Bubba raced a hybrid sx type event at my local MX track Nunawading and district mx in melbourne - NDMX like 15 years ago always the showman crowd pleaser he had someone setup on the side of the track he would pull in mid moto for a hotdog was funny as. Years later at the night of world records he hit like 150ft or something on his big ktm what a legend, RIP

I just bought a used 22 gasgas 125. Took it to tomahawk mx which is deep disced dirt with lots of sawdust mixed in, and plenty of steep hills. I’ve been slacking hardcore with fitness and am pushing 240lbs. This Gasgas is bone stock engine wise. I put the wheels from my 350 on it, which had pirellis mounted up with bibs inside. 110 rear sand scoop. This thing was pulling me up the hills and clearing jumps from the inside. Unbelievable. It was taking the shifts to 3rd and 4th up hills , in deep soil, without any hesitation...

Just picked it up yesterday, I think I'm never going back to my YZ250! lol, its very quick with me on it, I'm 180 pounds and there is no vibration in the foot-pegs or handle bars, very smooth. Interestingly, this thing has not dripped a single drop of oil, my YZ250 spit oil everywhere from the breather hose, I am not sure if a 125 is jetted any different. I did not know they come with a V-Force 4!!

I think it's only worth it with the service component. Have a mechanic with you primarily mounting tires and have a track day combo deal of some sort that you market before the event. Also offering other basic service work like oil changes, sprocket/chain installs, install holeshot devices, levers etc. Don't underestimate the number of things riders do not know how to do.

If the rumor of the reason for cancelation is true that is not a good sign...a few of their venues coming up are not known for drawing fans at previous motorsports events....

A key point for anybody else mulling this over is what you're doing with it and where. If you're racing on rough tracks, that's where the 350 starts to become a no brainer for me. The 450 can be fun if I'm hitting open practices or riding on relatively smooth tracks but if you're racing on gnarly tracks the 350 allows me to charge harder later in motos where on a 450 I'd be spent. The 350 feels 20 pounds lighter than a 450 and doesn't fatigue you as much. The 450 is just too much horsepower and rotating mass...

In the last 10 years I have owned a 125, 250f, 250 two stroke, 300 two stroke, 350 and 450. If I could only own one bike it would be my 350. That being said I currently have a 125, 250, 300, and 350 lol

RV & that Kawasaki were soulmates. RV had, as you say, great rear wheel control...and a riding style that catered to the bike's handling and steering geometry. I think there have been riders that have had to smooth of a riding style for that bike. It rewards guys like RV and Tomac. On the other hand, the Honda seems to be more of a "front end steering" bike...and seems to favor guys like Jett who is fluid smooth and picks lines carefully.
