an alternative to a big-bore and/or stroker. Intuitively, carbs are simply not seen as offering significant power gains for small engines. Hard to imagine how a carb could extract more power without altering anything within an engine. Especially in the case of a 40mm carb on a 125 at low rpm vacuum signal. So, how to get...

4/12/2026 1:59pm Got this 10 years ago out of Utah...after this picture in the garage, I pulled off the spoke skins! Rode it for a year but had bad sciatica and had a hard time with the high kickstarter. Hated to sell it because it worked really well. Mid 90s motor, 295cc big bore kit, and 2007 KXF frame. One of the strongest running bikes I have ridden in close to 50 years of riding. Not all conversions went unridden!

4/12/2026 1:57pm I've rolled the dice on an 04 KX 250F swingarm and 05 RMZ shock link. $110! The design looks the exact same, where as after 06 the design is obviously different. The KX250 swingarms are a rare commodity. Fingers crossed

4/9/2026 10:55am Save some serious coin and install a big-bore/stroker alternative, the STIC Super X PWK 38/40mm carb. Run everything stock. Yeah, it isn't a sick race build from an elite tuner, but it'll provide a broader and more versatile powerband. Rich Taylor on a otherwise stock CR250 test bike got his only SX main holeshot with a less potent 90's version...

4/7/2026 4:55pm Simply install the STIC Super X PWK 38/40mm. @traktor built a $4k TC125 for his boys and the boys and their race buddies always chose to ride/preferred the STIC carb'd 2nd TC125. Nothing will pull harder from bottom to top. I know a dad that installed the Super X on his sons 125SX with with only head work and a...

3/31/2026 5:56pm Confirmed fit then? I guess pivot spacer part and swingarm bolt numbers would confirm it. I do see a $60 04 KX250F swingarm. That's hundreds below the smoker units.

3/31/2026 9:44am An 04 KX250F has the same linkage design at least. The smoker 250 of this gen is as rare as the 125 and ppl are proud of these parts when available. To the point where it would be cheaper even if alternate pivot bolt and axle needed adaptations. Also, I need the shock knuckle link and bolt. I don't think...

TDC Added a reply to Feedback on New Fuel-Injected KTM Two-Strokes?
3/8/2026 6:25pm Yeah, I didn't get a tool from the seller. If there was one in '24, KTM doesn't sell it. It came with a WMR re-flash, flawless performance/ride-ability. Any who, I lean towards KTM releasing bikes/parts with issues and that's where tpi/tbi becomes a burden. Just not sorted out as well as cars.

3/7/2026 4:05pm Clearly the move to a carb'd Beta RX350 smoker is most logical. Back to back handling 22 YZ/24 SX. The SX felt like there was a magnet pulling the bike to earth. I had more confidence and comfort. Same for a 23 carb'd GG MC250. Bought the SX and TBI sets you up for the dealer having to trouble$hoot. I'm...

3/7/2026 3:54pm For the 2017-2022 (and 2023 GG) they are all basically the same. Ideally, avoid 2017 as there were issues with the cases breaking that year and there might still be some bikes floating around with the original cases, not upgraded. In 2019 the frame was changed a little (stiffer) and the 2021 and newer air forks are quite nicer than the previous years. Ideally, get a 2021 and newer with low hours. As for the TBI's in short, they are garbage. They are an insult to everything a 2-stroke is supposed to be. Guys who have them are forced to...

3/7/2026 3:18pm I’ll take my carb counter balanced 250sx over my tbi all day. The estart is nice but that is all they have going for them compared to the prior generation with a carb. They are a fair bit heavier then the 17-22(they weight what a 19-22 450sxf does) not to mention there is no rider tuning options(jetting or pv adjustment) without spending coin. First guy I used for tunes reflashed my ecu twice, hated both, second guy got me a tune that’s “ok” so I’m going to roll with it. There also has been a wide variety of random issues...

2/26/2026 8:02am Sweet build. I myself have a 200SX stock 04 engine, but for better than pro shop level race build, I installed a STIC Super X PWK 38/40mm carb. Provides big increase in low end and a broader stronger peak HP range. Standard and SmartCarb feels like a slug by comparison. Running a 06 chassis with 17 YZ250 front end w/FC valving and MX-Tech shock valving. It handles miles better than 1st gen chassis. Sticks in flat turns and yet very stable. Could be more plush out back, but fine for Houston tracks.

2/1/2026 9:11am The 200 hits a sweet spot for sure. As for KTM doing it again. TBI would spoil the party. Beta with the carby wins, but it ain't light neither.

1/28/2026 9:26pm Combining a 200's torque out on the track with a counter balancer would leave one wanting for more torque than possible. The 200 has a smaller bore character, you can't just roll it on and rip out of a loaded low-mid RPM like a 250. You have to be in a gear to maintain full steam ahead. If you see...
