TDC Added a reply to Any grown men riding a KX 112 need advice
8/24/2023 10:41pm The old smaller crf230 can be upgraded for decent MX. World Vet at Glen Helen had a 60 yo guy beat a lot of 450's and that was with them big hills! Not an Expert rider neither.

TDC Added a reply to Any grown men riding a KX 112 need advice
8/24/2023 10:15pm The 112 should have better power : weight than a 125 BTW. Sur Ron Ultra Bee electric is what you may want at home. Just need quality tires or light full size wheels and tires. Same size as the super-minis. Keep the 250 for trails. And why is the 112 not good for trails as well? I'm 5'11" and had...

8/16/2023 7:51pm Sorry if these suggestions are too obvious, but here is my .02 I wonder if increasing case volume with the Moose reed block torque spacer would help. The head dome can be reshaped for spreading out the power perhaps. Needles can alter a powerbands character as well. I'd say try a more linear 125SX CDI, but I recall there being...

8/16/2023 3:01pm Had a guy with a GoPro get some laps for me today. I'll post once he gets the clip to me. 220 lbs 6'4" fit young buck. He pulled in and said wow wow wow, I think it's faster than my fresh rebuilt '98 KX250.

8/13/2023 9:49pm Perhaps more tuners will adopt the STIC technology. I mentioned how potent my STIC was to a tuner that did my suspension. It didn't phase him when I wanted his last 198 main jet for my 200SX. He was surprised he had one and stated that no one uses anything that big. I mentioned I'm using a 200 main and...

TDC Added a reply to KTM 125sx - TSP "Power Kit Plus" review.....
8/12/2023 9:43pm Well, the ppl that swapped to Keihin. They are happy they did, bc they don't need to fuss with jetting nearly as much. Besides better power below peak HP.

8/12/2023 9:03pm The small bores actually get strong low end power right! On technical trails it's like an electric motor. Almost no clutching. Just lug it and twist the grip. Everybody gets the power down like a pro and shifts can be made in a much wider rpm range. No bad shifts. Always in the 'meat' of the power. And yes, there...

8/12/2023 8:12pm I've been running the new STIC Super X2 carb, US cast Keihin clone modified body with unique internal metering block circuits. Makes smaller bores savage right off idle thru an extended stronger top end. Comparing jetting specs to a std Keihin, 45/178 vs 80/200! The pilot actually reverses flow and feeds right above the main jet. It sources air/fuel vapor...

8/11/2023 9:38am Imma wondering if he runs any STIC products. I've read that Steinke ran the metering block. You don't even have to worry about if you shift too early, bc there's no longer that narrow bubble. That classic mid hit gets placed a bit above idle. I can't even get a laggy pilot jet throttle response on my 200SX and I...

8/9/2023 9:12pm That insert wing in the carb bore really helps dial in a pilot circuit. It makes the signal stronger and will transition stronger from low rpm under loads to whacking WFO.

8/9/2023 6:18am The above cutaway block pic shows the shorter pilot and a threaded plug to the fuel bowl. Between the two you see a rod exhibiting the X passage connecting the pilot chamber to the main jet tube, just above the main jet. Below you can see the air correction jet at the lower intake bell. When the pilot reverses flow...

8/8/2023 12:31pm FYI, there is a new STIC Super X2 cast carb now available. It's a very clean cast body made in the US! It has better tune-ability and includes the 2nd half of the complete design. Once RPM's leave the idle circuit range, the pilot circuit reverses flow and feeds air/fuel vapor to just above the main jet. The STIC likes...

8/8/2023 11:47am I found the G2 #400 mud cam returns the throttle control and range back to stock. I've got the even more potent STIC Super X2 carb on my 200SX now and I made sure I ordered the G2 and installed them at the same time. My 115 tube tune was too abrupt for jumps right out of turns, sketchy 'point...
TDC Started a new thread Newly released STIC Super X2 carb review
8/8/2023 10:05am This unit is based on a more advanced version of the STIC metering insert block. This design has more tune-ability and brings a more significant power level to the lower thru extended top range. The bore is 40mm/38. The body casting quality is at a high standard and design is based on the PWK AS series. Short Body and Screw...

TDC Added a reply to 2017 ktm 350 SXF forks
8/6/2023 8:02pm For the price of a re-valve and springs you can buy used SSS YZ forks or partial front end. All you have to do is shim the stawk bottom triple clamp. I 1st swapped to Showa 1st gens, that required upper and lower shims. They say 2nd gen are 'day and night better, FYI. These should be cheaper.
